Apple and AT&T Websites Get Ready for iPhone 5 Pre-Orders

Why would you want that? The lines are of biblical proportion at Apple stores on launch day.

I'm in Hawaii as well. 9 PM sure is nice! Are you going Verizon or AT&T? I think I'm committed to Verizon - they're the only ones with LTE actually deployed out here.
 
Please help me understand lol

I asked a similar question earlier and i'm still slightly confused. Since i'm with AT&T right now and i'm definitely switching over to Verizon can I not order the phone through Verizon tonight? . . . . From what I understand if I want a phone tonight I have to pay full price? Or will I be able to order through Verizon and agree to a 2 year contract as well? Please bare with me lol.... Thanks :confused:

from what i know, if you order it tonight you will be starting a new contract and wont be able to transfer your number over.
 
Yay to AT&T. $829 for my iphone5 64gb. :( Since I bought the iphone 4s 64GB at $700+ on release date, I don't get any love and have to pay full price again...
Funny. AT&T says no discount till 5/13. BUT Apple app says wait till Oct 8th and I could get it for $649. ATT&T says that's wrong.

Upgrading?

Got 4S in November, will have to pay the $250 for upgrade, questions

1) will I be able to do this upgrade online today? or will I have to go in-store on 21st?

2) do I have to trade in my current phone?

answers to both questions will help me decide whether to go to sleep or continue watching Counting Cars and seeing the sad fools who think their cars are cooler than my 97' Accord.

They should. They have in past years and for any other product it's possible. I'm getting the same size but in white and having it sent to an Apple store for pick-up. There should be a special, very short line for us. Remember, we've paid, so they have to make us happy first come next Friday. :p
 
If the end of my contract date was 6/12/2012 and I preorder the 5, am I able to switch my number for free through the preorder? If it helps I'm a ATT Plus member, I'm afraid if I just preorder they will give me the same number and I won't be able to change it without paying them $36. Any insight folks?

apple, why can't you just debit my bank account while i'm sleeping and make sure you have a phone to my door launch day. You should have an app for this:apple:

They are still going to make you pay to change your numbe, but why are you wanting to change it?
 
Gonna try to setup my new Verizon account tonight and place the order. Here goes nothin' -- if not I'll call and be on hold ALL day tomorrow. :)
 
Contract

My question dealing with all of this is IF I were to buy the 32gb iPhone 5, but am still within my two year agreement, would I lose my grandfathered unlimited data plan? I am currently with AT&T and don't mind paying the $549 right now, but that includes the upgrade fee, renewal of contract, and THEN the "discounted" price of the iPhone.

I can't really dish out close to $800 for a phone...:(

Niice... auto-subscribe to new iPhones and iPads. I think I'd totally just do that, and make sure whatever credit card I've given them is locked and loaded on launch day. Why not?? :)
