Time to get rid of gender bathrooms then or people are impinging on my right as a straight man to use whatever bathroom I want when other men can use it no problem. Who is to say that I don't feel like a woman but chose to dress as a man? Trust me when a bunch of dudes start going into the womens bathroom and dropping big smelly dumps they won't be a fan, and when all the women start taking up the stalls in the mens bathroom because their line is too long the men won't be a fan either
Yep... very easy to imagine a guy who wants to see naked women say he is a female, but butch and dresses like a guy because he is also a lesbian.
If they have had their gender legally changed. And are legally female. Then sure go use the women's room.
The simplest way to handle it is to just put a picture of a penis on one door, and a picture of a vagina on the other door. Then you can go in the bathroom who's picture matches what you have.
If we base it solely on genitalia, then your gender association and male / female labels are not important to deciding which bathroom to use.
And if you have both a penis and a vagina, then congratulations.... you match both pictures on the doors. You get to use both.
And before everyone gets all upset thinking I'm opposed to gay rights and all, the reality is that I actually am very much in favor of gay rights, gay marriage, choosing your own gender identity, dressing as you please, etc... I'm about as supportive as you can get. More than you might imagine, actually.
But, I find this whole bathroom distraction to be nothing more than a circus show. It's for attention.
The reality is, that in adult life, which bathroom I walk into (freely) has never been an issue with either women or men, regardless of my appearance.
I have never gotten a funny look, or been asked to leave. Regardless of which bathroom I was in. Nobody cares unless you make it a problem.
Now, we have this circus show put on by a bunch of attention seekers who are excited by media highlights, and would push for anything that will get them their moment of fame.
By acting as they have, they have actually done more to harm the image associated with transgender, gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals and couples.
Not all are freaks and sideshows. Most are very respectable people.
But, unfortunately, the extreme circus shows put on by those who seek fame, only serve to cast a negative association on those who are transgender, gay, lesbian, or bisexual.
It's time for the circus shows to end. Don't give them the attention they seek.
