Analyst Predicts No Siri on iPhone 5C, Fingerprint Scanner Solely for Device Unlocking on iPhone 5S

Will be interesting to check up on everything people said in this thread, when the new iPhones are launched.
I've been saying for a while now that this cheaper iPhone makes literally no sense...just let the previous gen iPhone serve as the less-expensive alternative to the brand new model. it seems as if the cheaper current generation iphone will have less capability than the previous gen 4S, while looking like a fisher price toy and maybe having less powerful hardware. what a waste of everyone's time...

That would hurt the appeal of the iPhone low cost. But $300 is a better price tag than the rumored $ 400 plus or something, for emergent markets. I see this cheap iPhone being a sucess in contries like India, Brazil or even Russia......

Uh, that's because Apple didn't own Siri when the 3GS or 4 were released...
Anyway, the iPad mini comes with Siri, the iPod touch comes with Siri. I can't see Apple *NOT* including Siri in the low-end iPhone.

1. I don't know how Gene Munster continues to be employed. I can't remember the last thing he predicted from Apple that wasn't either
A. so obvious that anyone with an internet connection could know it was true or
B. just flat out false.

It was funny for a while, but it doesn't do enough (the API needs to be given to the 3rd party developers to add to their apps) and isn't accurate enough to be useful.

Are people actually taking a Gene Munster prediction seriously? Wow, I have lost faith in peoples intelligence.
Use some common sense people. The iPad Mini has Siri. Every single iPod Touch has Siri. A new iPhone WILL have Siri, and all the Siri enhancements in iOS 7. It is absolutely stupid to assume otherwise. Notice how Munster is simply guessing and doesn't have an actual source for this.
I wish people would stop calling this the "cheap" iPhone. This is simply a replacement for the 5 in the product line when the 5S comes out. And the reason they're doing this is because there would be no way they could afford to lower the price of the 5, the machining and assembly for the 5 enclosure is incredibly time-consuming and costly. Therefore they're just putting an iPhone 5 in a less expensive enclosure, and adding some color to give it it's own personality from the 5S.

I think its funny that when others made a plastic phone apple folks laughed at it but now that apple is making one it's ok and now no siri. Let's find ways of convincing ourselves that's ok too. LOL. Apple just keeps going in the wrong direction. Make it 5" screen already. Nobody cares about anything else. Oh your little hands like the 4" screen? Good for you, us adults need something bigger.

Because the only way of making a product more reliable and perfecting it is by limiting it's use. UNlike the "feeling of exclusivity" some people had in the past with apple products, they are fairly saturated in the market now. All the money put into siri will only get a return if they use it.

People wanted a lower cost iPhone.
So how do you think you get to a lower cost iPhone.
That means less features and cheaper/lower cost parts.
OMG the 5C might not have retina. OMG it's plastic. OMG it has rubber buttons. Slower Processor. Average camera.

I just dont think apple can get away with just spec bumping their one phone every other year. I know this is how Jobs did it but times have changed...
If the finger print scanner is only used for unlocking the phone I really dont even consider that much of a feature.

iPhone 4S & 5 have Siri and retina. Those are cheap phones available right now. The iPhone 5C is merely going to be the same old parts in a new case.
