It's just getting old, man...

I don't understand your meaning?

You know what I mean? These "payment plan 'snobs'" with no Engineering, Software Dev or any kind of technical background whining about things like they own stock.

It's just sickening.

And I'd like to take credit for "UNPOOR" but I can't; it's from The Adventures of Ford Fairlaine.

It's the vanity plate of the rich dude's Corvette that pretended he was going to pick up the lead character that was hitchhiking, but sped off when he got close to the car...

I'm old. :)

I absolutely LOVE the design. I wish there's a Stormtroopers color, "white w/black bands" like in one of the first leaks, but that's just dreaming. I like the bands, but I hope they're some type of physical design, not just appeal. The 4.7 will still be one hand-able eve without software. I just hope to GOD it has OIS if the 5.5 does.

I'm a UI designer and it would take a very skilled profesional to fake so much UI at an apparent good level. So therefore its running actual iOS8 somehow.

I think this is pretty much what we can expect from Apple. If you check the Russian video the bezel on the white frame also sports this big bezels.

I'm 75% convinced this is an actual iPhone 6

Where's the 25% coming from?

I'm 75% convinced this is an actual iPhone 6

Seriously. This aspect of human nature intrigues me...what part of this leaves doubt, based on months of leaks, the fact that the things are made in China...and a Chinese dude is showing it off, etc?

First thing I do when I get an iPhone: shove Game Center into a crudely named folder on the last page.

This particular unit is definitely fake, but it's not very far off from what we'll see on Tuesday.

To be honest I'm 90% certain there's a lot of correct UI working. The keyboard is also working great on the video.

Just not a fan of the design in Silver and can not imagine this design working in Gold (kinda wanted to do gold with this one, previously owned a Silver 5S and currently a Black 5S).

It's gonna be black a black iPhone 6 for me.

I'm majorly letdown by Jony with this one. And the rumored resolution is idiotic.

Based on...what? SpecWars™ or actual dev stuff?

I'm majorly letdown by Jony with this one. And the rumored resolution is idiotic.

I mean...I write software this stuff for a living. The resolution is perfectly logical and *predictable*...it is in line with what was done with the 4-to-5 screen size change.

Again, I mean...I just...I don't understand what, based on things like...reality...I can't...

The dissonance is amazing. I mean since Apple has ramped up overseas production since like, 2010, have these things ever not been accurate? Unless they haven't started building something, what you see trickling out of China is what's going to happen. Go with the data...not the gut, man :)

Let down?

The one thing the resolution is not is idiotic, given the constraints they have to work with. It is idiotic not to understand this, however...

I don't understand the motive behind your text but I agee and understand some of what you've written. But I would like to point out that the beauty of physics is that there is so much that is unexplorered. The physics that we know today could change at any moment... today, tomorrow, next year... there might be a limit but we are no where near that limit just yet.

All this can be summed in within one word: Innovation.

Supply chains

The fact that Apple hasn't released it and that they could be missing certain details.

They have already made *millions* of these things. You really believe that out of *millions*...already built...this one guy in *China* couldn't have a legit unit?

The dissonance...

Allow me to retort :)

I don't understand the motive behind your text

Simple - I'm bored with the "Nouveau Pomme" in general. Don't like the attitude.

Additionally, this sad cycle of "Apple could/would have never"...I'm here in SV and Apple can, has and will continue to. They engineer stuff. They don't build "renders" :)

Seriously hope this is a knockoff fake...

Heheheh

I design for an app you use...

Here's why I don't like this rumored extended resolution of the 4.7

What is the biggest strength Apple has over Android apps from a design point view?

Consistent aspect ratios.

When they changed to 16:9, the change was not dramatic apps remained to have the same width and only added height, this made it easy for designers to have universal apps.

This new rumored resolution is adding pixels to both ends changing completely the layout of the screen. This is gonna take a lot more work to make the same apps that run on the (4's, 5's,) also run beautifully on the 6's.

I'm a very experienced Android designer too so I know how to do it but changing this very special aspect ratio Apple held for so long it's gonna give a lot of startups a headache.

I'm personally excited to have more space.

From a Product point of view?

This change is idiotic. Apple should have had keep the aspect ratio and improve the PPI on the screen and not by a factor of 3 over the original but 4 so its even and easy to convert.

I'm not a developer myself, but hasn't Apple been encouraging resolution independent app development for a few years now?

No. Better IDE and toolchain. Let's go on tho...

Apple has been pushing Autolayout since iOS 6. You do realize this isn't just a random thing they did right? Top-tier devs walked away from "pixel perfect screen exact 'Photoshop OS' apps" and 'designers' who could not cope years ago, man.

I'm a very experienced Android designer too so I know how to do it but changing this very special aspect ration Apple held for so long it's gonna give a lot of startups a headache.

See above: Autolayout is essentially a more powerful versionof Androids RelativeLayout and has been available for years on iOS; don't let "post flat" 'designers' posting on blogs fool you; shops that are in line with what Apple is doing long ago adopted AutoLayout and their apps will be *fine* on these larger devices.

It'll be fine :)

iOS has been a world of control, I really wanted iOS7 to introduce Vector graphics but they didn't.

The assets we designers provide are still just mere and normal images like .png they don't scale at all just stretch in case they are in a device with a larger resolution.

"If" Apple extends on both ends the base resolution of the 5 series then we could see letterboxed apps and specially games, like when you run an iPhone app on the iPad, for the simple reason that they were designed to fit another aspect ratio. The assets on the screen will be just as sharp as they are on the 4-5's but letterboxed.

Believed or not having a 3x or specially a 4x res on the 4.7 its much easier for the long run.

I think the 5C...

Isn't this just the GooPhone?

...would be a better comparison. The plastics, you see...tho the N5 isn't a continuous piece because of the back (easier to make color variants if you can snap off the back)

I'm more than ok with the change do wish they would have gone with a 4x for both models.

I always design in vectors so its an easy change
