As a former android user iphone is more set it and forget it. Android is best suited for people who have time to kill. I found myself wasting hours tweaking my android just because I could. After getting a iphone I found myself tapping back into a social life and being much more productive. My 2 cents.

FYI: you can activate the led flash for notifications in settings under accessibility.
I personally prefer apple's way of having context-specific back buttons.
Because of a recent ruling, I'm avoiding the use of the fingerprint to open my phone. It was super convenient, but the police have no right to look in my phone without my consent.

That's not what he's talking about. The LED option in accessibility only flashes at the time the message is received. And it's like a strobe light!! On Android, there is a stock option and there are apps like "No LED" that continuously flash the LED every few seconds until you clear the notification. It is honestly the #1 thing I miss from Android! I was even able to set the color according to the sender...such as when I missed a call or text from my husband, the LED would flash red, when I missed something from my mom, the LED would flash purple, etc. So I could glance over or walk past my phone and know IF I missed a call/text AND who it was from.

With the 10 to 15 Jailbreak Cydia tweaks I have added to my 6+, I have to say I am starting to actually like this phone, more than I expected.

- Screen is gorgeous, very crisp and sharp, and the auto brightness settings works damn near perfectly and quickly changing going from a dark room to bright room.

- Battery life on my third day, this thing seems to last a while, easily a full day so far, but I haven't really hammered hardcore yet, but it seems like it should do the job.

- Kind of a dumb one, but I like how the phone is flat, and lays perfectly flat on a table, so I can easily use it while it's sitting on the counter top. Where my other phones were all curved on the back side, they rock back and forth using them flat on a table.

- Thing is, I still have my OnePlus One, and it has Lollipop on there, so I could swap back and forth on days I feel the need to go back to Android. Not sure just going from my OnePlus One to a Nexus 6 would be radically noticeable ? Compared to trying something different and fresh in a Jailbreaked 6+ ?

But then there are still a ton of things I miss from Android that no JB tweak can add. Like LED Notifications, or Active Display notifications like the Moto X and Nexus 6 have. Or a true software "back" button that's always there, as opposed to the strange and more difficult swipe left or right, and many others...

swiping more difficult then swiping?
I think it's just an habit, nothing else.
To go back, there's the home button and it's all you ever need. If you need to go back inside an app, you'll find a "back" button there, otherwise you won't! You need to be more open minded to accept that there are different ways of doing the same thing: for the Android way, there are Android phones! :)

Android nerd here as well. I've owned this 6+ since the 4th of december, despite having it replaced 3 times due to manufacturing defects.
Having never owned an iPhone or Apple device ever before it was a big leap of faith going into IOS without any prior experience.
Like you I became bored as well with android, I would also too root each and every phone I had. Hell, I even had android running on my old hd2.

The first thing I missed off the bat was the led notification light. But there's an option you can change to allow the phone to continually alerting you, the drawback is each time it turns on the screen. I believe the max is 10times in two minute intervals. If you have a lot of people blowing up your phone like I do on a daily basis that is a lot of battery juice going to missed texts.
Whereas a notification led is quite simple and does the job well. If it's blinking you got mail, if it's not then don't bother touching your phone.
Another thing I miss is being able to set individual volumes. I used to be able to get away from drunk, angst filled calls at 3 am on A Thursday morning by setting my ringtone volume to mute and keeping my alarm volume current.. Not anymore!

However that's to be expected. I'm in a different ecosystem now and I mustbabide by whatever standards are set within it. I knew what I was getting into.

Overall I was going to get the nexus 6 but I found myself at home with this. I plan too jailbreak it tonight so I can get rid of this ugly dock bar.

A few notes: space (and any icon arrangement you can think of) can be done while jail broken with a tweak called Homescreen Designer.

The swipe actions (and a TON more) can be done with Activator (JB tweak)

Not a back button, but SwipeSelection allows you to move the cursor by swiping across the keyboard (JB tweak)

You mentioned widgets, there's a tweak called iWidgets that is vey nice for Homescreen widgets...and there are hundreds of them out there.

There are jailbreak tweaks for most anything you could want. Browse over to the jailbreak forum here to get a glimpse.

FWIW, here's my home screen on my 6:

Where i can find this iwidget thanks

Following this thread with great interest. I'm an android user who is considering the switch. I was all set up to do it and even pre-ordered a 6 but cold feet and cancelled, but lately i'm more and more drifting towards it.

It's my phone and I will install what I want on it. How is that unethical?

