Awaiting the flood of hateful sexist male fanboy comments...

Fyi she's quite accomplished but will be belittled by males regardless of her accomplishments . Like it or not the tone is different if it were a male in the same role.

I don't think this move may have anything to do with a gender rather some intended result may not be met. To take something off of a plate, means someone else has to now handle that responsibility. If it's someone else within the organization, that may equate to a pay increase for that person. Contrasted, the pay she receives may decrease.

*shrugs* To me, this is a strong message to her that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel for her now.

Read the writing.

Maybe someone realized she was over paid and not worth her 10Million a year!

Just another mistake of Tim Cook. His legacy is just racking them up!

And once again your tiny ad-homenim, while being so precious, speaks volumes about you being out of gas and having little to contribute to the discussion.

You seem to love following me around threads here. Weird.

Exquisitely written. Thanks for this.

Tell me more about this zero-inventory product announcement.

(Posted from my Jet Black iPhone 7 that I received on launch day)

Dear Angela,

The strategy to announce new products with zero inventory seems like a really bad strategy. AKA, the watch 2015, AKA the jet black iPhone 7. That strategy will see more of your title dropped is my guess.

Thank you,
CM

But what are her achievements?

I'm not having a go, I just genuinely don't know. You have to remember these executives get paid squillions but for what?

Oh, and her gender has nothing to do with anything. That argument is so 2,000s.

You forgot "the new MacBook" that launched alongside the 1g watch. Could not be found. Announced and it took 2.5mths to deliver.

Insane.

Angela Ahrendts is the highest paid, most important, and most powerful woman executive in the world. I predict that someday, after the Tim Cook era, she will become CEO of Apple.
Agree—she or Jeff.

The physical Apple stores went downhill after the iPhone. Not really because of Apple, just too many people in there. It is like going to Walmart on Black Friday.

This is one woman that needs to be fired.

Is there a reason we can't say anything negative about women?

Name one iPhone release that hasn't been a 'preorder disaster'.

Demand outstrips supply. It's as simple as that.

Exactly! The day this is not the case is the day you find yourself crying because you're still holding Apple shares that are swan diving.

Dear CM,

You should realize that that's not the responsibility of the vice president of retail. Having enough products ready for sale and in the supply chain to maintain enough product to match anticipated demand is the job of the Chief Operating Officer.

Angela Ahrendts has done a fantastic job of refreshing the retail experience beyond the original successful first decade. Given the relationship Apple customers have with the brand and how stores were used, they should become places to learn and be inspired and not just showrooms and shelves with product.

Coming from the fashion world, she is the perfect fit for Apple in a time when computers are becoming ever more personal, a shift that leads the company to where fashion matters. Apple has always been a fashion company, not just as overtly in the way as we're seeing now. We're only going to see an increase in personalized Apple products to fit the individuality of each person. What better person then to be in charge of retail than the former CEO of a wildly successful fashion brand?

You took the exact words out of my mouth. Since the day she came aboard and changed the business model of how products are purchased...particularly new launch products its been a total $ H I T show...

I'll answer....
There has not been a Jet Black and as of the past 8 days a Matte Black iPhone 7+ or ANY Series 2 watch available ANYWHERE. If your going to "launch" a product to sell....STOCK THEM!!!

I would say Gina Rinehart is more powerful. She is worth currently 12.7 billion US dollars.

And Prince William is worth more than Barack Obama. Money doesn't equal power all the time.

Havent seen iPhone delivery estimates drop to 5+ weeks since the iPhone 3G days. It seems to me like they came put with Jet Black last minute to have something for the "look at my phone i got the lateeeest iPhone" audience. Granted thats not her problem

1. That's a lie. The 6 was worse.

2. That's a supply chain issue, not the retail area.

Even Lynsi Lavelle Snyder, the heiress of In and Out burgers is worth mentioning.
