Gee, this DOCTOR makes a good point about it being a mental illness. If what he is saying doesn't make sense to you than you are probably lost in a social justice fantasy somewhere. Most people who are "fighting" for these transgender rights are just people who want to feel morally superior and will support anything that Twitter is convincing you is the trendy progressive thing to do. It is all a bunch of sheep. If you were really smart and progressive you would see that all this bathroom crap is not helping them, it is just pushing them down the rabbit hole even deeper until they fall into a depression with regret and kill themselves. Very progressive! Supporting a mental illness created delusion is very counter productive for the mental health of the sick person. Even the doctors in the 1800's knew that. People that make me ill on here are the people on this thread supporting something they know nothing about just because it makes them part of the in crowd. "Twitter told me this is how I should feel." Mental illness is a very dangerous thing to play around with, and reinforcing delusions is NOT a way to help someone suffering. When a man dressed as a woman enters the woman's room the fantasy holds up until they have to actually use it. Then the fantasy shatters. Then they get surgery. They realize you they can't actually have children and live like a woman. They depression sets in deeper and deeper. Every time the fantasy is interrupted you have another chance of the person mentally falling apart. It is the opposite of supportive. Being supportive is not convincing someone their mental delusion is real.

But since most of the SJW on here are incapable of looking at the facts from all perspectives and admitting they are wrong...I don't expect any changes here, just blind fighting. The fact that your hero/cult leader Tim Cook is involved doesn't help. You can't see that he is just trying to sell phones.

Or they don't agree with you.

Read 'Tim Cook' signed the petition in the name of Apple, unfortunately yet another political statement. I don't agree with transgenders and personally think they have mental issues if you born a fully functioning male or female but 'you decide to choose of your own free will' to be the opposite sex. I read transgendes have a massively high rate of scuicide rates.

Meh this is a tech site, not one for political issues Tim Cook chooses to drag the Apple name into.
The suicide rate for transgender is about 40%.

Dude, haven't you been told in school that boys have penis and girls have vagina? Direct yourself to the appropriate toilet based on that. Simple.

now every pixie kin idiot will want a separate toilet.
Yes, just do what you're told and shut your pie hole, right? Don't think critically because it will be hard for everyone, and you won't like Trump when he's angry.

::sigh::

Thanks, I knew it was massive! That just sums it up, to have a huge scuicide rate like that points to mental issues, depression whatever. They need phsycological help, turn them around and maybe they won't kill themselves.
If Apple made a product with a 40% failure rate, I'm pretty sure they would change what they were doing, not actively encourage more of it!

NP,... Ive known this stat for quite some time but you know FACTS are what matters... LoL

Yes! The don't agree with me, various medical professionals, or statistical facts on transgender suicide and feeling reversal. Sound right. They only believe their blind uneducated viewpoint that Twitter or Tim Cook told them about. "I have an iPhone so Tim Cook is always right!".

Or, again, they just don't agree with your opinion or others. Maybe they are thinking for themselves. How can you quantify that?

Trump is many things. I think he's an *******, but hey, he was elected to drain the swamp of bureaucrats and only an ******* is capable of that. Be careful what you wish for they say.

But I don't think Trump is anti-gay. He came out even before Hillary regarding the Orlando anti-gay attack. And with all his fancy properties and restaurants, he's probably hired more gay people than Obama!

Pence is there to keep the base in line, that is all. VP's in America generally just show up at funerals.

Being gay myself, I've never really heard of this bathroom issue being a problem. I mean, who the hell is looking underneath the stall to see the plumbing? I talk to gay friends and they didn't even realize this was a problem until SOMEONE MADE IT A PROBLEM! This is a solution in search of a problem basically. And for that reason, this is the Republicans fault. They made an issue out of something that the general public is not concerned about. There are no major transgender CRIMES on the news!

I mean, seriously. Do we have laws making a str8 guy going into a women's bathroom a crime? I don't think so. Hell, guys who need to change a baby often have no choice but a women's bathroom.

Personally, I prefer bathrooms with locked doors and nobody else anyway!

Apple should forget filing a long legal brief and instead hire him/her so he he/she can use the Apple bathrooms. That's putting your money where your mouth is.

And what if said "perverted *******s" say they are transgendered? Who are you or all those volunteers to question them on it?

Your way, any "perverted *******" can camp out in the woman's bathroom just by saying they belong there.

The Republican argument that "perverts will use transgender laws as excuse to use women's bathroom, potentially even abuse women" holds as much water as the "widespread voter fraud." Both are completely baseless.

The same people who feel this way elected Trump. A man (or an excuse for one, really) who openly admitted to groping and sexually assauling women. Hypocrisy is the cornerstone of the GOP platform, I guess.

