It's kind of depressing that the Android world seems so interested in a feature that's passable enough for most Apple diehards to pass on this year's phone. You've got a full top row, guys… have some self-esteem.

It's kind of depressing that anyone believes Android users at-large are responsible for this app and created it for the ego boost. The point of the software is to generate revenue -- just like Apple's version -- and has nothing to do with anyone's ego.

It’s cool, it’s like putting a Ferrari badge on a Fiat Punto. Not all Apple fans can afford an iPhone so let them dream, no harm in that.

Let's hope a developer from Apple sees this and decides to fight back by copying Android in allowing users to selectively copy text from a text message 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣.

Things you won't find on an Apple phone #452
It is strange that I have to copy the whole message, paste it, then select the part I actually wanted, in 2022.

I took Apple 1 year and a new IOS version, so pathetic the “innovation” from Apple.
My experience with Android was always that the devices touted more features than Apple devices, but so many of the features didn't work at all or were implemented poorly. I remember when I had a Galaxy and it had facial recognition. I literally turned it off because it LITERALLY did not work. At least with Apple, when they have a feature, it works perfectly (usually). The two platforms are much closer now, but Android is more responsive in some ways (though not with OS updates).

Who do you mean by "they"?

Sorry, you just reminded me of this quote 😂

At least wait until Google or Samsung copy the feature. This was done by a user. But oh well, look how many comments this thread gets unlike actual apple rumor stories. So I guess these “news” will keep coming.

There’s literally nothing Android could offer that would make me switch because it’s the ecosystem, not any feature or device, that’s the value and that’s something no Android manufacturer will ever have.
Why is that? Why do they seem to have so much trouble integrating all of their products into a cohesive ecosystem?

Apple frequently references it by said things like “that only Apple can do.”, but WHY?

Microsoft and Google just aren’t interested or something? Or maybe because they have so many partners whose toes they don’t want to step on.

Apple copies stuff all the time, so meh.
No, they don’t. They take an idea that someone else created, and builds an Apple-style version that fits into the mindset of Apple products. What Android makers tend to do, is “hey that looks awesomez, we must have that too, NOW! Who cares if it looks messy!”

Similar to how the Android fans are going batsh** crazy that they had Always On first. But it’s not the same feature. Some dude was lecturing me about how a four year old Android phone looks like this years iPhone, because it had Always On. But it’s not at all the same implementation. Look past the headlines, if you want to understand Apple.

Thank you!

I’ve seen so many comments that Dynamic Island is “just a hole punch, we had that in 2016” or the aforementioned Always On. I’ve never seen an always on screen look like the iPhone’s(except the Apple Watch I suppose)

It’s just not in the company culture. The Apple ecosystem is built around the user. Windows is built around the engineers. It’s just in their bones.

LOVE that analogy.

I completely understand why many people buy a 150 dollar Android phone. But that anyone other than nerds who want to tinker with everything spends 1000+ on an Android phone is nothing but a sad result of marketing.

Yeah it's not the same, it's worse, and it only took them 4 years to come with a worse Always On Display feature. Now that's funny.
