Well I currently use the modular display so this looks great to me.

And if someone doesn’t like a complication they can just select “nothing” and get a more light face. And IMO Apple showed all those widgets because they wanted to show the bigger edges of the new screen, but if you think that’s too much you can hide anything you don’t want.

Wait so the display is going to have rounded corners?
I don’t see why not. Even moreso than the iPad (Pro) and iPhone, Apple Watch begs for them. It’s very Ive.

I haven’t done the layout based on the rumored measurements myself, but 90° corners constrain the edges. You can’t push the edges out toward the case very much unless you round the corners to match the case. Looking at the series 4 mock-up, if the corners were 90°, they’d violate the minimum bezel width that’s required.

That said, it could be the mock-up understates the bezel width some. I haven’t done any calcs myself.

Edit: I did the calcs and if the rumored display sizes are correct (e.g. 1.57” for the 38mm watch) then the corners are rounded. See my posting later in this thread:

Sure looks like the new Digital Crown design to me. Edit: Actually, after looking at the leaked image of the Series 4 again, it’s not the same. Oh well...it’s hinting at gold iPhones (which we now know are coming), anyway.

i believe it is a copy design from the Idea induction cooker

So beautiful... take my money!

What is that UVI thing on the watch face?? A new sensor detecting the UV?

Microsoft Band had UV detection and that was like 4 years ago so it's completely possible.

My guess is that it's data gathered from the same weather service it’s getting temps from.

Which is what I'd prefer anyway. That way, you can see the UVI before you leave the house, rather than having to go outside and let the watch calculate it for you.

Forget the watch.....That face looks amazing. I want it!!!!

And by the way if anyone thinks this leak was an accident I have a bridge to sell you...

Apple doesn't accidentally "leak" final product images. It's all part of the PR plan to generate buzz and FREE media coverage prior to the event. It's a well oiled marketing machine!

Agreed. Anyone who thinks Apple "leaks" accidentally at this point is just gullible. Remember the "leaks" last year of supply constraints that never happened? hahaha. Man that marketing is good.

Alright then, I'll wait for "leaked" photos of the MacBook mini, a.k.a. MacBook Air 2.

An obvious possibility is another mic hole (Siri definitely doesn't seem to hear as well on watch as on phone, and one part of this might be fixed with another mic or two)?

Another possibility is behind that hole is a bolometer or something like that (ie ambient temperature sensor)? Or perhaps there are good reasons to put a UV sensor in that location, slightly behind a hole, to get ambient values and not be blinded by the sun?

Another question for the ages is whether THIS will finally be the year that Apple phone and Apple watch do something useful with their barometers? We've been promised that they would tell us things like what floor you parked on for years now, but they still seem to basically generate no useful user-facing information.

The hole is probably for a noise-canceling mic. What it's not for is a temperature or UVI sensor. That data is simply fed by the iPhone app. It's just a nice display of the already-available info on the iPhone Weather app screen.

The face is the same size, but the bezels are smaller, i.e. there’s less dead space between the active screen area and the metal case.

Where do you see that? The bezels are not distinguishable on that image and that watch face looks like it would fit within the bezels of my Series 2.

It’s crazy how Apple is able to turn Apple watches into a yearly upgrades similar to smartphones. They are clearly ahead of the game in terms of wearables. Whether the future for wearables continues to supplement smartphones, or completely supplant these devices, Apple is sure poised to retain its current position.

Any data for YoY upgrades? The majority I’ve seen aren’t upgrading every year but every 2-3 years. Granted the product timeline is small enough that the sample isn’t great.

Depending on whether you have the 38mm or the 42mm, it can make a difference. Maybe not one you are excited about though. The screen on the new 38mm will be larger than the screen on the current 42.

Here’s a mock-up from phonearena.com:

I understand the rumored changes but that image doesn’t have proof to corroborate those speculations is all I’m saying. There are no defined lines for the bezel visible and that watch face appears to be able to fit on existing watches.

Pretty fun watch face they've made there. I desperately want more complications on a single watch face. I also watch more themed watch faces like: Old school Digital; CyberPunk; Victorian; Industrial; Seasonal; Executive; 80s...

the list is endless, yet all Apple has given us in about 4 years is 15 odd faces. And some of them are a bit lame. That's pathetic if you ask me. They should be releasing about 10 a year at least. How hard can it be to come up with exciting watch faces?

Sorry, what I meant was that Apple keeps churning out yearly updates. Regardless of that, there are individuals who are upgrading at intervals similar to their smartphone cycles.

What watch face is that? The overload me watch face?

In all seriousness though, I really like it! Lots of data, available at a quick glance.

And we also know that our watch bands will work, even with a semi redesign for this year!
