I am comfortable with iOs, rather than Android OS. No amount of sleek hardware can pimp me to Android. That being said, I am still on my iPhone 6s + AW( Series 0),so you can figure out that I am a keeper of things rather than getting impulsive with the new things around. Ofcourse I long to try new things, but then iOs is what keeps me grounded.

Apple products are still unmatched in what they do and how they do.

I do not care about half baked products and gimmicks from competition. They can release whatever they want, as long as they are running on that evil called Android, I do not give a slightest damn about them. The only thing I would like to see in iPhone is to have better cameras, Apple seems stuck in camera tech.

So far, this is not worth giving up on Apple.

I don’t see how the S10 can be called a half baked product. Nevertheless I decided to stay with Apple once again because of the ecosystem.

This is the kind of complacency that killed Nokia!
Apple ecosystem is great but for it to stay that way, it needs to make sure it does not fall behind.
The overall experience they are able to offer very much depends on profit margins and they need to retain interest levels to maintain the margins!

It also has a wide angle lens, in display FPS and reverse wireless charging.

Everything that 2019 iPhones are gonna have (except under screen FPS, which is personal preference anyway, fingerprint recognition never worked for me flawlessly like FaceID does).

This game of cat and mouse and who is gonna offer more has been going on since first iPhone. There is nothing different today.

iPhones with bad reception/bad wifi, iPads coming bent out of the box (and it's "normal"),
broken keyboards in 3 consecutive generations of their flagship laptops.
Yeah, you must hate "half baked" products...
None of those problems here...

There is difference between manufacturing defects, and intentionally releasing products that looks like a crude prototype.

In the camera tech aspect, yes, I agree that Apple could improve here somewhat, especially with the lowlight photos. Googles ‘Night sight’ is a interesting way of using the software to enhance the photo, which I would like to see the iPhone improve in that area as well. I’m curious to see what the ‘triple lens camera’ has to offer come this fall as rumored.

The FOMO is strong here.

Lets be real, Apple has been coasting and inflating prices for years. The S10 wasn't a turning point.

I think it highlighted in an era on £1k+ phones that you can get the features Apple is telling us is premium for less and still have more to offer though. Sure iPhones have always been expensive but that expense was a bit more swallowable when it was £600-800.

Upgrades are falling year on year and companies like Apple are plugging the hole by maintaining profit with higher priced devices. That strategy does eventually start to fall off and with the XR apparently being the best selling new iPhone, I think it’s starting to dawn on them not everybody is clambering for their top tier devices. Samsung priced the S10 competitively this year I would say and even Apple aren’t as arrogant as they used to be in terms of ignoring their market.

The Sammy experience is not good. They have great hardware and cool features but every single one I had got laggy and buggy real quick.

What good is all those features if your phone can't even do the basics well? I had many times where I wanted to take a quick picture or video and the camera would just freeze and I missed the moment, similar experience with texting and maps.

For once, I don't feel the urge to buy a new Galaxy. I have note 9 512gb and 8gb RAM. This with potential to go to 1TB storage. I'll stick with note 9 for at least until note12.

Samsung just have itself to blame for building a future proof device.

I always say, there is no such thing as ‘future proof’ with tech. But android only offers two years of updates compared to iOS, which is near five, fairly compelling reason iOS is favored over android in that respect alone.

But apple hardware is not future proof. Xr/ Xs max 3/4gb ram and the miniscule 64gb storage will be dead in water in 2 years. So what's the point of long update support when the phone is as good as dead weight in 2 years+ time?

But apple hardware is not future proof.?

No one indicated that Apple hardware is future proof either, I stated that there is _no_ such thing as future proof with tech at all, which your post was indicating originally. Two things are not mutually exclusive.

Unequivocally false.

So what's the point of long update support?

Try security patches for for starters (<— Which is a massive advantage by itself). Not to mention, iOS is known for more stability improvements for older devices, especially iOS 12 has been example of this for the iPhone 6/6S/7.

Not when apple now openly said they will purposely slow down phone because of lo and behold battery (LOL LOL LOL)

Really, I get it, you like android, that’s perfectly fine. But there’s no sense in purposely saying things are false in your previous post to try to boast your argument anymore over why you don’t support iOS/Apple. Point is, with iOS 12, it actually improved performance for older model iPhones, so that alone is another reason why users stay loyal to iOS, because their devices have longevity. So that counters your own argument.

I'd imagine a lot of people wouldn't mind changing handsets every 2 years if prices were reasonable. In that respect, I suppose 2 years worth of updates is probably enough.
OTOH, longer support means that Apple handsets are usable for longer and also retain a high residual value even after 2 years.

2 years of updates sucks - I'm unhappy that my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is forever stuck on Android 7.0 while at the same time my wife's Air 2 is going great on iOS 12 (I have the iPP). I just dumped using Samsung phones (I'm a day one Android user) for the XS Max and couldn't be happier.
