I've only played a bit near the start (not the very start) at my cousins place. It's all quite cinematic huh? I'd really love to sink my teeth into it but I'm not keen on them controls. I know what the designer said about 'polystyrene weapons', but it goes against everything I've known in an FPS game. Everything that made it fluid. I'm hoping they bring us a keyboard/mouse patch. Like they have some kind of epiphany like with trophies and go back and all them to the popular old games

You don't play PC FPS games, do you :p

I know somebody pulled off playing Killzone 2 with a keyboard and mouse, but I can't tell you how exactly. All I know is that it's possible.

And I like PC FPS's, but I deeply despised booting up Windows on my baby. :p

Ordered it on Amazon with release date delivery for $30! Arrived on Friday and have been playing it since I got my hands on it. It's awesome!

lol yeah there's talk he's a hobbit.. or dwarf.. or midget. you pick

Yeah they did seem to have a little fun with the camera didn't they? Well I'm a tall guy so I kinda like the change. :D

There's always the guy who makes your purchase sound like a rip-off.. Well, congrats!

It is quite good. Not as "fun" as COD5 for me...but it's a very good game.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose. I found COD5 (it's COD:W@W!!) great, but not really original at all. Nazi zombies kept my attention though.

And if you think about it, Killzone 2 is Space Nazis, which, besides the Warhammer series (which I vow to never touch in my life after their abysmal shooter) it sounds pretty original! :D

There is no COD5, at least for now. There is just COD: World At War which is COD 4 with old huns. The engine is the same, the mechanics are the same, only the scenery and weapons change.

As for Killzone 2... I really think it's great. My copy has arrived yesterday, and I spent some time playing it. It is clear that the lag on the controls is intentional. It gives a sense of weight, and it makes combat more believable. The graphics are far beyond anything I have ever seen. And not just in a console. It not only has great detail, but it also offers a sense of art in everything. When I finish the game, I will jump in the online component. I am eager to see what lies there..!

Well done, Guerilla Games!

I just finished an awesome round of Warzone, and Wow. You people have to seriously check this out. Nothing is more intense that 16 people in one little courtyard blasting away! And it's nice to see that the framerate can take all that beating.

So far, this game has my GOTY nomination.:D

I tried KZ2 online and I sucked. It's quite different then COD:WaW, which I'm pretty good at online.

The more I play it, the more and more I love it. The first few levels look good and all, but once your in the desert, it takes it to a whole new level...atleast for me..

So far the story is absolutely amazing...some of the levels are intense and involve like 8 tries before you figure out how to beat them.

GOTY for sure.

Just got my copy yesterday and had it on long enough to download the update and enjoy the opening. Liked that a lot. Looking forward to playing it this weekend!

Bill.....:apple:

The online is amazing (once I figured out what was going on!). In some matches the game mode seamlessely switches from one to another. You finish up one game (ex: body count, pretty much deathmatch), one team wins, and you go straight into the next (ex: assassination, kill the target). No loading screens, respawning, or anything.

Yep, otherwise known as Warzone. And the cool thing is, it's not all random. Say if one guy on the other team just dominates at bodycount, odds are he'll be the assassination target for the next round. I really love this feature, since it keeps you on your toes instead of standard team deathmatches that droll on for hours.

This game is outstanding. Took me a week to beat it. The final stage is incredibly hard and intense. Game is amazing from start to finish. GOTY candidate. 10/10 in my book.

really enjoying it, amazing graphics and i really like the slightly slower controls. As far as I could tell there isn't really a lag, more that the movements were slower and more cumbersome: i think it adds much to the game's atmosphere.

Well Guerilla Games just patched it with the 1.20 patch, which includes:

• Stability issue regarding randomly named games resolved.
• Stability fix when rapidly tapping (X) can cause crash on spawn-select.
• Stability issue regarding Saboteur’s disguise ability resolved.
• Stability fix on ‘Creating game’ with a blank name.
• Stability fix for repeatedly entering exiting game.
• The Ignore list functionality corrected.
• Unlock of “Frontrunner” Medal now functioning correctly.
• Fix for incorrect award of win to clan not showing for game resolved.
• Battle Replay for Corinth Crossing not appearing correctly on www.killzone.com.
• Issue with not being able to defuse the Search and Destroy objective resolved.
• HUD issue correction during Assassination mode when playing as a Medic.
• Controller input tweaks and modifications.
• Fix for auto-lock on of shotgun exploit.
• Fix for D-Charge issues in Campaign mode.

Looks like they perfected it!

Great game, played it through on Veteran; now doing so on Elite. Not having cross hairs does make it more difficult, but also more satisfying when you nail someone without them.

The only thing I didn't like was there seemed to be too many "you're stuck here, kill the near-infinitely spawning red-eyes who come at you" battles. The vehicle sequences are too short, and too limiting (IMO).

The end (no spoilers here) was very tough. Must be near impossible on Elite difficulty.

The desert/mine level is stunning; incredibly atmospheric. What's amazing too in this game is the draw-distances. There seems to be very little LOD reduction, buildings/people in the distance are perfectly rendered. The lighting system is spectacular too - though the game could be fatal to anyone with photo-sensitive epilepsy!

You could almost forgive the total lack of storyline!

The desert level blew my mind. I was going through the "sniper alley" as i call it and met a guy on some stairs. I shot a round with the Bolt Gun in his direction as he jumped back into cover and it caught the tail of his jacket and pinned him to the hall, kicking and screaming, until it blew up. THE TAIL OF HIS JACKET! I was dumbfounded. Not only did they render his clothing separately from his body, but they made it physical and interactive. My jaw hit the floor.

I am LOVING this game. I haven't played Resistance 2, but this game is already better than Resistance 1.

I'm not sure if this is a Halo Killer as much as it is a Gears of War killer / competitor (i'm not making judgements about which is better). My brother has a 360 and watching him play Gears looks similar to Killzone.

I think the thing that I'm most surprised / impressed by is the physics. Everything moves so naturally, things blow and wave in the wind, it really is something to see.
