I think I’m ending up the opposite. However, I have the XSM. I’ve been waiting for what seems like an eternity for 3rd party usb-c cables (I need 10’) so I can charge quickly when I get home. But now that I have the case, I don’t think I’ll need it. The phone now lasts easily all day, and just charge while I’m asleep.

I’m thinking it’s a choice of one or the other, not necessarily need both.

Of course, it would have been cheaper to go the fast charge route.

Lol. Yes. It is def cheaper for the usb c charger. However, still not cheap. But because it came first, it’s what I got. But having no fear of ever having to charge during the day is very appealing to me. I fly a lot so that fear is real. lol

Hopefully an easy software fix. Seems like a software/calibration issue. How many full recharge cycles have you done?

I hope so. I just did my first recharge cycle. We'll see if that fixes it. I also hope Apple fixes the phone turning on when you turn it off to charge when the phone is in the case.

I'm struggling somewhat with the Smart Battery Case for my iPhone Xs max. I use the Samsung non-fast wireless charger and it's really hard to tell exactly where to put the phone for the case to charge? Having the same placement as before does not seem to work anymore and the Smart Battery Case won't always show in the battery widget so it's hard to say if I'm actually at the right spot for the charging or not.

I picked up one tonight in white for my XS Max. First thoughts....its big/heavy, but to be expected and not outrageous. If you like the silicone cases you'll like this, look and feel is exactly the same. Tomorrow will be my first full day with it. I'll put my phone through the ringer and report back tomorrow night!

BTW, if anyone is wondering about screen protectors fitting, I have a full tempered glass 3D (edge to edge) and it fits perfect with no issues.
How’s the lint magnet issue?

From what I've read, the sweet spot is the middle of the phone, not the middle of the battery hump. I don't have the battery case, so I can't confirm.

Yes! Place it the same as you did before the case. Took me a bit to figure it out, but now it’s pretty simple. I kept trying middle of the bump, never worked. Place it how I normally did, works.

Noticed this too when I unplugged it, the indicator reported 98%. After few hours of using, then is read 99%. So definitely a calibration issue.

I’m noticing now on my 3rd full charging cycle things improved allot and I get serious performance from the Apple smart case. Outside of the silicon it’s the best charging case I’ve used for any iPhone totally worth the cost with the amount of traveling I do. Right now I’m getting over 14+ hours on the case with fairly constant use of my XS Max. All in I’d say 2 days maybe more on a single charge then using the XS Max battery
Could be wrong on stats but that’s my estimate
Charging with USBC to lighting on my charger gets the case fully charged under an hour or so

Held one today and it was much better than I thought. I had the 6s battery case and assumed by the looks this one would be just too heavy and unwieldy. Felt pretty good to me.

Just ordered one for my XR to be picked up tomorrow. Had a $25 gift card that I really didn't have anything else to spend it on so I figured why not. I know I will get use out of it.

Running a test now on 12.1.3 with the Smart Apple battery case. It was at 60% so I fully charged it with USBC cable. Going to see if the software upgrade released today improves or degrades the case at all. Will report back tomorrow on results. Previously on 12.1.2 I would get over 12 hours usage

They've improved it significantly over the previous gen. I just hate the lint.I'm also not sure it provides a lot of protection for the screen if it falls flat on the face of the phone. The phone doesn't sit deep in the case.

Has the same lip for the screen as Caudabe products as well as some of the Element cases and similar to some Otter box cases. I run a glass screen protector and it fits nicely and leaves space from lip to screen whereas allot of the cases today are flush from lip to screen with a protector on.

I don't know about lint as I have the Black color and it's been in my pocket in and out and not one lint has ever stuck on my case at all. More interesting thing is that it's my screen that is attracting lint instead. Weird.

My case arrived late yesterday (XS Max) and I’m on my first full charge. It’s now 3pm in eastern Australia and my battery case is at 72%. I’m very happy with that. I haven’t been using my iPhone constantly or anything, but have loaded a few games and used Tapatalk and Facebook. I usually play a lot of video podcasts, but haven’t had a chance yet today.
I was using the Apple leather rear case, which collected no lint. The differences are that this case has more grip and a comfortable feel. It is a lot heavier and does collect a bit of lint, but the extra battery is worth the trade off, besides I can switch back to my leather case for evenings out and probably still be at full charge when I do so. So I’m really happy with the case.

Took XS Max with battery case off charger this morning both at 100%.

Standard normal usage all day. Instagram every hr or so, web browsing, watched 30 mins of live streaming of the tennis. 6am to 7.30pm and I just used up the battery case battery.

Phone battery shown as charging overnight but just at 100% throughout the day when I took it off the charger.

Very happy with my purchase.

Using the 29W charger my case has gone from 0% to 30% in just under 20 minutes. Really fast, just got it about an hour ago. Excited to have one, a product I missed dearly from my iPhone 7!
