I'm going gold, and plan on doing a screen protector only. Need to find a good edge to edge (not a stupid notch cutout). I have used Elecshion in the past. Any other good recommendations out there?

I'll snag an encased case for running or other times.

I got the ESR one on Amazon and it’s superb. Edge to edge with no notch cutout. Have not noticed any reduction in front camera quality being covered in the glass.
Can recommend it for sure
+1 for the ESR on from Amazon. I got a clear case + 2 screen protectors for C$17.99, and very pleased with both! The screen protector is edge to edge - was honestly my first time ever putting one on, and it was pretty straightforward (comes with a plastic tool).

Never understood why people have a problem with that. No, you can't have my phone. Problem solved.
Haha, yeah as @Geckotek mentioned, it's more that they sometimes sneakily grab it when I'm not looking (and it's on a table or something). My youngest is 2yrs old, and she's in that curious + more dextrous + developing an attitude phase. I try to consciously leave my phone "high up" if possible, but she's sneaky and will create ladders / stepstools from anything to get it.

Honestly, it feels like it's more a "they see what you value and are on frequently so they want it", which gives my wife and I frequent jolts of self-awareness that we may be on our phones too much. We've gotten much better at trying not to be on our phones when the kids are around. Good practice in general overall.

What does it matter what it looks like if it’s constantly covered in a case? Seems senseless to “save it” but never truly get to appreciate it.
im on hte same page. i dont care if my phone gets scratches on the body, sides, back, even on the front. i end up selling/trading it in anyways and enjoy it as such.

My XtremeSkins goodies arrived earlier and i'm quite impressed!

I’ve been caseless since launch day (1 week so far) and I will say from sliding in and out of my pockets dozens of times per day, I already have some light scratches on the screen that I can see in the sun with all fingerprints removed and I have some scuffs on the bezel that could use a polish, particularly the upper front bezel (right above the notch) where it rubs against my jeans and cotton work slacks going in and out of the pocket.

Nothing major. Bezel can be easily and quickly polished. The screen is as soft and easy to scratch as the X/S/11 Pro sadly. AppleCare+ is my case.

I was considering it, but not with how much of a fingerprint magnet the stainless steel sides are. Going with a clear gel case for my Max when I get it.

For those with kids that want to play with your phone have you considered an old phone, not connected to carrier, just has some apps on it. They can play with to their hearts content. Just a thought.

My 3yo son has his father’s old iPhone 7+. It’s perfect for him and I have screen time enabled.

Just got my black 12, feels great to hold not slippery like my 11 pro, back and sides have grip and is easier to pick up, love the flat edges and the screen and sides/back feel like one.
No case or screen protector.

Bought a clear TPU case from Torras for my 12P, but have been trying it caseless the past 2 days and am pretty happy. I went caseless and damage-free for my 5, 6, and 7 before using various cases on my XS, thanks to all the glass and wet-bar-of-soap design. But this phone feels more secure without a case, seems more resilient to drops, and I’d get AC+.

I do, however, use a Lifeproof shell case when doing something outdoorsy, so I don’t worry about it when I’m hiking/skiing/etc.

For now I’m case free on the PB Pro here. I didn’t want to cover up this phone with a case so I bought the clear Apple one and decided it’s ugly as hell so returned it.

My plan is to wait for someone to make a “case” that’s really just a flat backing to cover the back glass (no side covering at all) - attaches with strong magnets. Think the iPad Pro folio without the front cover. That would be awesome! I’m sure someone on amazon will make that. If not, maybe I can get creative myself.
Have you had any luck with finding a case like this? I’ve been looking for something similar as well

While the front screen is greatly improved the back is not and costly to replace. The Stainless Steel sides will scratch easily
Bottom Line: a Case and screen protector will save you aggravation

I want to go ceaseless so bad but I’m using the clear MagSafe case. You can still enjoy the beauty through the clear case.

With the 12 Pro I'd love to go caseless -- or at least a clear case. But I always end up with my magnetic case so I can mount it in the car.

Any sleeve recommendations? I'm hoping the socks make a comeback :p
Also wouldn't be opposed to an iPhone 4 style Bumper case!

Now you don't need a magnetic case, just a MagSafe compatible mount for the car like the Belkin model!

Apple Care = Nakid 100%

I've been going without a case since the iPhone 7. Apple puts so much work into the design, it would be a shame to cover it with an ugly case. But I usually keep one around to use if I'm doing something that makes it more likely I'll drop it (i.e. when I'm at the bar in non-pandemic times lol)

I’m caseless, have been for years (upgrade every year) but I have AppleCare+
