They are trying to sell at that price.... That doesn't mean it is the price you can really sell it.
As I said, good luck if you are looking for more than 300-350$
Yes, it does. The current average sale price is $366.

Took the plunge myself today. Went to the apple store and got myself a gold 6+ off contract. Haven't used an iPhone since the days of the 4.

'AlternateControls' Brings Android-style Buttons for Common Navigation Features in iOS
http://modmyi.com/content/17692-alt...e-buttons-common-navigation-features-ios.html

Android style back button and software keys, now available for Jailbreak iPhone's :eek:

Wow... that's something I definitely miss. I noticed I use those on screen buttons more than I thought. I just hope I don't break my iPhone's home button like what happened to my previous 2 iPod Touches.

I will say a few things though. I like being able to selectively choose what my apps has access to permission wise. On Android you had to grant it all access or don't install it. You can get around it with Xposed Framework or custom ROMs. I do miss seeing all the Permissions needed before installing an App from the Google Play Store though. Other than that... I really do like all the apps I can choose from. The camera is a pretty big upgrade from the Nexus 5, software and hardware.

UPDATE: I got a new Nexus 6 last night, and still have the Jailbreaked 6 Plus. ( I made a sweet trade on Craigslist, my OnePlus One + my old sort of beat up HTC One M8, that had a few scratches and scuffs, so I traded those two old phones, for a brand new in the box Midnight Blue Nexus 6 )

I couldn't pass up that deal.

Ok so I rooted and installed custom Recovery right away on the Nexus 6, and a stock based ROM and battery friendly kernel.

First Impressions;

Overall impressions one day in with the Nexus 6. It is a HUGE phone, going back to my 6 Plus after playing around with the N6 all night, feels like a mini and much smaller phone. I like how all the tech sites, say look at how tall the iPhone 6 Plus is, it's the same size as the Nexus 6 almost, but the Nexus 6 has a way bigger screen. yes that's true technically, but the 6 Plus is a lot narrow, way thinner, and lighter. Sure it's the same height as the Nexus 6, but the 6 Plus having a narrower width, being a lot thinner, and lighter makes it feel in hand, much much smaller and more manageable than the Nexus 6. Really is a big difference, and pictures on website reviews, or YouTube videos can't really show that size and feel in hand difference. The iPhone 6 Plus is an easier phone to use if size makes a difference to you, just a better feel in the hand, higher quality build.

Performance;

The Nexus 6 phone itself, is fast and snappy, but not like oh my God awesome fast, no, it feels just like my other Android phones this year. The Jailbreaked 6 Plus, just feels fluid as flowing water, yeah maybe not warp speed fast, but overall consistently the same smooth speed, zero stutter, zero hiccups, always fluid smooth. Bottom line, the JB 6 Plus feels smoother than the Nexus 6.

Battery;

Now there's no way I can get a true evaluation just 24 hours in with the Nexus 6, but I can say standby time just seems average. I left it off the charger last night at 49%, and this morning was at 43%, where my iPhone 6 Plus I went to bed with it at 18% battery left, and woke up and checked it, still was at 18%. I am actually really shocked on the amazing battery life of this 6 Plus, it gets hammered on all day and night long, nonstop use, and will go from 6am to 11pm with still like 25% battery left, and I am on on it every minute practically lately. Where the Nexus 6 we unplugged this morning at 8am with a full charge, and now at 10:30am it's down to 72% battery life, but did have 1h 30m Screen On time. Bottomline, standby time on the JB 6 Plus is better.

Screen;

AMOLED vs LCD is such a hard comparison, usually personal preference. The Nexus 6 has deeper richer and more vibrant colors, due to the AMOLED, and the 6 Plus is more true in color, just looks accurate, maybe more bland next to the Nexus 6. But the 6 Plus being 1080p and the Nexus 6 being 1440p, I can't even see the difference to be honest. Actually the 6 Plus screen looks sharper and a slight more crisp actually. Bottomline, it's a tie, they are both great screens.

Usability;

This is hard to compare, iOS8 vs Android 5.0. But I will say that when heavily using each phone, with phone calls, and texts coming and going, and e-mails, that the Android OS seems to multitask better. It seems easier to navigate and operate a Lollipop based phone when you have tons of different texts coming, and incoming calls, etc... Where the iPhone just doesn't seem to handle multiple things going on as well or fluid. And I don't mean performance wise, I mean just switching between different apps, call, texts and e-mails, is easier on the Android, where the iPhone you have to like exit each one, and move to the next app, it just seems more clicks and longer time to do those tasks on the iPhone over Android. Bottomline, Android wins this big time.

Flat vs curved phone;

This is just a silly observation, I have always liked the newer Android phones with the curved back, and tapered thinner sides, feels easier to hold that way. But the iPhone 6 Plus, being a completely flat back, surprised in a good and bad way. Laying the 6 Plus down on a desk or table, it is so much easier to operate laying flat like that, and I LOVE it :) While the Nexus 6 no way can do that, it rocks back and forth teetering all over the place. But also holding a flat back phone is not as comfortable as the curved Nexus 6. But % wise, I think I lay the phone down on a table or desk more often, than actually holding the phone in hand. I probably lay the phone on a table 70% of the time, and 30% in my hand, just guessing, So a flat back is actually more useful and liked by me. Bottomline, 6 Plus flat back wins.

Vibration / Haptic Feedback;

I have a JB tweaked called HapticPro enabled, and it has options to give that haptic vibration throughout the OS, or wherever you like it, and it can be tweaked to be light or very heavy buzz, and per apps too. Anyways it gives the 6 Plus a solid nice buzz when clicking things, and I liek it. Sort of like my old HTC One M8 buzz, it was very solid and perfect too. But the Nexus 6 haptic feedback feels cheesy, it rattles the phone, and sounds weird, and feels way too powerful, it needs an option to adjust it. Bottomline, the 6 Plus does haptic vibration much better.

