It appears mine is coming from an Apple store in Pennsylvania. No idea if this means it'll be brand new or if it'll be one that a customer returned over the weekend. If it's not brand new I'm going to be pissed.

just got my tracking...coming from middletown pa, which near harrisburg pa

I received my express replacement today and it came in with the white box. Not the full retail packaging box. Since it's still very early, I don't think this is a refurb phone. Though I was hoping to have gotten the full retail packaging box since that is what the applecare rep told me that I should be expecting. But eh this will do for now.

You can check it, does the model number comes with M?

There really shouldn't be any "real" new phones they should all be new...its only 4 days old. Impossible to ship all those back to rework in that short amount of time. The white box phones are usually always N model numbers and now if you have one if you look up the serial number info you will see it might have been produced earlier than your original device you received.

In my local forum people report they got second hand replacement, look like it is returned phones in last few days and with dirt on surface, some have monitor problem like dead spot then need to return again. Many people retrun their phones without giving a reason and get refund, then apple would not consider those phones have problem and dont even check.

Same place as mine, then. Let's hope this is where they ship their extra-pristine, double-inspected perfect replacements from...

well postive note, i have had i think 2 iphone and 2 ipads express from there and they have all been quality, so think we will be good

I noticed when I shake my 6s is rattles a little, is that the camera lens and is that normal? Do you guys get this as well?

I just got an iPhone 6S (terrible in-store experience purchasing it today) and turned it on only to discover that the top left 1/4 of the screen is about 30-40% darker than the rest. Super annoying and I'll be returning it within 14 days if it doesn't resolve by itself. Also the color temp uniformity is off left-to-right. Back to my iPhone 6 for now. The 6S is 10% heavier too, you can really feel the difference in your hand and in your pocket, so I'm not even sure I'll get another one when I return the defective unit.

I bought a brand new iPad Mini 4 last week and the display is perfectly uniform, but there are two scratches in the glass by the home button.

Apple really needs to work on quality control.

Same here, the search bar in safari is different colour from left to right!

I'll just post here instead of making a new thread because the forums are probably going to blow up later today. I took a quick look at the phone when I opened the box and noticed this pry mark near the charging port. And the aluminum is bent. It's hard to get a good photo of it. Chances of them replacing it with one that isn't like this? I've never had to take one back because they are usually good.

try rubbing it

got two 6 plus 128GB, both have a blueish tinge on left edge of screen, almost like the book spine effect frequently seen on the ipad air 2s, not as bad but noticeable. One of them has noticeable and truly unacceptable backlight bleed on the lower left hand side.

One one of them the apple logo is not quite flush with the back case and feels like its petruding a tiny bit, and on the right top side of teh upper antenna break, the space grey finish looks damaged.

i am going to return the one with the backlight bleed immediately and maybe try to exchange for a 6s; the other i will keep for at least a few days as I am still unsure whether I want to stick with the plus.

BTW, the image stablization on the plus is AMAZING and right now is the thing giving me the most pause in gonig back to a 6S size.

It was also amazing how tiny my 6 felt after only an hour or so with the plus.
u find the plus to big?

Had a SG 6s plus for 3 days , worked without any issues

Suddenly yesterday i got vertical lines over the screen , hardware defect :( , returned it and got a new one

Let us know how your new one looks....Did you happen to look what week of production it was?

Well, so far, after 3 checks, no dead pixels! And no noticeable changes in backlight!
But it is noticeably blue-er than the previous one.

But if it is dead pixel free, and my eyes are not deceiving me - I'm keeping it.

How do I know the production week?

I've been a huge purchaser of many Apple products since 2006 and I have my first defect on a product. The home button on my 128 GB 6s Plus does not work unless you press it firmly. When you press it on the normal to soft side, you can still feel the distinctive click, but it does not register and actually do anything unless you press down harder. Only my other iPhones, the home button works once you feel or hear the definitive click on the home button. I'm going to wait a few weeks and let the initial iPhone launch surge settle down before taking it in to have it swapped out.

For anyone reading this thread that's not familiar with how internet forums work, don't let this thread discourage you. Products on internet forums tend to get way more complaints than praises because even though there are probably hundreds of happy people to every one person that has a gripe, the satisfied people don't tend to post because they are off doing other things whereas the people with problems are usually seeing out an answer. Also, the quality of Apple's products are superior to other companies, but as with anything in manufacturing, there will be occasional defects. The great news is that Apple is one of the best companies in the world at taking care of their customers.

So, the production info on my original 6S is: Production week : -37- (September)
Factory: FK (China, Zhengzhou - Foxconn)

My replacement arriving today is: Production week : -35- (September) Factory: F4 (China, Shanghai - Pegatron-Protek)

So my original was later in production than the new one...Going to try not to jump to any conclusions.

That is not unusual to hear...that's why I asked if the person receiving it could post. Just goes to show that these are still brand new phones and there are no refurbished/reworked yet so early in the life cycle.

How do we know it's going to be brand new? Isn't it possible it's a phone that was returned over the weekend and sent to me as the replacement?

You just said your new one was production week 35. That was at the end of August. It wasn't even released yet how could it be returned?

Huh? That's when it came off the assembly line...then shipped last week to someone for launch...then returned over the weekend.

The same way my original, which was made in September, was owned by me first, now is being returned, could be owned by someone as their replacement eventually.

Your ridiculous...just use your phone and enjoy it. It has been out 5 days. No way will they have time to rework returns. They can't even keep up with demand of new purchases let alone returns which they already have an allotment from launch. Your misguided if you think they just take your return and pop it in a white box.
