You're delusional. First of all, with the rare 1 in a billion possible exception of some person with a severe birth defect that causes them to actually grow both sex's "bottom" parts, there are no "trans" people. You either have a penis or a vagina. It's really that simple. To "feel like" you are something other than you are is called a mental disorder (not a pejorative, but a sincere acknowledgement of a serious issue) and you need professional help.
The seriousness of the "bathroom issue" is not about oppression, but rather to keep those that are actual perverts from have a legal excuse to assault women and children.
As for the other stuff, you are obviously swallowing the progressive BS koolaid, which is utter horse piss.

While this isn't a highly technical site. For the most part you get the technical types here looking for information about the latest gadgets. That group tends to be a fairly liberal bunch.

It seems to me as we allow people to define who they are without the constraints of societal norms, we will see the true variety of the human genome IMHO.
If you want to break a complex situation down into just that specific yes/no question: yes. Some topics to search: intersex and chromosomal anomalies (XXY, XYY, XXX, etc...).
That does not exclude other entirely legitimate paths for transgender individuals as well.

The small courthouse in the town where I grew up was built with four public restrooms in the basement (two for men and two for women). Why not have the blacks go in one set and whites go in the other set? Why make a big deal about it? That's what I hear you saying.
I happen to be married to a very bright therapist and a behavior hospital administrator and we talk about these issues.
First, there is plenty of research to support the notion that gender identity is not a choice. Second, the authoritative voice on mental disorders is the APA, not the American College of Pediatrics. They develop the DSM-5 manual. They don't classify gender identity as "mental disorder." They set the standards. Literary. Anyone and everyone with a license to practice in the mental health profession defers to APA standards. Doing otherwise means liability and potential for losing said license.

GOP invented it and perfected it over the years. Your party still believes homosexuality is a choice that can be "fixed" with some prayers and treatment. Recent research shows that the brain has a mixture of both predominately traditionally male and traditionally female patterns across differing regions with the same person. You personally have both male and female brain patterns in varying regions of *your* brain. To know this and somehow reject as impossible that someone could have male sexual organs but be mentally female (or vice versa) as anything other than a mental disorder is just ignorant.
As to needing to restrict trans individuals to specific bathrooms to protect us from "perverts" that clearly incorrect. A "pervert" acting out in any bathroom will be violating existing laws without having to impact trans individuals (laws governing harassment, sexual assault, voyeurism, etc...).
This shouldn't need to be a political issue at all. I consider myself slightly right of center but I see no reason to legislate where someone can relieve themselves. I would expect small government conservatives to agree with that perspective.

Abuse will come whether or not trans are allowed to use the bathroom of their choice. It should be a non issue. One isn't going to invite MORE abuse. And before talking about people in the "wrong" bathroom, how about discussing the abuse that happens in same sex bathrooms.

Why doesn't Apple support better standards for K-12 education? Why don't they help all the poor people instead of just special classes of people?
Read 'Tim Cook' signed the petition in the name of Apple, unfortunately yet another political statement. I don't agree with transgenders and personally think they have mental issues if you born a fully functioning male or female but 'you decide to choose of your own free will' to be the opposite sex. I read transgendes have a massively high rate of scuicide rates.

Gee, this DOCTOR makes a good point about it being a mental illness. If what he is saying doesn't make sense to you than you are probably lost in a social justice fantasy somewhere. Most people who are "fighting" for these transgender rights are just people who want to feel morally superior and will support anything that Twitter is convincing you is the trendy progressive thing to do. It is all a bunch of sheep. If you were really smart and progressive you would see that all this bathroom crap is not helping them, it is just pushing them down the rabbit hole even deeper until they fall into a depression with regret and kill themselves. Very progressive! Supporting a mental illness created delusion is very counter productive for the mental health of the sick person. Even the doctors in the 1800's knew that. They realize you they can't actually have children and live like a woman. They depression sets in deeper and deeper. Every time the fantasy is interrupted you have another chance of the person mentally falling apart. It is the opposite of supportive. Being supportive is not convincing someone their mental delusion is real.

What ignorance? The FACT and it is an evolutionary FACT made over millions of years, that a female and male body is inherently different, even the brains I believe are slightly different and NO amount of surgery will ever change that!
It's going against what a human man or woman physically and phsycologically is, it's making an excuse for people who frankly have mental health problems!
That is my opinion and probably the opinion of many others too. These transgenders should be helped in a mental manor, not by surgeons more then willing to take their money to alter their parts and lawyers ready to encourage them to have their gender on the birth certificate changed which will be a lie, so they too can make money.