Overall score;

Both phones are excellent, in my nerd dream world I would take the iPhone 6 Plus that could flash CM12 ROM on it. That would be the best of both worlds. But in the real world, I can only use and keep one phone. And this Android nerd is most likely going to stick with the Jailbroke iPhone 6 Plus. I love the battery life and standby time on the JB 6 Plus, that is a HUGE deal for me. As is the lighter, thinner, and narrow size of the 6 Plus, it is just easier to hold and operate than the Nexus 6. But I do like Android 5.0 Lollipop better than iOS 8. But the Jailbreak helps a ton to soften the blow on iOS.

This is the last week I have to return the iPhone, I need a few more days with the Nexus 6 to really see.

My rant against the Nexus 6 after owning it a brief time. I am mad at Google for making me like a Jailbreaked iPhone 6 Plus over their flagship Nexus phone this year :p I am the iPhone hater, I make fun of the Hipster iSheep, I should NOT be happy with an iPhone, but I am :eek: Well Jailbreaked of course, I wouldn't be saying this without the JB.

I go all the way back to the Nexus-One...Nexus-S...Galaxy Nexus...Nexus 4, and I stopped and didn't buy the Nexus 5 because of the crappy little battery they put in there.

And now Google makes a full high end flagship priced $700 Nexus phone, and it's just ok, nothing fantastic. The battery life seems average so far, and XDA users saying same thing, the battery life is good but not great. The size is just crazy, not just the 6" screen, but the bulging thickness, weight, and extra width makes this phone a beast, even next to the 6 Plus, an already large phone, but the Nexus 6 makes the 6 Plus feels like an average smaller sized phone.

How was OnePlus able to make and sell a phone for just $299, that IMO is a pretty darned good phone, with fantastic long battery life, beautiful screen, and very smooth performer. And the $700 Nexus 6 should blow it out of the water in every category, yet it doesn't.

Why do I like a Jailbreak iPhone over a brand new highend flagship Nexus ?

I think Google should have made the Nexus 6 a 5.5" screen size phone, making it smaller footprint than the iPhone 6 Plus, used more premiums materials like the HTC One line, and should have contracted HTC to make it actually. Stick with a 1080p display, not the silly 2k battery drainer. And stuck like a 3,300mAh battery in there. Oh well...

Before it was even pictured I knew the 6 was going to be an oversized Moto X.. But Motorola is like that one ex we all still show love to, in Google's perspective. Otherwise it would've been better if htc would have made the nexus 6 it would've been classy. I'd imagine Google opted out because htc already has the htc one max on the market still.

I so appreciate you starting this thread. I also had the 2G and 3G iPhone and since then stayed with Android, rooting and custom roms. Every time I picked up an iPhone I really wanted to love it but I could not bring myself to commit to using one on a daily basis. I may just pick up a 6+ and try it out myself...thank you!

Oh well...for now this Jailbreaked iPhone 6 Plus more than satisfies my tweaking nerd habits, but I can't stress enough, with no Jailbreak, there's no way I'd keep the iPhone, IMO the JB is a MUST. And playing with a Jailbreak iPhone is fresh, something brand new to me. And the quality of the phone itself is evident, really is well put together, beautiful screen with realistic true colors, fast performer, AMAZING standby battery life, and very thin and lightweight, and narrow, making this big phone easier to handle. Sure it's tall, but that's the only knock on the size, the length or height.

I am dying to see the HTC One M9 though, but please make the screen larger, but still keep 1080p.

I have enough Android smartphones. My first iPhone was the 5s but the screen was too small so gave it up. I went to the 6 but with my vision that did not work out for me and that was more important than the ergonomics.

Rocking the iPhone 6 Plus. I did not jail beak and I love it.

I messed with the N6 at a T-Mobile store many times. While that would not be a realistic approach versus taking it home, I decided against the latter given the price.

A bigger screen for the HTC? Well I picked up the Desire 816 from Amazon and a bargain price enough for me to mess around with it. Obviously not their flagships but I am happy with it.

Thing is, the Nexus 6 doesn't feel like a premium flagship phone, especially at the $700 price tag. I mean the HTC One M8 felt like a high end premium smartphone, the iPhone 6 Plus does as well. Heck, even the OnePlus One almost feels more premium or higher end than the Nexus 6.

To me the Nexus 6 feels like it should have been sold at the typical $399 off contract pricing.

The Nexus 6 haptic vibration shakes the whole phone, and sounds and feels cheap. The size really is HUGE. Even compared to the large 6 Plus, but the Nexus 6 feels like a whole other category of large. And the battery life isn't that great either on the Nexus 6, is just ok.

And I'm a big Android nexus AOSP fan.

Been following this thread for a while. Congrats on making one of the most interesting threads on Macrumors in a long time :) Most people here aren't willing to drop the cash on different phones as you have. So....most of us would have no way to form the opinions that you had made. Thanks for sharing it with us! +1

I've been following this thread from the beginning and it REALLY makes me want to try JB!!!!!!! But it would be my first time doing it and I'm worried about the warranty issue.

QUESTIONS: If something went wrong with my phone or if I didn't like the JB, will a reset really take the phone back to stock? If I needed to take my phone to an Apple store, would they be able to tell that it used to be JB? And if you JB, can you still use iCloud to backup the phone daily? How would it work if I reset the phone and went to do a restore...would it re-JB or would it go all the way back to my last non-JB backup and lose any pictures in between? Also, does iMessage work on JB? I particularly like the read receipts and don't want to lose that feature. Are there any other downsides I need to consider?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
