Guys seriocely u think this is real? REmember the closed, controled, camera observed rooms for testing new iPhone models? Rememer the "black cloaths" having to be on them before and after use? The Apple's uniqe unpresedented paranoya for keeping things secret especialy with the new hardware? I dont buy the story that this is real just because he or she sed so. And believe this or that. I bet there are a bunch of hackers who could easily restore the firmware and boot the sistem with os4 beta. Especialy in the engadget team. This is a spoon fed storry to keep us talking about it.
At least it's not borring

I had planned on upgrading to the iPhone HD in June / July, and just swapping my Sim card back and forth between it, and my Jailbroken iPhone 3GS: HD for the days when it would be the only portable device I would be using, JB-3GS for the days when I would be toting an iPhone plus iPad or MBP (JB-3GS to piggyback my iPad /MBP onto the AT&T 3G network via MyFi)...

Ugh, I don't see the point in that. The new iPhone will surely be jailbroken at some point soon after release, so I don't think you have much to worry about.

OR, you could get a Sprint EVO 4G with its tethering plan and a next-gen iPod Touch ;-) Just as many devices you'r carrying around now anyway.

How come Engadget had some really blurry pictures of this, but Gizmodo has had it for a week and is able to produce clear photos?

Please explain? Thanks. :)

I always wonder why anyone bothers to post blurry pictures if they have the device in hand and have the time to take clear pictures. Because if they are presenting new evidence, you'd think they want clear pictures so the readers will believe them..... one would think a blurry pic saying it is something would be false because the person who posted it just wanted to create buzz and speculation over something that wouldn't have speculated over if it was clear....

Dear Mr./Ms. XXXXXX,

You are fired.

Steve

Too many words to be a Steve Jobs email!

I must admit, having seen these better quality photos I am retracting from my initial reaction to the design. My prediction, though? Hardware is genuine, case design will change. I guess we'll only know for sure what this device will look like when Steve himself is waving it around on stage in June.

I really hope Steve Jobs won't alter the design too much since it's been leaked, I'm really digging the flat-back simplistic design of this new phone and Hopefully it'll be available in a range of colors (I know I'm dreaming).

Still to come though are the guts. I wonder what type of processor they've got in there...

I definitely think this is too big for a controlled leak. Legit, but probably will still get tweaked.

I really like it. Will definitely be upgrading. The photos on here don't seem to do it justice, but it looks really nice in the photos and video on Gizmodo.

I'm kind of indifferent about the design, but features wise, I like it. Contrary to what someone said, I see this as a much bigger step from 3GS->4th gen, than 3G->3GS but hey ho.

Regardless, come June, sign me up baby!

I imagine that once they actually finalize the thing, instead of their being seams it'll just be a solid piece of aluminum wrapping the device.. nice and flush - that'll look nice

C'mon Gizmodo. We all know you're technically clueless.

How about giving the phone to some engineers, so they can disect the chipset before it has to go back to Apple?

Well it looks like k that the s*** has hit the fan. Gruber is saying that Gizmodo purchased this a week ago and it was actually stolen from Apple HQ.

I can't wait to see what Apple legal has to say about this.

I hope this isn't it!

This doesn't have the usual finesse and exacting attention to detail of Apple industrial design, it doesn't have any wow factor (in my view). Hopefully, if this is genuinely the next gen iPhone this is just a functional casing being used to field-test the internal phone unit. With Apple's obsession with secrecy, I'd be surprised if they would let the final design out of the campus this far before the official product announcement.

Here's hoping that this isn't it!

Zaphodz

Just watched the video at Gizmodo,

That phone looks sharp. Feature rich. Maybe Apple has for once listened to its customers and realised that. The bigger battery is a must. iPhone battery is and always has been average. Front facing camera, brill. Much better camera on the rear even better. Double resolution display yes please! Nice fast A9 processor = A big winner.

What was everyone expecting from the 4G????? a phone the thinness of an After 8 mint????? LOL! Roll on June!

In other news, a 34 years old man is still missing in the San Jose area since Sunday night. The last people to see him alive were three friends with whom he had been in a bar earlier the same day, celebrating his recent promotion at work in a well known local technology company.

i don't really get the argument why some ppl call it an "unusual" apple design. have u seen the latest apple computers? it fits perfectly next to them

the back reminds me of the first gen iPod Nano

That's okay "butter-fingers", I'll take your job and do it better than you.

@Apple you can hire me to test it, I won't fumble this like the last guy. I'll even do it for free.

Looks great to me. Though the squared edges make it look thick, it's actually thinner that 3GS. Judging from the photo, maybe by 1/8"? The squared edges may make it feel less slippery … which would be nice IMO. Also, the bottom speaker openings appear larger. Maybe they'll sound even better? I've always been amazed at how decent the little 3GS speakers sound. Heck, maybe they've got some "space-age" subwoofer in there? ;)

Now when it seams that leak is legit everyone loves the new iPhone yet only couple of posts earlier everyone hated it!

Hahahahahahahaha :D

Apple fanboiz are pathetic!

:p
