I have just got a stuck pixel. It's stuck red and clearly visible on a white background. I can't unsee it now :(

My XR has been running fine since i got it monday. nothing really to complain about but i do sort of miss 3D touch. I thought taking photos of displays was a general issues with all smartphones? Isn’t it one of the reasons screen recording are more common now?

Guys is anyone noticing Bluetooth audio playback dropouts using their XR? I’ve come from a 6s and this was rock solid, but every 30 seconds or so I’m getting a very quick drop of sound then it returns, it’s happening whenever I’m bluetoothed to my car or my AKG headphones and streaming from Spotify. I’ve tested Spotify direct out of the phone speakers and all is well, so a definite Bluetooth issue? What’s the consensus?

I’ve been loving my Xr so far, got it on launch day. I haven’t had any issues other than my idiot self. Exactly one week after getting it it fell off a divider in my house and... well you can see in the attached pic what happened. It’s a very slippery phone, I hate using cases and it slipped off my night stand once while charging from notification vibrations. I’m really hoping my credit card purchase protection will help me out on this...

Please let me know what comes of this. I've always wondered if the credit card purchase protection will work in situations like this. I know it varies per card but I'd like to know what the experience is like and what kind of push back if any you get.

Thank you!

If your credit card is anything like mine, there may be two stipulations in this case; one, the full amount would have had to have been charged on the credit card, so no carrier subsidies or other forms of payments (ideally having bought the phone outright), and two, for accidentals (theft, loss, drops etc...) it would have to be within the first 90days which shouldn’t be an issue here as these were just released.

Concerning XR's haptic touch, Apple is bringing a new feature from 3D Touch: iOS 12.1.1 will let iPhone XR users expand notifications with Haptic Touch.
That’s good to hear. I suspected Apple would do it but you’re never really sure with them. That was the main reason for missing 3Dtouch on my XR.

No issues with BT audio streaming either with my car’s audio or with my Sennheiser PCX 550 headset. Spotify, tunein or iOS music app all playing rock solid.

That's most annoying. Can you return/exchange it?

Apple wanted me to send it in for repair but since I still had a day left on my return window I opted to return it instead and ordered a new one. It will arrive tomorrow, which will give me time to move my display protector over. It took me three tries to get it right, so I hope I will be able to get it right the first time on the new phone.

It's annoying, but it happens. Now I'll get to use one of the features I switched to iPhone for. The awesome backup and restore feature.

Btw, just noticed that the flashlight is very weak on my XR. Is that to be expected? My old Nexus 5X is at least 4 times as bright.

Glad you’re able to return and get a new one. Concerning the flashlight, it seems on par with my 6s and even older 4Sx but that’s my only reference for comparisons.

This is probably a silly question but have you tried increasing the flashlight’s intensity? There are 4 settings.

I’ve not had any Bluetooth trouble. Something happened the last couple of days that has me a bit concerned. My screen has become totally unresponsive in a couple of different apps. One was Animal Crossing Pocket Camp when I was trying to move furniture and the other was Apple News. I was trying to click on articles. I had to exit the News App and come back in.

Yes I’ve had this a few times now. I was able to resolve by closing the app mainly but a reboot was required a couple of days ago.

Yes, my screen has two spots where the finger print resistant coating is missing, or was so weak has worn off in less then a week, I think it was like it out the box but it didn’t show as it need my finger oil on the spots to show it.
Getting it swapped tomorrow for a new replacement.

I’m not getting any looks of envy in public with my XR, this really surprises me. What am I doing wrong? Should I return it?

Definitely return it. After all, why get a new phone if others aren’t going to be all envious about it, right? :)

My XS Max had improperly cured oleo phobic coating. It was slightly sticky like latex paint or nail polish that isn’t quite dry. I stuck a tempered glass display protector on it and all was taken care of that way. I’d never run across that issue before.

My Xr seems okay. It’s got a protector on it now anyway so I guess I wouldn’t know if it wasn’t. But it felt fine even before I covered the glass.

I can confirm that Haptic Touch on Beta 12.1.1 does indeed allow for expanding notifications. Glad to see this is back and it works as smooth as it did via 3D Touch in my opinion. It seems slowly but surely Apple will continue to expand Haptic Touch to do more and more.

No bluetooth issues and I use it on various speakers and headphones... I've never had it drop out or even cut out during use. This would indicate that something is up with your particular phone.

Glad this worked out for you. Screen protectors, I only purchase the ones now that come with the guide. They are so easy to install and usually they are pretty perfect in terms of alignment.

I think others have already mentioned this, the flashlight by default is on the lowest intensity. I initially was concerned about this myself until I realized that. Once I turned the intensity up it seemed okay.

I did purchase with a guide, bit it still managed to misalign the protector. Now I don’t want to waste my perfectly good screen protector, so I’m manually moving it over instead of trying the second one.

And regarding the flashlight I just assumed it would be full strenght when activated from the lock screen. I turned it up to full now, and that setting seems to stick for the lock screen toggle now. It still has nothing on my Nexus 5X but at least it’s a lot brighter than before. Thanks :)

Perhaps the 8 made you think you got large hands beacuase I would define large hands as being able to use the XR one handed.

So medium to large hands then?

Actually, I'm over 6 feet tall, they're fairly big hands.

I think it may depend on your definition of "using it one-handed."

I can type with one hand, no problem.

But are you easily able to touch every part of your phone screen, including the four corners, with the thumb of your hand holding the phone? If you can do this with relative ease, while holding the phone with the same hand, I'm impressed.

I definitely have large hands and I can't reach the top one handed. I have to readjust my grip to do that, use reachability or use another hand.

I could use my 6s one handed but often used two. I came to the XR expecting to use two hands but use one on occasion.
