I got a Genius Bar appointment in a couple hours.

I'm really nervous
Report back how it goes. Some tips: if you do get a replacement, inspect the phone, check for any defects before you walk out the store. Don't accept anything that is imperfect to you.

Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do.

If it's worse I'm going to ask for my original/current one back

I'm wondering how many times I should dip my toes into this territory

Once maybe twice?

I'm also wondering if I should bring my 6+ in my pocket as well just in case as another reference device

Hi all,

Some issues here, my second 6s (the first one had a bad screen), the second have some dust inside the camera lens, and this issue around four corners and at some places on the back. A gap between the plastic antennas and the aluminum.

Some of you have this issue ? It's not a big issue, but I think it should be perfect.

I am totally not going to eyeball my phone anymore. Finally got mine figured out with the freezing and bad battery life. Now it's perfect. After the Apple store tried to swap it out and the unit they were giving me had a dead pixel, I'm definitely not playing phone roulette with exchanges.

My replacement has no yellow blotch in the corner,

solid power button too woo hoo

looking at it, my 6+, and replacement 6s+ all looked different tinge. hard to say

I hope this swap game can be done :D

I don't think you can. AFAIK they have to return your old one before they can open/issue the replacement one. Once this happens, the replacement one is your phone, not the old one.

An issue with the replacement would result in a further return/replacement. They can't give you back a device that's considered faulty (by your own definition, because that's why you are swapping it)

i was pretty transparent, the person who helped me said she couldn't go rifling through replacements.

i said i want one shot and then if not ill just wait a few months to try my luck again, she hesitated, then opened the box and let me examine the phone with wrap on and breezing past the set up prompts, and I said I'll take it

Good enough (I think, I hope) i'm getting less picky as I get older

Problem with the store is everything looks great under their lighting. However, get it home and BAM! Had that with several ipads.

That happened to me on the 6 Plus. Replacement was good at the apple store, moment I got home, noticed an issue.

I just ordered for replacement at Apple Store. They didn't have my model in the stock so they have placed an order. In how many days did you get your replacement?

White box.

Not sure, the model number starts with N. I feel like my retail one was M.

But its a week 38 from punching it in, my original was week 37. that's still mid September, before the phone was released. I think it's safe to say its new, unless someone at Foxconn got a loaner and was fiddling with it for a bit, in which case you win (and deserve it, that job must be really depressing)

..but they are designated with a different model number. Maybe so apple can keep track of it better from inventory standpoint, idk.

I also had no choice, got my phone through a 2 year at att store and they won't be getting any more in any time soon. a few stores said they only got a few and that was launch day only :/

that and restocking fee, no thanks!

Mine kept the replacement and my original on the table. The replacement had a dead pixel and they had no other units, so I walked away with my original. I'm happy I did. It works perfect now.

Only asked them to reinstall my OS.

Sent my 6S back today. Screen was much darker ( a little bit of blue-ish) at the top. Really dissapointing for such an expensive device =/

okay. i think it will be replacement phone. i hope i get it before next friday(that is the day i can return my phone for full price).

Now I am really conflicted after reading some of these posts and how bad some of the screen colors have been. I have a 6s Plus with what I would say is a mix of a dead pixel and a little damage, since there is a little hair line of black above the pixel. It isn't all that noticeable, but it bothers me, more in the thought that my device has a defect. The screen is otherwise great. I may try to return it to at&t tomorrow, or just wait a month or two and use it to get a warranty replacement when things settle down. Thoughts?

Returning to att will mean waiting a while for another s plus if you plan on getting another from them.

And incurring 35 restocking fee.

They will waive the $35 restocking fee since it is a defect, I already chatted with them. The wait is fine, since it looks like it is less than a week for my model, but the possibility of getting something worse is what is making me hesitate.

My original 6S was also a week 37 from Foxconn, and my ERS 6S (coming from PA) is a week 35 from Pegatron.

As many others have pointed out, I truly doubt the replacements could be refurbished. Even in your scenario above, there just would not be time to have someone get it on a Friday, return it to a store or Apple that same day or Saturday, have it make it's way to PA by Monday, be inspected, reboxed, and shipped out Monday.

Finally got around to opening my replacement last night (back from a biz trip). Rock solid as far as I can tell. None of the issues being discussed in the forums.

My 6S screen is noticeably darker in the upper half. Measured it with a colorimeter just to make sure I'm not imagining things. About 480 candela in the lower half, 430 in the upper. I find that difference unacceptable on such a small screen. For comparison, my iPhone 6 has a difference of only 8 candela.
What kind of colorimeter do you have?

I've never in history got a factory defect. I've been pretty luck. Well, I don't know if battery life is s factory defect but I've been unlucky I couple of times in regards to battery life issues but other than that I've been good.
