That sounds like something a creative person could get around. it is a particularly stinky move, though.BMW already charges owners to use heated seats. Costs 18 Dollar per month. In South Korea… soon in your theatre!
A developer in the US sets prices in US dollars—the developer controls the price. Apple adjusts prices in stores outside the US because of differences in local economies. Apple says in its original announcement, "Periodically, we update prices on the App Store in certain regions based on changes in taxes and foreign exchange rates." This is how international business operates. International travelers run into similar situations with currency exchange rates. This adjustment has nothing to do with third-party stores and overruling prices set by developers. It's about time for third-party AppStores and competition.
Should be up to the developer to decide if he wants to increase the price of his app or not.
Not every developer wants to slurp on customers wallet.
If you are a shareholder, maybe…Yes. Best Apple era.
Yeah Brexit has screwed the UK. Brexit people voted on Racism, non brexit voted on the economy. Who knew?Ooh another Brexit "benefit"![]()
Feel free to change ecosystem and go to something better. I’ll remain in the walled garden enjoying my products with features not available on PC/Android/Google/Alexa or whatever it is you think is better. If you are a shareholder, maybe…
For customers, I beg to differ…
There is not such a thing like “another ecosystem”.Feel free to change ecosystem and go to something better. I’ll remain in the walled garden enjoying my products with features not available on PC/Android/Google/Alexa or whatever it is you think is better.
Oh look you edited your post to include Luxembourg. I already replied about the Ireland VAT reduction for digital periodicals. Here's Luxembourg's reasoning for reducing their VAT by 1% for a year: because of inflation. #ggrks.
- Luxembourg: Reduction of value-added tax rate from 17% to 16%
- Ireland: Reduction of value-added tax rate on electronic newspapers and periodicals from 9% to 0%
Hmm that’s suspicious, Ireland and Luxemburg a reduction, why is that?!

Why is it "suspicious?"
Nope they go hand in hand. For what you're insinuating, I think you're confusing corporation tax with VAT (sales tax)
Well it’s up to you to find out, take the red pill.
They are an American Tech Company doing what companies do in America. Why would you expect differently? It's a capitalist society that the Americans apparently love and cherish. And then you get people complaining that they are making as much money as they can. There is not such a thing like “another ecosystem”.
Apple has the only real ecosystem on the market.
This doesn’t change the fact they are keeping their margins milking their customers.
And we're talking about pennies here. They are an American Tech Company doing what companies do in America. Why would you expect differently? It's a capitalist society that the Americans apparently love and cherish. And then you get people complaining that they are making as much money as they can.
Anyone who believes in capitalism and doesn't support Apple doing this is a hypocrite.
I understand your point but I just don't feel that aggrieved. I budget $200 a year for Apple software. I rarely meet that number.Thats irrelevant.
Screen has text that says "Hello World". If you pay for the premium 50 cent app, it repeats and scrolls off the screen. That honestly sounds appealing. Out of curiosity, what would a 29-cent App may look like? What can I expect? 🫣
I’m on the same boat.
Just look at what affinity did, 120€ for their entire suite, you can install it on all your devices, be them iPads, macs or windows.
I'm the same. I think Apple can do whatever they want. It's their business. If I can't afford their services, I will withdraw. Same as Netflix, Prime etc. At the moment, I pay for Apple One+ and that's it, so I guess I'm way above $200. I can't think of a single App that I would purchase that doesn't have a subscription to it, and I make that call when or if I need it.I understand your point but I just don't feel that aggrieved. I budget $200 a year for Apple software. I rarely meet that number.
Changes are incremental now. Can’t reinvent the wheel past a certain point. Consumers should temper expectations.Somebody has to pay for the slump in iPhone sales.
If only they didn't try to sell us the last year's device as a new iPhone.
Lol... sadly, I think Tweetbot might have a different opinion on the matterTwitter?
Using the same chipset as last year is not an incremental update though, its a rebadge. Apple deserves the slump in sales, hope they realise the mistake and never repeat it.Changes are incremental now. Can’t reinvent the wheel past a certain point. Consumers should temper expectations.
Mistake? Lolol. You kid.Using the same chipset as last year is not an incremental update though, its a rebadge. Apple deserves the slump in sales, hope they realise the mistake and never repeat it.
I think that demonstrates a difference between the US and Europe (and maybe other parts of the world too) - The US is more absolutely capitalist, where the priority seems to be for companies to make money, even when that doesn't necessarily serve the interests of the consumer. It's always interesting to see the "Go Apple!" comments on here when something happens that's in Apple's favour, but is detrimental to the consumer. On the other hand, in other markets there are often controls put in place to balance the interests of the consumer with the power of large corporates. They are an American Tech Company doing what companies do in America.
