I am really, really, sick of reading all this transgender/bathroom/etc. crap. The human species is male and female. If someone makes a CHOICE to live a deviant lifestyle, I don't see why they should get special attention and privileges.

Don't be another liberal robot spouting what hear other people saying. Trump did not take away anyone's rights. His decision was to leave these policies to the state level.

He's still an idiot anyway

I identify as your father so I'll expect you to call me daddy. I'm actually also a trans-ethnic black man so it'd be best if you'd call me daddy cool.

Signed by:
Gender Bender.
Thank you for showing your true colors.

So what does a made up trans-ethnic white man get called in your fantasy?

That ignorance. Thank you.

Or... wait. Maybe you're on to something! Maybe we can also help "these gays" in a "mental manor" too!! After all, they also don't think like me, so it must be wrong!

Simple question, is the scuicide rate amongst gays 40%?

No the ignorance is to go against human evolutionary and nature fact. Being gay is one thing, deciding you want to be the opposite sex, then having extreme surgery and treatments to turn you into the opposite sex that will NEVER be complete, you need to transplant your mind into an actual real male or female body to get that, and then declare you want your gender changed in your birth certificate, because you 'feel' like the opposite sex, is quite another. And it would also be a flat out scientific factual LIE! Because you will NOT be the opposite sex and never will be, unless you change your mind into the opposite sexs body!

Hell why not encourage it, let's see where we end up eh? let's ONLY have unisex bathrooms in ALL workplaces AND schools that anyone of any gender or believed gender weather bi, straight or gay HAS to use, something like cubicles in a row with the walls and doors that don't extend all the way to floor and ceiling... and have urinals in the same room too. Anyone who complains can be shouted down as ignorant then...

Actually I would say being gay is accepting who you are, being transgender is refusing to accept who you are.

Of course it is not.
Most people live and die in the states they were born in.
It is not fair that you can have basic civil rights taken away based on which state you are in.
You can move freely between the states of this country and live in whichever you choose. That's what is so great about this nation.

If I don't want income tax on my paychecks, then I can move to Washington (state). If I don't mind income tax for the sake of other lower taxes and a low cost of living, I could move to South Carolina. See? Same goes for this topic.

"Basic civil rights"? Uh, no. Give me a break. I absolutely, 100% disagree with you that transgender folks (read: folks that identify with a gender this is NOT their actual gender) deserve the rights to use the bathroom of their choice. You feel the opposite. So, depending on who you're asking, someone could call either of us intolerant. Right? Neither of us will give into the other side's argument. So what's the next best option, then? Give parts of the country (states) the choice on what to do with transgender bathrooms. Some states will support it and some won't. There really is no better compromise. If you want/don't want those rights within the current state that you're residing, then you can move. Easy peasy.

.....Trump is a con artist and a criminal with deep ties to Russia, white supremacy and troublesome special interests. He is a disgrace.
Unless you have incontrovertible proof of that, you might want to keep that opinion to yourself. Mindlessly repeating what some in the media are speculating just because you don't like the man is unfair to the new Potus and casts a shadow on his well-qualified administration.

Sadly, people like him will never stop. Just an example of how his type thinks, I had someone respond to me in the same manner a while back but more leaning towards the white supremacists part of it. When I asked for proof? They tried to use a CNN article as their proof. I was completely dumbfounded that someone could be so ignorant and actually think, in their mind, that this was actual proof.

This is very easy to solve. Instead of having "Man" and "Woman" written on bathroom doors just have a picture of a penis and a vagina. People can check if those pictures matches what they have between their legs and if it is a match they can then go to the matching bathroom. Very simple and easy to do and nobody will debate if the person is a man or a woman.

A transgender high school student can't move freely to another state.

Going to a bathroom where you feel comfortable and safe is a basic right.

What's the best option? The option where one group isn't being oppressed. The option where transgender people are actually safe. Transgender people using their identity's bathrooms doesn't effect you at all. It greatly effects them.

Abuse will come whether or not trans are allowed to use the bathroom of their choice. It should be a non issue. One isn't going to invite MORE abuse. And before talking about people in the "wrong" bathroom, how about discussing the abuse that happens in same sex bathrooms.

Again - if the abuse is going to happen, it's not going to be prevented by forbidding trans to use the bathroom of their choice.
Forcing transgender women into male bathrooms will absolutely invite more abuse. Transgender women are assaulted by bigoted men frequently.
What abuse in same sex bathrooms? The abuse that republican cis males politicians have been found guilty of?

Um...what is stopping them? You can't be serious?
They're forced to live with their parents... obviously.

Should it be ok for interracial marriage to be outlawed by states because interracial couples are free to move to other states?

I agree. It's pretty sad. The problem is that Trump haters can't see past the end of their own noses. It's futile to even try to argue with them because they won't change their minds no matter what Trump does. Hate has completely consumed these people to the point that they aren't thinking straight and don't realize it.

