Steve Jobs chose to limit the iPhone to just one carrier.*
He's the one fanboys worship.*
He's the one that leads the company.*
He's the "Hype Master" and marketing genius.*
Therefore it's a very fair comparison. Facts are facts.
iPhones are sold on multiple carriers in multiple countries. Just look up north in Canada where it's sold on 3 of the 4 major carriers. Guess what those 3 major carriers all have in common? UMTS 850/1900. Guess the one "4th major carrier, WIND" has? 1700/2100 UMTS. That's why WIND doesn't get the iPhone.
Same thing across the Atlantic. All the major carriers support 2100 UMTS. That's why it's much easier to offer the iPhone to multiple carriers.
Wait for Verizon to go LTE, they will get the iPhone.
