ahh, I was all set on buying my new MacBook Pro 13" when it comes out tommorow but this new rumor has me stressed out. I would really love a new design on the MBP and it dosent look like this years refresh will have one.

I hope this announcement is indeed the Ipad 2. I could see apple releasing the Ipad 2 in the March/April time frame. If they did release another one I'm guessing it would be an "Ipad mini" with a seven inch screen around christmas for the holidays, and maybe an update of the Ipad 2 that would include the retina display if it doesn't already have it. That update would be a downloaded update that could be put onto the current Ipad 2s

Also being an iPad buyer in August, I'm really happy that I bought it then even though there were rumors about the second one coming out in January. Looks like the third one will be coming out soon as well! Better to buy than wait. If anything, you can always sell what you have and upgrade.

Methinks if this rumor were true, then it would have been a huge oversight for 
to have underestimated the competition with this purported "iPad 1.5" -- considering what came of modern smart-phones after the original iPhone. It would be a grave mistake for them to release an second iPad with just a modest spec bump and expect to sustain or exceed demand. Hardly enough "wow-factor" to lure potential Xoom buyers and the like. I don't know, it just seems very un- to release a device only to release yet another much more capable device a few months later I say fiddlesticks to this rumor.

Apple is not releasing an iPad 1.5 and that is not what Gruber guessed. He said after the iPad there will be an iPad HD and they will both be on the market together for the cOming year.

These rumors have gotten beyond ridiculous. OF COURSE THIS IS FALSE. The logic would make no sense whatsoever.

Dumb question (which I asked elsewhere on this site). The iPad will get a media event; since the MBP refresh (whatever it is), likely won't, how is it announced tomorrow? The new models just appear on the website? Any specific time?

if newer ipad comes out next month then no retina display. if it indeed does get postponed until later this year then its getting retina display. its that simple
my guess is with all the speculation going around about whether the ipad will come out next month or later this year has to do with apple deciding whether it wants to release retina display
with all these newer tablets coming out apple might be finding themselves behind the curve if they just release a minor spec bump with a camera if indeed they plan to launch the newer ipad next month
