dropped my phone from a couple of feet,
broke the Icemax. but hopefully the screen was saved.
how do i take it off? will it stay in one piece?
cracked icemax.jpg

i don't have another one though.
anyone maybe stmbled on the best deal today?
will have to put Daswise for the time being.
how big a difference to expect?

btw - can anyone recommend the most MINIMAL case but with at least a DECENT protection?
i have to switch to a more serious case, but hate all those bumpy thick ones!
wanna keep it minimal somehow AND to fit well with an edge to edge SP..
and NOT the leather case..
how does the Spigen Slim Armour fit with edge to edges?

thanks.

Wow. I hope your screen is fine, do update us after removal. Remove the broken protector from the top where it's still intact, it'll probably stay in one piece when you remove but do have a bin nearby to toss it into asap.

No the Spigen Slim Armor will not fit this, I tried it on mine upon seeing your question and it lifts the protector up. Spent quite a while to push those bubbles away again lol. Neo Hybrid might be safe as it has a narrower lip, my 2014 Neo Hybrid works perfectly.

I actually believe that this list for Cinder edge to edge case compatibility is pretty much applicable for Ice Max 3D.

Appreciate the feedback.
It seems I find It hard to understand how these cases cannot just be on top of the edges.
Maybe the Daswise will somehow work?
Already bought the Spigen so willing to test.

I got one of these based on the great reviews. For me, a got a beautiful alignment on my first try but had a almost full length right section that didn't adhere. No matter what I did, it wouldn't stay down. Off to the trash.

Has anyone used this thing with a Neo Hybrid?

I also dropped mine yesterday. I had the UAG case on. Luckily it's still intact. I'm still pissed.

well, took off the broken IcaMax (which indeed DOES NOT work with the Spigen Slim Armour, as said above. it also seems it won't work with the Neo Hybrid 2015, looks like the same tip as the Slim Armour).

anyway, the phone screen is perfect, not harm done.
at least the IceMax protected my sloppiness to the max.
luckily i have the Daswise ready to go, and it DOES fit perfectly inside the Spigen :)

* Daswise + Slim Armour applied perfectly.
but now my phone is so bulky and heavy :(

Alright. I got the icemax today and installed it. Got it aligned perfectly but I can't seem to get all the air bubbles out. I have a strip on the right size and a dime sizes bubble in the left side middle. Is it worth waited a couple days to see if they go away or should I contact gd smith now? I've installed two Daswise with zero bubble issues. I've been trying to work out these bubbles for 3 hours now.

Good luck. I had the same issues but could never get it to adhere correctly on the right side.

Lol. Can't win with these screen protectors. I had two Daswise which I thought fit nicely and felt great but they both chipped on me. I have a tozo case so maybe the raised edges were the issue. Got this icemax which feels amazing with the rounded edges (hoping it won't chip) but install sucks

got my icemax today and spend the whole morning trying to apply it. You guys are right... This SP is a pain to apply. But once done, it's very nice.

tips:
1) If the bubbles are very big, no amount of pushing is going to reduce them. It's because the fit is very precise... at first i thought the adhesive was not strong, then i thought it could be misfit causing the inner part of the SP not being flushed and in full contact with the iphone's glass screen. I tried different variations of fit, and it turns out a bit of alignment can remove the air bubbles on one side, but create air bubbles on the other sides. Which is why larger bubbles are always found at the edge, where the probability of not being full contact is the highest. So the problem is not about adhesive. It took me 10 tries to get the alignment perfectly flushed.

2) small bubbles can be fixed by pushing. But not by pushing outwards (which is the advice given in the booklet). This is a glass SP, pushing outwards is not going to work very well. The trick is to push the small bubbles downwards... HARD.

3) after you are done applying, before putting into the case, remember to push at the edge of the SP inwards to check lateral force will not force the SP up again, creating bubbles when you put into your case.

this is interesting..
the Daswise seems to be thinner than the IceMax.
it also makes a tiny difference on the screen usage.
the general touch sensitivity with the IceMax seems to have been effected.
it might be my imagination though.

I don't think you guys are working hard enough at installing these. I installed the screen protector in a steamy bathroom so there was no dust. Then I sat on the couch in front of the tv and used the cloth to massage all the air bubbles or unstuck pieces for about a half hour. Put it in an apple silicone case and it's beautiful.
You have to remember this isn't just a static screen protector and it's going to take a lot more work to get it perfect. Gotta work at it and give it a chance.

You may be right. I did the steamy bathroom technique and had no dust under mine. It appeared to be perfectly aligned. I only spent another 20 minutes working at it. I might have spent more time working at it but it was too thick for my preference as well.

The IceMax fits well with the Spigen Capsule
Soft-Flex I bought. However I don't see how there's any room for me to adjust the alignment to resolve my issue. I have the Touch ID and camera cut-outs centered ideally (not centering the front camera cutout could lead to vignette and this is not an acceptable workaround to getting a better fit). Thankfully the earpiece cutout is large enough to accommodate the positioning of the SP, but it's not centered. Nor is the ambient light sensor cutout. Frankly I think it's a tolerance issue on Godosmith's end. It's a really nice SP otherwise.

I've requested a replacement from the company (bought through Amazon) and hope that it's been delivered by the time I return home from my holiday vacation.

Is there a list of cases that are compatible with the Ice Max 3D? I've been trying different cases lately and they've all caused the screen protector to lift.

There's no list that I can think of.

I can confirm it works with the Apple Leather case and the Urban Armor Gear.

Another user in the forum used it with a Spigen Thin Fit.

I paid $25 for This One at Verizon. The store installed it for me on the spot and did a perfect job. For the first time in four years I dropped my iPhone the other day. The screen protector broke when the phone landed face down on a small stone in a driveway but the phone screen itself was still perfect. Tempered glass saves the day! This protector is not nearly as nicely designed as some others folks are talking about, but they're available right now and they work!

What are you using now? If this doesn't work I'll probably go non edge to edge and be done with it.
I went back to my old faithful - Benks ultra thin edge to edge. Others claim this type of protector picks up dust at the edges but I've never noticed it. I think due to the ultra thinness I've never had one that doesn't adhere perfectly every time. On my last install I kept getting specks of dust underneath so I totally removed it and used a lint roller on both the screen protector and screen and then laid it down again. Worked like a charm - no dust. I wish I could find a super thin clear case with lay down protection. Haven't yet found this combination.

Happened to try on the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Tech today as I had it laying around (due to incompatibility with my previous Spigen full cover screen protector). To my surprise it actually works very well due to the sides being somewhat more flexible. No lifting of screen, etc.

The best place to get this piece of glass would undoubtedly be from aliexpress for now. Haven't seen anywhere else listing it at a cheaper price than there.

Only if you're willing to wait a month to get it.
