"...15% larger display..."

When it's 50% larger, let me know. I have a series 2 and it's the same feeling when I sit in a preschoolers chair during parent/teacher conference.

So, since no ipads or macs leaks from Apple...this means on this event we will have just the new iphones and apple watch

Looks nice. Can't see myself upgrading from series three thiguh unless there's some surprise here that I'm not aware of.

I agree—had original watch and didn’t upgrade until what I wanted was available. Now I’m happy for awhile with 3 cellular—and face would be really busy on a 38mm. Besides, this is an upgraded Ipad Pro 12.9 Fall for me, new phone later in the year. Watch is fine for now.

Well, each case is different. Apart of the technological, nerdy wonder you have to see if it fits your needs and wants. It might, it might not.
I was unconvinced by the AW at first. Actually, I still don’t have one. However, given my wife’s job (special ed teacher) I decided to give it a try and I bought an LTE AW3 for her. At first she told me to return it as “useless”, and I told her to try it for just a full work week. Result? She can’t live without it now. Literally, she does all her activities with it. It also helped her greatly with workouts, keeping track of things, being in contact with the world while she can’t use her phone due to her job, and even with the find my iphone feature (she forgets her phone in the purse, or somewhere around the house). It keeps track of her sleep, her general health (although we DO know it’s not a substitute for a doctor), it helps with the reminders and so on. Even the GPS is somewhat useful. The AW transformed her life for the better.
Now, is an AW a tool that everyone should have? Nah. Is it a great tool to have availavble? Heck yeah.
I am not really interested in an AW myself as I am kinda of a digital minimalist (zero notifications, just a few apps, empty iPhone screen etc.), but I do have a heart condition. Nothing huge, except that I had open heart surgery at 17. Am I at risk of dying? Most likely not more than anyone else (I mean, 100% sure that we will die somehow... but my heart does not require superextra attention or medications). However, since the new AW is coming out and my wife really uses it and loves it, why not? I’ll buy the AW4 for her, I’ll get her old AW and I will also keep monitoring my heart, sleep, excercise (or, lack of thereof) and so on.

As with any technology, any tool, or any machinery, it’s all up to each single case.
My wife said the same thing when I got my AW3 last year. Then when I was responding quickly to things she couldn’t wait on (ex. I’m at work and she is at the grocery store) and taking my time on things that could wait she understood the value and got herself one. We pull our phones out a lot less while being more available.

She now took up running and monitoring her heart condition (1st degree heart block). It really does help motivate certain people.

Quick question: What is the benefit of having an Apple watch? Why is everyone so excited about these new changes? I had a series 1 that i got for free when i signed up for a new checking account. I sold it after a month since i used it for about 2 days then never put it back on. Screen wasn't that responsive, really small (i had the bigger size), and didn't really help with anything. Replying to messages was extremely limited and didn't work well.

The only thing that i think is a great thing is LTE. If I can leave my phone in the car when i go to the beach and still have access to my phone, that might be worth it, but how often do those situations arise... I will most likely pass on the watch, i don;t think it's for me unless someone can explain why it's so useful and a must-have. I don't think they look particularly aesthetic so looks wouldn't be a reason to buy for me.
I don't think the Apple Watch is for you.
Skip it and move on.

The screen has tripled the options. Changed from a child’s watch look to that of a chronograph. Big hit. Sell your 3 asap. The 4 will be irresistible. Or does it look to big?!

Seriously? Full of what? I'm just curious what one can do to fill up aWatch since most of the usual suspects (picture and movies) are not an issue, and, at least in the past, there was a cap to how much music you could put on the device.

Music. I'm very active and take my headphones and watch and go. Barely have any pics. Maybe some apps are memory hogs. Currently there are 310 songs on my watch with 1.8 GB left. I received the message last week and havent really deleted many songs off the playlist.

What was tripled? Sorry I haven't followed Apple news much of late. Is the chronograph only available in this version or something?

It really does motivate. We mostly function through triggers (see Haigg’s “The power of habit”, an amazing book that everyone should read), and the AW can really trigger us towards better, healthier behavior.

I lost my AW3 in the Atlantic ocean last week (DO NOT wear a sports band in the ocean ... that surfer marketing is BS). Will probably get a 4 IF the software changes are more significant. The 3’s speed was great and the only reason I could see them not putting that new watch face on the older devices is to drive upgrades. There looks to be plenty of room on the 42mm (maybe not the 38mm).

That face seems a little bit crowded.

On the other hand, I know loads of people who'd love to fit on as much complications as possible - fair enough.

A little disappointed that the watch doesn't looks significantly different.

I'd had hoped that with Ive's obsession with 70s watches, we'd had had room for a more square circle look (and a cushion!) on the watch.

But maybe that would've been too esoteric for a mass market product & I guess they feel that the 'square rectangle' screen works best for the product.

Question is the watch face noted here exclusive to AW4, or will it be available to AW3. Is upgraded HW req’d To power all those complications ‘active’ all at once?

Since I started swimming again, how’s the AW for tracking swim activity? (Calories, etc.)
