Same here, the search bar in safari is different colour from left to right!

So does mine. It goes from a nicotine stained yellowish brown to a nice cool blue white. More pronounced at the top left on mine yet the entire effect is present in the screen from left to right. You can see it on the white screens with black text. Pretty much everywhere in ios's UI.

I believe this phenomenon is called dirty screen effect and it's very common on LCD screens and it's especially common on thin edge lit ones like the iPhone 6 and 6S's use. Apple's standards for acceptable uniformity must be pretty low and they want to push out as many devices as they possibly can. Many people don't notice the dark bands or yellowish brown areas or simply don't care. I'm sure there are way more "bad" screens than good ones out there. When I say bad I mean not uniform. Until Apple ups its standards or changes screen tech I'm sure there will be many more fugly screens since I see the same issue with the 6's coming from the 6.

Huh? That's when it came off the assembly line...then shipped last week to someone for launch...then returned over the weekend.

The same way my original, which was made in September, was owned by me first, now is being returned, could be owned by someone as their replacement eventually.

My original 6S was also a week 37 from Foxconn, and my ERS 6S (coming from PA) is a week 35 from Pegatron.

As many others have pointed out, I truly doubt the replacements could be refurbished. Even in your scenario above, there just would not be time to have someone get it on a Friday, return it to a store or Apple that same day or Saturday, have it make it's way to PA by Monday, be inspected, reboxed, and shipped out Monday.

Is this normal behavior on a 6S Plus model?

If you are working with a white background and tip the top of the phone down, coming from the top edge of the screen, above the menu bar and coming down are black marks, semicircles. Looks a bit like the opposite of blacklight bleed, instead of white on a black background, these are darker marks on a white background.

Does any of yours do this, if you tip the phone down and look towards the edge of the top?

Thanks.

Well, so far, after 3 checks, no dead pixels! And no noticeable changes in backlight!
But it is noticeably blue-er than the previous one.

But if it is dead pixel free, and my eyes are not deceiving me - I'm keeping it.

How do I know the production week?
Same here no dead pixels but little blueish color my 6+ last year color was perfect

My 6S screen is noticeably darker in the upper half. Measured it with a colorimeter just to make sure I'm not imagining things. About 480 candela in the lower half, 430 in the upper. I find that difference unacceptable on such a small screen. For comparison, my iPhone 6 has a difference of only 8 candela.

I had a weird crunching sound when I was hitting the home button (posted earlier in this thread) - just got my replacement phone and home button is perfect. But what absolutely floored me is this: the phone with the messed up home button had a yellow tint that is very visible once placed next to the replacement phone... which I did not pick up on at all because the messed up phone was slightly less yellow than my old 5S display. So even though I thought some of the yellow/blue tint debate was a bit too OCD, I was surprised to find myself staring at 3 varieties of screens.

Man,

wrestling with what to do, got phone w/ 2 year contract at at&t store. if i return, i have to eat $35 restocking fee, wait for eligibility to reset and more stock (could be a while, hassle), and hope to not get one that's worse

or genius bar appt available sunday or monday at the earliest,

I like the screen quality in general, construction and buttons feel great including side and home button, hmm

At 100 percent brightness look at bottom left

I've tried massaging it out, with no luck:

top left, reduced exposure when taking the photo to capture it. also found a few dead pixels, granted not stuck and staring me down, but I found them :(

in portrait, signal bars seem to hide that blotch. in landscape browsing, my OCD kicks in

I don't know that i want to do lottery hell.

I sitll have my 6+ too that's pretty close in tint, maybe the 6s+ is warmer but not bad or dingy by any means, and I don't really want to return to 1gb land but it is on 8.4 and jailbroken.

My SG 64GB 6S+ has a small nicks on the aluminum right by the antenna line on the top right corner. Everything else is perfect, especially the screen so not sure if I'm going to get it replaced. :(

That's horrible...damn...get it replaced!

Hmm my 6s Plus is week 38; Foxconn (Factory F2) I don't see any issues so far with mine. No odd behavior either (found out I have a TSMC chip for my A9)

I've got a spot of something under my screen and a black spot on my antenna band that won't wipe off.

64GB Rose Gold 6S+

I got a defect and exchanged it on Tuesday morning for a brand new one hassle free at the Apple Store.

My phone had vertical lines on the front glass. About 5 spaced out dark lines that look like a shadow. From top of the bezel all the way to bottom of the bezel. It was totally weird and first time I've ever bought a product that was in that small percentage of defective products.

With all the issues you read about with the screens...if you have a good one take it and run. That is the most important part of the phone.

That's my thinking and also it's hard to find a replacement here.

Hi all,

Some issues here, my second 6s (the first one had a bad screen), the second have some dust inside the camera lens, and this issue around four corners and at some places on the back. A gap between the plastic antennas and the aluminum.

Some of you have this issue ? It's not a big issue, but I think it should be perfect.

Seriously...nothing is perfect. Don't get worked up over small things

My 6s+ SG has rippled effect at the very top. Hard to see unless you look at an angle, but it is starting to bug me. Other people have said that is the backlight and it's "normal". I find that hard to believe. Waiting for the crowds to die down before heading to the Apple store to have it looked at. Every. Single. Year. Last year it was dead pixels. And why I continue to buy AC+.

Thanks for posting about this. I have this too. I haven't seen too many write about it, I wish more would check their phones and report back to us, so that we knew how widespread it is. I agree with you, for the prices of these, you'd think we wouldn't have quite so much to worry about on them.

Let us know what you find out and if you can see it on display models. I hope others will continue to post if they have it or not.

Yeah, that will be replaced. These screens have defects, just the way it is. All Apple can do is replace yours until you get an acceptable unit.

I'm returning mine for this very reason. Mine's dark above the carrier bars. New one arrives today, hopefully without flaws.
