Apple will lose

Shame. All that hard work and the copy cats get a free ride and soon a win! Thanks to the US Courts and foreign friendly judges.

FLAC and BR offer much better quality than that available from Apple. Rather than being seen as the highest quality available from audio and video, and therefore important to discriminating consumers, they may be interpreted as competition.

That's ridiculous. ALAC (Apple Lossless) has exactly the same quality as FLAC, and both are open source too.

Same goes for Blu-Ray, it's usually just the same h.264 avc codec Apple also uses. It doesn't have better quality.

Actually Apple supports much better quality video codecs than Blu-Ray, like the ProRes codec.

Plssss

Yeah, being able to send and retrieve mp3s from Android without proprietary software is a crappy option. As is the same functionality for movies. Being able to customize my homescreen, notifications, CPU speed, lock screens, widgets, keyboards, etc are also crappy options.

Its also crappy that I have an SD Card slot and can exchange my battery at will without voiding my warranty.

Get real.

P'LEEAsSE!!! I can add a battery pack if need be, as for the SD slot, again not enough to sway this IOS user, Silly... anyway I have iCloud. Good luck with the Android sales pitch. :apple:

Oh and there are other ways to insure your mobile devices aka 3rd party warranties. ex: Squaretrade.

You stated all the disadvantages of iOS devices.

Batter pack? I would trust batteries from the device's manufacturer which can be bought as an accessory.

To be honest the removable battery and SD card thing is something that all android users say (just like they did with Flash until Adobe nixed it) as some sort of "one-up" on iPhone.

It's really not though. You'd need a removable battery for one of two things (if you can think of another reason let me know): 1) Your phone's battery doesn't last throughout the day, 2) your phone's battery fails completely constantly necessitating the need for backups.

Neither of those apply to iPhone, so is the removable battery important just because you can? Does it serve any other practical purpose other then you just can?

SD card same deal. Do you really need more then 64GB of space on your phone? How much space is used up on your current SD card? I have a motorola droid, with a 32GB card, and I have 26GB of free space. I have around 50 apps, I use Google Music for all my music and I have about 200-300 pictures. Exactly what do you put on the remaining 26GB of space that would necessitate having a removable SD card? Again, just cuz you can?

Good for you. I personally haven't bothered with any of these thus far. :)

*sigh* That picture is fake. The store isn't a samsung store, its a Samsung mini store within a store, thus the Apple icons appear...on the back wall. The usb doesn't actually look like that.

And Android doesn't look like iOS at all.

Ah right, must be all those Samsung fakes that keep popping up.

Oh no it's still Samsung's store, and the power supply is true as well (as all the rest)
http://9to5mac.com/2011/09/24/oh-samsung-you-are-making-this-too-easy/

There's also still that other thing too.

Oh, 'cause there is no such thing as researching a product before buying. FYI, I haven't had any issues w/ warranty voiding with an Apple product.

This fight is so ridiculous...I'm at a lost for words...these companies have to grow the **** up already.

I am pretty sure Samsung does not sell millions of units per week at any time

Samsung sold more units than Apple in Q3...

And their models were more varied, meaning manufacturing those units was actually harder, as it required more assembly lines/different parts.

But let's not let the facts interrupt a good Apple praising session. Please, continue as if reality didn't exist.

3) Your battery begins to overheat.

4) You drop your phone in the water :)

Sure. Besides being able to easily replace the original battery with one with higher capacity (I always do this with a new smartphone).... it's very convenient to be able to swap in a fully charged battery when I want to go back out after a long day, or if I've just landed after a long flight watching videos, or if I'm going camping.

It's not super critical for me. Convenient? Absolutely.

It's a conspiracy !!!!

What's a "foreign friendly judge'?

Can we please put this court stuff on page 2?

Rumours about legal facts.
or
Rumours about product speculation, most of which are wrongly predicted.

Which would you want on page 1?

----------

Yeah, because store openings are so much better. Look guys, not everything posted to page 1 is going to interest you. There is no such thing as page 2 anymore.

There is a page 2. it is called:
"More MacRumors Stories".
Still technically on page 1 but on the right side in brief. So it's almost like a page 2 to me.

And for the record only some store openings made page 1. Some quite large and important ones made page 2. And some tiny ones made page 1. No consistency on which store opening news made page 1.

"...Apple's admission that Samsung is more likely to take market share from other Android manufacturers than it is from Apple."

Important point for any investors long AAPL.

Not really. APPL price is predicated on fast growth not on keeping existing user base and all indications are that new users choose Android.

There's plenty of external USB batteries and cases out there that solve that problem.

They are also easier to charge (just plug them into a USB port, don't need the phone) and to check up on their charge too (they usually come with a LED gauge).

There's even solar powered ones, ideal for camping.

Easier to go planes too, since security these days don't take like people carrying unconnected spare batteries.

Yeah but it does not change the fact that removable battery is still better and will stay better than non-removable.
