So I called Apple and they wanted to charge me £29 for UPS to send an Express Replacement Shipment. This was after I demanded it too, as the Apple droid wanted me to send the device in for testing first. No chance. I told him this was not to go down as a warranty call, 14 days, blah blah. In the end I had to terminate the call as I was late for an appointment, and didn't have any more time for his Apple sucky sucky BS. "Oh no, I couldn't possibly imagine a day without my iphone sir". - Seriously? Are all Apple droids on happy pills?

Think I'll just wait for my second purchase to arrive next week. I don't think my patience can go another round with them just now.

LOL, they say the exact same thing to me. This is usually in chat. I always reply "Please talk like a human, not a robot" and they always laugh and say sorry.

I told them I wanted the $29 fee waived, and after escalating to a senior agent, they did just that!

So i bought a 6s Plus. whenever i try using Facebook Messenger on speaker phone it gives a rattling sounds. i tried the Phone app and it was working fine. Tried playing music as well and it seemed fine. Anyone else facing this problem?

Update: i just tried skype and it generated the same problem.Anyone else facing this issue?

Google Hangouts same thing, I put a caller on speaker and they sounded like a robot villain. I guess it's some software issue, because otherwise speaker and sound from videos works just fine.

As far as factory defects in this thread, I got a crunchy home button. If you imagine the home button split down the middle to make half moons, putting pressure on the right side sounds totally fine, but pressure towards the left sounds like something is scratching up against another component underneath. Verizon 6S 64gb. Stopped by my carrier's store, who said I'm insane. Stopped by a Verizon dealer, who said I've definitely got an issue. Called the 1-800 number, and they're shipping me a replacement.

I have a phone with a defect too. I got the same thing about the $29 shipping for a replacement or take it to a Genius Bar, to which there are no appointments available until next week. Is there any reason I can't just walk in to an Apple Store and return it and buy a new one? I want a brand new retail one anyway. Is there a way to check if they have stock?

I have AppleCare plus so I won't get a 29$ fee but I'm probably gonna exchange my 6s plus as there is dust underneath the screen. This has happened for the past four iPhone for me. What's up with QC, Apple?

Initiated the replacement express Saturday and I still have not received a tracking #...

Well, I can't get my 6s replaced through Tmo for the same one because I'm on JoD. Apparently their system doesn't allow exchanges for the same exact device. I'm going to have to go through Apple...

Hold on parts? They should have plenty of replacements available as they are still brand new phones that are set aside for production for this issue. Not sure what parts have to do with it, there is no way they are refurbishing anything yet its been 4 days and can't even keep up with the current demand let alone reworking phones.

as someone who is waiting to pick up a later batch of the 6S to possibly lower the potential risk of a factory defect, when should I order? I was going to hold out until closer to Christmas, but I'm not sure if I can make it that long ;)

I would just go ahead and get it now...its a mass produced item, it will never be perfect. There is always a chance of problems regardless of when you purchase. Plus if you wait, you will lose out a few months of enjoying your new device.

I believe hold on parts more likely means additional new phones, not "parts."

I wanna replace my device but I gotta wait about 5 more days cause I'm waiting for an unlock code for it so it's unlocked and I get an unlocked replacement, they should still have new ones at that point I'm guessing?

yes me too what i was led to believe.. also maybe they been using replacement stock too keep up demand..
It's hard to believe they are using them as replacement stock as they are preboxed in the plain white boxes during production. They would have to have them all sent back and repackaged in retail boxes. Just seems like a lot of hassle but ya never know....

Model number starts with M or something else? That shows if it is real new or not.
There really shouldn't be any "real" new phones they should all be new...its only 4 days old. Impossible to ship all those back to rework in that short amount of time. The white box phones are usually always N model numbers and now if you have one if you look up the serial number info you will see it might have been produced earlier than your original device you received.

So I got my tracking, which is FedEx next day, but is there a way I can sign for this so they leave it at my door while I'm at work? The option to sign in advance is grayed out...Is there a way around that?

Used the online chat option Saturday, got the $29 fee waived and just now got my tracking number that it was shipped out today next day via Fedex. Only problem is I can't pre-sign for it and wont be home when FedEx shows up...

lucky u...i did mine on friday...just got off another chat on why i havent heard anything, there after 30 mins "was an issue with my replacement processing" they are gonna push it thru now

It appears mine is coming from an Apple store in Pennsylvania. No idea if this means it'll be brand new or if it'll be one that a customer returned over the weekend. If it's not brand new I'm going to be pissed.

Please let us know if the replacement is brand new or not. Also, what day did you initiate the replacement? I chatted online with Apple Saturday and I haven't received my tracking number yet.
I received my express replacement today and it came in with the white box. Not the full retail packaging box. Since it's still very early, I don't think this is a refurb phone. Though I was hoping to have gotten the full retail packaging box since that is what the applecare rep told me that I should be expecting. But eh this will do for now.
