My battery shows erratic behaviour. Let's say I have 90% left, after putting it on my Belkin Qi it instantaniously jumps to 95% charge, after using the phone for a few seconds, it jumps back to 90%. I've seen cases when pluggin in the lightning cable it immidiatly show two extra % charge. Never had this before with other Apple cases. Anyone else has seen this behaviour? [OCD mode off]

Yes I have also noticed odd percentage jumps. I’ll see how it behaves over the coming days. Maybe it will settle down after a few charges or it could even just be a software issue.

I’m having odd percentage jumps as well and I could of sworn the older cases showed both battery icons together while on the lock screen? Or was that when the case is actually charging the phone? I can’t remember and my phone is still at 100% so I can’t test it yet.

If you add the battery widget, you’ll be able to see both battery icons with %. I had to do that

I wonder the same thing. I have a feeling that even though it is showing "0%" it isn't completely empty. At least I hope so - otherwise you're right, if it is doing complete cycles I wonder how long the battery will last.

I will say though, I'm VERY happy with it - I'm sitting at 93% after a full day (and I used the phone a LOT today).

I think so too. It’s probably smart enough to not completely get to 0 as to not damage the battery.

Picked up a white one for my xs Max at the apple store in Indianapolis. They have tons.

Anyway, I got it home, charged it and was using the phone with it on. I feel that it takes away from the sleekness of the iPhone, makes the phone feel twice as heavy, and doesn’t fit in pants pockets where my max with leather case easily go.

Cool concept. Just too thick imho. Ymmv

Upgraded from the 7+ to the Max earlier. I liked my 7+ but the restarts became annoying and I decided to take advantage of the apple trade in promotion. Used part of the $300 I got back towards the apple battery case and so far I like it. I’m happy with my purchase.

EDIT: So while I like the apple battery case, I decided to try the zerolemon 8000 mah case from amazon, which I like even better so far so I returned the apple battery case to the apple store. Hoping I keep this big bad boy.

I'm leaning toward the white (Space grey XS Max). Anyone who has seen both have input?

My thought is that either color case will suit either of the XS color iPhones. I’ve only just ordered my case (I picked black), so I’m only able to use online images and video to gauge my opinion at this stage though. Apple’s images show the stainless steal ring around the camera on the back with the case on and I think all combinations work, so it’s just a matter of personal color preference.

I had a white silicone case. It is really nice but shows dirt ALL the time. And if your hands are dirty You constantly have to whipe it down as the dirt smears over the case.

The status bar battery icon is always showing the charging indicator when the battery case is on. Is this normal?

Yes because the case is essentially charging the phone all the time until it runs out of power, then leaving your 100% phone charged to use its power.

I feel like these cases have been ready to go for a while now. Maybe that’s why they come completely dead?

Feels good in hand and frankly was expecting it to weigh more/ be more bulky. Contours nicely to hand. Not sure about long term yet but we’ll see; initial impressions good. Silicone is a dang lint magnet.

I just exchanged the white I got with a black.

Two random purple spots which look like smeared ink appeared overnight around the Apple logo. I’m pretty sure I didn’t cause it!?!? I only had it charging overnight on a wireless charger.

For some reason the quality of the white silicone has changed since the 6s and 7 days. I had white silicone cases back then and they were pristine after one year.

Last year I got one for my X and that also had blemishes on it after 2 weeks.

So my case is on and the icon in the upper right on the phone is always showing charging. Even if both battery and phone are at 100%. I think that can’t be right.

Seeing the same thing here FYI Im going to wait for full test playtime until the case is at 100%

This is correct.

It’s becuase the power in the case is used first and since your phone is essentially plugged into the case, the charging icon won’t change until the case is dead.

This has been mentioned many times in the thread FYI

Kinda finicky to get the thing to start charging and recognize it from being dead dead. Had to plug case in then slide phone in