Yeah, I admit I hate a guy who admits to sexually assaulting women and thinks global warming is a Chinese hoax.

High school kids are not "forced" to live with their parents. They can freely live with family members that are located in different states. They can even live with friends. Parents are no restriction.

Fortunately, it's not that obvious as there 18/19 year olds as well. So again, as I ask, what's stopping them? Nothing.

Time to get rid of gender bathrooms then or people are impinging on my right as a straight man to use whatever bathroom I want when other men can use it no problem. Who is to say that I don't feel like a woman but chose to dress as a man? Trust me when a bunch of dudes start going into the womens bathroom and dropping big smelly dumps they won't be a fan, and when all the women start taking up the stalls in the mens bathroom because their line is too long the men won't be a fan either

Yep... very easy to imagine a guy who wants to see naked women say he is a female, but butch and dresses like a guy because he is also a lesbian.

If they have had their gender legally changed. And are legally female. Then sure go use the women's room.

The simplest way to handle it is to just put a picture of a penis on one door, and a picture of a vagina on the other door. Then you can go in the bathroom who's picture matches what you have.

If we base it solely on genitalia, then your gender association and male / female labels are not important to deciding which bathroom to use.

And if you have both a penis and a vagina, then congratulations.... you match both pictures on the doors. You get to use both.

And before everyone gets all upset thinking I'm opposed to gay rights and all, the reality is that I actually am very much in favor of gay rights, gay marriage, choosing your own gender identity, dressing as you please, etc... I'm about as supportive as you can get. More than you might imagine, actually.

But, I find this whole bathroom distraction to be nothing more than a circus show. It's for attention.

The reality is, that in adult life, which bathroom I walk into (freely) has never been an issue with either women or men, regardless of my appearance.

I have never gotten a funny look, or been asked to leave. Regardless of which bathroom I was in. Nobody cares unless you make it a problem.

Now, we have this circus show put on by a bunch of attention seekers who are excited by media highlights, and would push for anything that will get them their moment of fame.

By acting as they have, they have actually done more to harm the image associated with transgender, gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals and couples.

Not all are freaks and sideshows. Most are very respectable people.

But, unfortunately, the extreme circus shows put on by those who seek fame, only serve to cast a negative association on those who are transgender, gay, lesbian, or bisexual.

It's time for the circus shows to end. Don't give them the attention they seek.

Women usually don't show their private parts to other people in the bathroom. At least that's what I'm led to believe. Since I don't have any personal experience, please advice me if I'm wrong.

Young punks take pictures up women's dresses all the time, what do you think they will do once they get free reign in the women's bathroom. Maybe stand on the toilet and just gawk over the partition. Then there is absolutely nothing the women can do except be embarrassed and frightened. Do you really think your 12 year old daughter is going to feel comfortable standing in line for a stall right next to the 25 year old male pedophile that now thinks he is a women.

And I suppose you never noticed that even with stalls, the cracks are wide enough to not provide much if any privacy from the opposite sex.

All toilets of one "gender" for everyone is a bad idea. We would all have to queue with the women who take forever. What the heck do they do in there ?

I agree.

I think that Tim Cook takes these issues personally because he himself is gay. Nothing wrong with being gay or transgender, it is just not an issue I think a tech company should concern itself with.

Exactly, make an effort in your stores and your campuses. Show others what you do for your employees and then your competition may follow. Lead by example, not by preaching to the masses.

I agree with you. There are only two genders with the occasional possibility of someone being born a hermaphodite. No matter how many hormones you take, what type of clothes you wear, name you change, operations you get, you cannot change your gender. It is not a social construct

Not true. A teen may be able to successfully transfer legal guardianship from his parents to another adult.
Try again.

It's not about bathrooms, any more than it was about water fountains.

The small courthouse in the town where I grew up was built with four public restrooms in the basement (two for men and two for women). Why not have the blacks go in one set and whites go in the other set? Why make a big deal about it? That's what I hear you saying.

Nope not even close to the same, unless you forgo all realms of logical thought. If they are single stall bathrooms then it makes no difference. I have used opposite sex single stall bathrooms in gas stations on several occasions. No one complained, not even the opposite sex that was waiting outside. This is about multi person bathrooms/showers and the problems that immature men have forced on women over the years. In the end, the problem has nothing to do the LGBT community and everything to do with not being able to determine what a male is going to do with his penis in the presence of women with their female parts exposed and making sure these women and girls feel comfortable.

No matter what the guy thinks, if he has male parts he should use the male bathroom/shower, etc. This is not discrimination because if he has male parts he should use the facilities provided for humans with male parts. Period. To do otherwise is just chaos, who's value has nothing to do with fairness and everything to do with breaking down society.
