You can move some photos over. And just pretend to use the non functional phone, the kid will want that and give that to em. Or like someone else suggested, just say NO. You are the parent after all. Sure at first they will have hissy fit. Just don’t give in. Pretty soon start taking away other privileges. They will get the message quick enough. Just have to brave it out. Train em in private and wear ear plugs.
Yeah, I’m managing it fine, but thanks for the advice. But on occasion he gets it when we aren’t looking.

I so badly want to go nekkid but... the silicon case just feels so great and makes handling the phone a LOT easier. <cough>. :(

I used my 12 without a case for several days until I received my case from Amazon.
The phone looks fantastic with the clear case on. And it is much easier to hold for longer period of time. The fingers are not as stressed with the case.

I'm going gold, and plan on doing a screen protector only. Need to find a good edge to edge (not a stupid notch cutout). I have used Elecshion in the past. Any other good recommendations out there?

I'll snag an encased case for running or other times.
I got the ESR one on Amazon and it’s superb. Edge to edge with no notch cutout. Have not noticed any reduction in front camera quality being covered in the glass.
Can recommend it for sure

For those of you with the new 12 pro, could you tell me how you would compare its grip to the xs? I hate using cases. However its a must with my xs. I cant even sit the thing on the arm of the sofa without it slowly slipping off. If i sit down in sweats or gym shorts it comes straight out of my pocket and it just feels super slippery in hand. I dont really need to update but if the square edges and the phone in general would allow me to go caseless it would be well worth it. My apple store is still closed because of covid so i cant go check any out, and im not sure i even really want to touch a display model anyway.

So is the 12 or the 12 pro less slippery with no case, 12?
silicone case is almost like wearing a rubber glove. It is far more comfortable than naked if I am holding it for longer than a few minutes.
Apple's MagSafe was very slippery. It was more slippery than the phone itself.
It was almost as slippery as naked iPhone Xs.

This phone (iPhone 12 PM Gold) is too beautiful to be in a case. I may use a sleeve pouch or a screen protector.

What about you guys ?

I've never used a case on any of my phones. I follow a few rules, keeps the phone in pristine shape, and I get to see/touch/feel that beautiful device instead of a cheap piece of plastic all day every day.

I’m going caseless. If I get anywhere near needing to use the 2 incidents of accidental damage that AC+ covers in the first year, I’ll consider a case. Until then, I find the phone alone to be much nicer than one with a case!
I agree so much. More then any iphone I’ve ever had this is the one that with a case it feels old, dated and boring and without a case it feels hip new elegant and amazing. Obviously I went for apple care and I’m loving no case , I won’t go back anytime soon

I am asking about the phone itself not with a case.

which is better naked ie less slippery 12 or 12 pro, matt sides v stainless steel
I don't have a pro.
But I would think polished SS surface would provide more contact friction with finger tips than matte aluminum with micro dimples.
However, 12 pro is heavier so the gain in friction may be neutralized by larger gravitational force.
So I would think they are about the same.

Would the black 12 have better grip than the 11 pro? Sick of buying and selling cases on and off for the whole year lol. Never find one i am happy with.

I’m going to go caseless at home and use either a thin Spigen or Totallee clear case. I have a Totallee think clear case on my XS Max and it’s so thin, that I’ve had coworkers ask why I don’t have a case on my phone.
Does it yellow?

Definitely 100%.
11 pro is heavier than Xs while having similar body design. And my Xs was heavier and a lot more slippery than my 12.

Sweet, i just want lighter, better grip, piff off the cases and have a cheaper phone with AC+.

I don’t drop my phones but I’m always worried about the one time I might. That said, right now I’m using a Ringke Fusion case and it’s pretty slim, but I might go caseless at least when I’m home.

Never used a case and screen protector with a phone.
The case trend I think started during iPhone 4 when Apple shipped a band like case before that most people used phones without case
