Honestly, I don't believe that the edit was even necessary. If someone can call heteros "weird" without adding some PC garbage, why can't jsw do the same? Too many double standards in this world.

I personally don't think that the "weird" coment was appropriate without some sort of qualification. I thought it was quite rude. But I'm sure it was just meant to be funny. At least I hope so.

BTW- two wrongs don't make a right either.

I agree, though I often use the "PC garbage" because I really don't feel like arguing with every single person in the world who takes offence to me.

That said I consider the people around here generally to be a cut above your average weirdo, and able to recognize the difference between a humorous play on words and a slur. :)

On the note of the bits going on between BV and edesignuk, how many of the young guys here prefer older women? or women prefering younger guys? if any....

I understand the point about not wanting to argue, but I think that being overly PC is offensive. You don't need to fabricate a new persona to participate in a lively discussion. I think people should just speak and act as they normally do, and if people take offense or don't like what you have to say, then they have the choice to not speak to them. Call it one of my pet peeves. ;)

And, to stay on topic, I am a straight white male eagerly awaiting my wedding da next year.

Age doesn't mean anything and I have dated from 7 years younger to 8 years older. I happen to be marrying a younger woman though.

"Bits going on", please don't mock our relationship like that.

Well, I'm willing to step forward and say that I prefer older women, given that my girlfriend is older than me.

Admittedly, she's only older than me by 16 days, but it all counts, right?

If the original thread was titled "Any homos here?" I don't think it would have reached over 1,600 posts. Probably be wastelanded in 30 minutes.

Therefore, I am offended to be called a hetero.

I find it odd that I prefer older men, but if I were forced to have sex with a woman (insert vomit smilie ;)), I'd choose a younger woman.

Well, someone's always going to be offended at something but since it's just you... <ducks> :p

Sounds like you're staving off a sex change operation. :p

because everyone should be allowed their own thread to discus whatever they want, so long as the mods dont get upset by the content.

I realize that, just doesn't make as much sense as the other thread of this nature I guess. I have not read through the entire Gay Thread, but I thought it was because a few members were feeling quite odd and lonely so they wanted to see if there were other homosexuals on MR (at least the initial forming of the thread). Having a hetero thread just seems silly to me, as someone else stated above that they would tend to assume someone is straight unless they inform them otherwise. To that point, like many others have said above....what does it matter?

My most successful relationship to date was with a woman nearly 6 years older than me. Lovely thing while it lasted but distance got between us and things declined from there eventually breaking us apart. She just recently was married and although I am truly happy for her, I find it a little odd....anyone else ever have a situation like that??

I would say I prefer older women mostly because at my age most of the women my age are immature and I don't feel like dealing with that.

I have been attracted to women substantially older than myself...most of my co-workers are 4+ years older than me, and there is one secretary in her early 40's who is univerally believed by everyone at work to be the hottest woman in the world of that age. Imagine hot, then click up a couple notches and that's her.

Didn't you know? It's a thread posting race between the heteros and the homos.

But on a humorous note, it's only a post every 6 minutes. Places like Slashdot get 10 posts per minute.

My longest relationship to date lasted just over two years, but like yours things just 'declined' (nice way to put it ;)). She got married a couple of weeks ago and like you, I'm very happy for her – in fact, me and the missus were guests at the wedding!

I am actually surprised at how slow this thread is moving. I thought that it would be almost twice as fast (post every 3 minutes). Maybe we need to add a little spice to this. Like what is the cheesiest hetero pick-up line that you have used or been used on you THAT ACTUALLY WORKED?
