So what do y’all think about the gold??? I already have it in my hands and I’m still indecisive!!!
I was indecisive all day yesterday, but finally determined I didn’t like it. I went out to dinner with the fam last night and they all agreed.

Today I returned the gold Max and gold SS watch, and went with a silver Xs and silver SS watch. I like them much better!

  • The colour of anything has no bearing on your gender unless you're over-sensitive about that, in which case you need to talk to somebody qualified about that kind of thing.

  • In comparison to other iPhones, the 2018 gold is a thing of outstanding beauty, no matter who you are.

I was set on getting the gold until I went to the Apple Store today. Not sure if it was simply the over lighting in the store but came away disappointed. Back looked more rose gold/pink and the band looked odd. I wonder if I’d like it more in real world lighting conditions.

I wore the watch all evening along the the phone. The phone back changes depending on lighting. Like beige, salmon, pinkish, weirdish... I dunno I just didn’t end up liking it. And everyone I asked about the watch didn’t seem to like it. I’m much happier now that I exchanged them for silver.

Aaah i guess i have 14 days to make up my mind. I live about 3 hours from the nearest apple store so I’m not sure how I would do this. I don’t wanna drive all the way up to Atlanta.

It varies a lot. The back can look anything from a gold brick to a reddish white and the same goes for the band. Quite unique but I like it.

It’s all personal preference. The guy at the Apple Store loved it when I put it on, said it looked awesome and he doesn’t ever like gold. Meanwhile my sister didn’t like it when I asked her, and even said it looked kinda girly. Then I switched the Milanese band out to a black sport band, and she still said it was the gold that just isn’t working. Same things I kept thinking all evening. Also it turns out I don’t like the Milanese band anyway. It wasn’t comfortable, the edges kept poking me, couldn’t find a good balance between tight and loose (I like my bands to have a slight bit of wiggle room, rather than completely tight to where it leaves a mark)... just not a fan.

There are no feminine colors, as if human's created color. Color has existed billions of years before humanity arrived.

Computers and jobs didn't exist until humans created them, yet here we are, working 9-5 5x a week to get online and talk about our new $1k handheld computer.

Ran into this same problem last year with the 8+ gold. It was more the shock of taking what I thought was a gold color phone out my pocket in the grocery store to find it to be pink. Ended up with space gray. Never been a fan of these shifting colors. Gray is black, silver is white, and gold is pink, they need to quit being cute and misleading.

I love my gold iPhone XS Max. The band is the perfect mix of gold and copper. Not a huge fan of the muted gold shade on the back. But I always put dbrand wraps on the back of my phone, so that will be fixed soon.

Do you guys also argue with parents when they have pink balloons for their baby girls baby shower etc? Like it or not, pink is associated with the female gender. Now can I, a super cool dude pull of pink...in a second! But why should I have to when I’m buying a GOLD iPhone and not a PINK one? That’s the point here.

Was he an employee there? If so, then of course they're gonna say it looks amazing blah blah blah on you, they're trying to sell more products.

He didn’t have to sell me on anything. I was either getting a gold or a silver, and having a hard time deciding whether I liked the gold or just wanted to stick to the silver again.

I had the Rose Gold (pink) for a long time. I figured if Jamie Foxx had one then it must be cool. Afterall he got Tom Cruise ex-wife. LOL

Masculinity so fragile nowadays. Get whatever you want and don't worry about what other people will think. If you like the color and are happy with it, thats what matters most.
For real all these dudes thinking a gold phone challenges their masculinity. Just cringeworthy.

So I had the xs max in gold and I debated on keeping it for a few days. I liked the stainless steel part but the back of the phone looked almost rose gold to me in certain lighting. I tried but it’s just not my color, I switched to space grey and I’m much happier with my new phone now. Plus it matches my MacBook Pro better now.
