Very interesting episode. You knew once they got to the top of the garbage heap that Rick would be knocked down. That was a given. The "garbage clan" were weird. As @Mac'nCheese said - right out of a Mad Max movie. Although their leader reminded me of a vintage Star Trek episode. It hasn't been generations since this started, so why the weird talk? And why do none of their other people talk at all?

I do hope they can enlist the help of the village on the river.

So what happens after they defeat the Saviors? Does everyone just settle into their communities and continue with life? Are we nearing the end of the series?

No. The producers said that they are going to be on for years.

I do not understand why the junkyard people have that weird speech pattern. Did the zombie virus turn their vocabulary and ability to speak a few grade levels in elementary?

I wonder if they perhaps used to be part of some particular group before everything went down, perhaps some school or maybe some cult or something like that.

I haven't watched one minute of Fear the Walking Dead yet. Is it any good?

I like it. It's a different survival story set in the zombie universe. Instead of waking up after it all fell apart like Rickmdid, you get to see the breakdown and it's the West Coast.

The comic is still going. :) The junkyard group appears to be an eccentric post apocalyptic society that has gotten a little cultish. It's like they are culturally evolved from what we would consider a normal way of talking.

this is a world that includes King Ezekiel...

I believe it has been established that King Ezekiel is putting on an act. I think it was the time that Carol spoke with him in private and he explained how he was some sort of stage actor.

I know. Doesn't mean these folks aren't doing the same.

There's certainly that too. Not just the part of there being someone playing a king, but basically a whole group playing into a whole "kingdom" type of fantasy society in a sense. I guess at the same time it's not that much different than the whole governor approach, just a bit more out there, so to say. That said, that's still a ways off from a whole group having some weird dialect and all that.

Tonight's episode. Amazing!! Eugene knows himself well.

The Dwight storyline - heart breaking. I usually don't like the episodes that only explore personalities, but this one was just amazing.

It was good. I find myself not liking Eugene. Is he playing the long game or has he really turned?

I think Eugene has turned for the worst. I think his allegiance will remain with the Saviors.

I believe Dwight will eventually run into Sherry again and be faced with a "fork in the road" type decision. Dwight is just bidding his time as a Savior...I think.

I don't believe his allegiance has turned. I do believe that his cowardice colors everything he thinks, does, or days. In his own way he's playing the long game.

I have disliked the character so thoroughly that for the second time ever, I stayed up to watch a little of the Talking Dead just to see the actor. Holy wow! He's good. He shares absolutely no traits with the character. I loved his comments on having to go through life with that hair.

The only other time I watched any of Talking Dead was to see the actor who plays Darryl. Totally unimpressed.

I agree with this. Dwight hates who he has become, and will race to reclaim the man he used to be at his earliest opportunity.

Eugene is driven by fear.

I'm not convinced Eugene has turned, but he's doing what is expected of him to appease his cowardice. This does not mean he is not biding his time.

Agreed on Eugene! However he might surprise us.

So I haven't seen any of this season except for episode 1. I'll wait till they hit Netflix and binge them.

But I was wondering something and thought I would put it out there.

What is so special about the glass in the post-zombie era? I have never once seen a zombie be able to break any glass, but when they grab you they have amazing strength.

Need to drive through a herd, just roll up the windows and drive slowly.

And since the glass is so special, why not a building of glass? Never worry about a zombie getting in.

Because the show is very uneven. Sometimes, you someone is surrounded by zombies and they are toast, other times, they can simply shove their way through dozens of them. Don't even get me started on cars. They always drive around with the windows down and walk past cars with the windows down and SURPRISE, a walker pops out!

Or the fact that the junkyard people can make a gladiator walker but Negan can't keep em stuck to a fence without them falling apart?
LOL. Right but pouring hot liquid metal on them won't burn them like fire, it will make them super strong!!!

Well i am still laughing when Rick crawled out of the trash pit and saw that plane flying beside his head  My kids didn't believe me until I showed them when we used slow motion on the dvr. So nothing can surprise me about this show anymore.

Feel Eugene is playing Negan. Dwight just might hook up with Rick and help him against the Saviours especially when/if Sherry appears again. When Negan was getting ready to use the hot iron, and the camera panned around the saviours, you could see the disgust on their faces before and after Negan toasted Doc. There seems to be more people who would cross over to Ricks plan then those who say their name is
"Negan".

Darrel and Carol are the wild cards for me. Loved the reunion.

Just rewatched that scene a few times and even knowing that some thought that it was an airplane of some sort it still looks like nothing more than just a bird, as it did the first time I saw it.
