No one is forcing anyone to use Apple. If Android is so great (imo it’s garbage) then people have the option of choosing it.

Most people don’t want to tinker around with their phones and make it look like a Windows 10 PC (why would anyone want this?). For those that do, there is Android.
Likewise... I know quite a few iPhone and MacOS users who don't care about privacy (they can't be that much if they're using the Facebook app an hour a day, and an assortment of Google products), nor creative types (they seriously could've just gotten a cheaper Windows machine, or a Chromebook for just internet stuff). However, that doesn't stop this community from complaining about them.

For once, Android is copying Apple....who'd have thought.
Google, who creates Android hasn't copied anything yet. This is from an app developer. As a consumer I don't care who copies who's features as long as it's legally done it benefits consumers.

You could say Apple has copied a lot from Android features as well, so to me it works both ways and benefits the the end use of both products.

Hey, if I’d wanted a superior smartphone with the best privacy protections, I’d’ve bought one.
And so I did: iPhone 14 Pro Max

It's kind of depressing that the Android world seems so interested in a feature that's passable enough for most Apple diehards to pass on this year's phone. You've got a full top row, guys… have some self-esteem.
I think DI is a gimmick regardless of OS. The impressive thing is that on Android the developer can implement and offer it to the users with ease whereas on iOS, Apple would have never allowed such an app in the App Store.

It is kinda telling how excited Android users are for this new app in their Play Store. They really are so envious of iPhone and iOS.

It's because Android users have the ability to modify the OS like this and their phones always get cool features like a back display for notifications. So they're used to cool stuff like this, while we end up waiting years for stuff like customizable lock screens and always on displays.
I’m not sure I follow your reasoning…BECAUSE they are “used to” cool stuff like this devs are rushing to copy a software feature from Apple?

Wouldn’t they be disinterested if it’s nothing special to them?

The fact there are copycats already indicates it’s a novel feature that at least someone is not used to.

See how that works......both platforms copy from each other.

Since when does an app developer = "the Android world"?

I feel I can comment on this as I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and a Galaxy Fold 4. Android is still laggy sometimes, yes it’s vastly improved to where it was in 2010 but it’s still not iOS levels of smooth.
Context matters… I had lag on my mother’s iPhone X using iOS 16 and I’ve never experienced lag on my Galaxy Fold 4. So, does that mean iOS is not on level of smoothness compared to Android? Truth of the matter, lag can happen on older phones. But nowadays on latest flagship models… lag is nonexistent.

Let's see how well your Galaxy Fold 4 will handle Android 16 in a few years :p

You do know these are created by other people right and not by google or samsung.

Apple probably had hundreds and hundreds of people working on Dynamic Island only for one app developer to mimic it in a few days. lol.