Like the voting issue. The only two known cases of voter fraud in this election where two Trump voters who attempted to vote twice.

Same ******** arguments. Same bigoted mindset. One morally bankrupt party.

you might want to brush up on some law, it IS illegal for a man to go into a women's bathroom.
North Carolina LAW
"There’s a strong argument that a man entering a ladies’ room is a person who has, without authorization, entered a building of another and so is guilty of first-degree trespass. G.S. 14-159.12. One might argue that a restroom is not a building but a room within a building. However, it may qualify as a building under G.S. 14-159.11, which defines the term as “any structure or part of a structure . . . enclosed so as to permit reasonable entry only through a door.” Supporting that interpretation is Com. v. White, 538 A.2d 887 (Pa. Super. Ct. 1988), where the court affirmed a conviction for criminal trespass after the male defendant entered the women’s restroom of an athletic club. The court ruled that the restroom was a “separately secured or occupied portion” of the building that was reserved for women’s use. Update: See also In re S.M.S., 196 N.C. App. 170 (2009) (affirming an adjudication of second-degree trespass after a boy entered a girls’ locker room, and stating that “[t]he sign marked ‘Girl’s Locker Room’ was reasonably likely to give respondent notice that he was not authorized to go into the girls’ locker room”).

Oh and another one for giggles:

Raleigh City Code has a rule against it:
Sec. 13-2015. – TOILET FACILITIES; USE BY SEX FOR WHICH NOT INTENDED.
On public or on private property used by the public or patrons of a business establishment where separate toilet facilities are provided for the use of different sexes and such facilities are conspicuously labeled to give notice of the sex for which the facility is set apart, it shall be unlawful for a member of one sex to enter or use a facility provided for members of the opposite sex. Provided this section shall not be construed to prevent the inspection of toilet facilities by the owner or person in charge thereof or the designated agent of either, nor to prevent the performance of janitorial services therein by the person or persons designated to perform such services when members of the opposite sex are not present.

Well, if women really can't deal with the sight of a man in a restroom without "staring at or having to deal with some guys penis", then that might be an issue. However, it's easily fixed - there are plenty of designs of urinals where the man's bits are shielded from stares. I run a lot and at UK races, you'll often see men's urinals out in the open and no-one seems to be particularly bothered. Often in crowded situations women will use the stalls in the mens' bathroom without anything more than the occasional comment.

That's one hell of an incredibly sexist comment against women's rights you've just made, I'm certain that women, through the hundreds of years it's taken them to get the rights they now have, will appreciate your suggestion for some of their rights be regressed.

You want locked doors? Would you be in there alone?
[doublepost=1488477696][/doublepost]Apple should fix their crappy software and release the amazing stuff in the pipeline.

Seeing people being against transgender-ness blows my mind and instantly fills me with rage. Let people live how they want to live. It's none of random Joe's business. I don't understand why it matters at all. The world is a much different place from when the Bible was written 2000~ years ago.

If a random man who says he is a woman tries to enter the girls bathroom while my six year old daughter is in there, then yes, it's my business.

And a grain of salt in common sense is all I expect from strangers. Nothing more. Nothing less.
You wouldn't pass :p

Psychology/psychiatry has a term called delusional disorder - a "psychosis" in which a person cannot tell what is real from what is imagined. Claiming to be something your not - be it a different gender, race age, species, occupation, etc. is delusional.

What ignorance? The FACT and it is an evolutionary FACT made over millions of years, that a female and male body is inherently different, even the brains I believe are slightly different and NO amount of surgery will ever change that!
It's going against what a human man or woman physically and phsycologically is, it's making an excuse for people who frankly have mental health problems!
That is my opinion and probably the opinion of many others too. These transgenders should be helped in a mental manor, not by surgeons more then willing to take their money to alter their parts and lawyers ready to encourage them to have their gender on the birth certificate changed which will be a lie, so they too can make money.
That ignorance. Thank you.

Or... wait. Maybe you're on to something! Maybe we can also help "these gays" in a "mental manor" too!! After all, they also don't think like me, so it must be wrong!

Also, President Trump's take on the matter is the most fair out of all that I've seen: Leave it to the states.

If we can't agree that leaving this debate to a state level isn't fair, then don't you dare talk to me about being intolerant.
Of course it is not.
Most people live and die in the states they were born in.
It is not fair that you can have basic civil rights taken away based on which state you are in.

I'm happy Apple is for human rights, equal sexes, environment friendliness, etc. Everybody should when we all life together on the same small planet. What I find more difficult to swallow is that it looks like their focus is on these subjects instead of their core business. Please Apple, make some noise on your core business too.