The TOS specifies what you can do with it and what you can't.
If you break that, you are unethical.
Don't like it and want to be ethical? Return it.

I just jail broke mines and fell in love all over. SmartTap is brilliant. No more ugly dock and i don't have to push my home button anymore. I literally don't have to use my power button anymore either cause of smart tap. #

Yep. It's a feature I'm using on my Nokia Lumia 1520 I would like to have on my iPhone.

That's pretty much what I wound up doing. I swap between iPhone and Android maybe once a month. I'm currently on the iPhone 6 until I feel the desire to switch back.

There are pros and cons to both operating systems, and since I like to keep myself updated I have no problems switching between the two.

As to your question between the N6 and OPO, if you're already on Lollipop, I don't know if you'll notice enough of a difference to warrant buying the N6. (However, as a phone junkie I'm sort of inclined to say go for it :p)

I don't know how much is going to have an impact on battery life of an iPhone.
Lumia 1520 and LG G3 has very huge battery....

Shouldn't have much as its only running the digitizer, it should be hardly noticeable. Unlike activator which runs Touch ID

Swap between iPhone and Android once a month ? So basically you are buying the same iPhone model ten times a year  ?
Last time I checked, Apple releases the iPhone once a year.....

I didn't think I had to imply that I'm switching between devices I already own but.... :)

Just got the 6 Plus two days ago, this is my first iPhone since the 3G over five years ago. I have never Jailbreak before, I am brand new at this stuff, and thanks for the help here.

Anyways, nothing fancy;

And the lock screen I am using

LockInfo 8;

There are actually a few ways you can do this with stock iOS. Check out using the Do Not Disturb feature as I use it and love it for the very reason you described... To avoid 3am phone calls yet not worry about turning off my alarm.

I don't like the way you are cloning an Android device on your iPhone, but it's your phone, if you are happy, well I'm happy.

Some comparison shots between my other phone the OnePlus One, which is also the same 5.5" screen size, and is using a thin Diztronic case.

Another nice Jailbreak feature is the ability to drag and drop files onto the iPhone like you can on Android, it is called "iFile".

I have so many JB Cydia tweaks on this iPhone 6 Plus, it performs very close to an Android phone, without all the typical Apple limitations and lock-downs. I am not trying to make my iPhone and iDroid or something, but tweaking it to the way I like, and would do the same tweaks if I had a Windows Phone if possible.

And the battery life and standby time seem to be pretty amazing so far, and with another tweak "NoSlowAnimations" this phone is fluid as water, no hiccup or slowdown or stutter whatsoever, just super fluid fast and utterly smooth everywhere in the OS, like everywhere, not once does it hiccup or pause for 1/2 second like some of my Android phones did once in awhile.

First I'd like to compliment you for your courtesy and professional approach to your project. Usually Android enthusiasts aren't as open minded and friendly upon visiting this forum.

Second as one who is extremely passionate and enthusiastic about all smartphone platforms, my current preferences are Android first, Apple second. Finally after procrastinating for years Apple has overcome their fears and have joined the other makers who give us spacious displays.

The images above are wonderful, you've done an excellent job in a very short period of time. Your years of Android modding , which I share, having used Android & iPhones concurrently since their intro and very first phones were offered for sale, reveals your comprehensive skills.

Given a bit more time you may find the iPhone is fun despite its remaining limitations after the jailbreak. It's one reason I use it, the other is mine is employer issued and due to my long standing record of safe computing they've included a clause in my NDA allowing me to jailbreak.

I look forward to following your reports regarding how you're doing and what your take is on IOS 8 and your iPhone as time goes on. :)

I've always felt like Android is a tweaker's paradise. And I never understood jaikbreaking an iOS device. I used Android for many years and like the OP, I rooted and ROM'd every last one of them.

With the 6, I decided to switch for a change of pace, but the change of pace I was after was much closer to the change I was seeking when I bought my first Mac after building PCs for many years. I wanted to just use my tech and not be bothered with tweaking anymore. I was all about it at one point in my life, but not right now. I'm thoroughly enjoying using stock iOS. It really has a lot to offer. A friend asked me a few days ago if I like the 6 and the switch from Android. I said there was things I missed about Android, but just as many things I love about iOS that I would miss if I went back.

It's worth mentioning that I'm no stranger to iOS. I work in an all-Apple IT support environment supporting Macs and iPads. So I knew what I was getting into, and what I was leaving behind.

I wish the OP luck and adventure exploring and tweaking iOS. But I've always thought that if you love to tweak, there's no better platform to be immersed in than Android.
