Obama blocks immigration from a country that has terror problems for 6 months. I never even heard about it.

Trump does temporary block on visas while we review our procedures for deciding security for nations Obama identified for a planned 90 days and it is the end of the world. Even my esoteric professional organization is writing an open letter about this. I wrote to tell them to focus on my professional field.

Its all so much drama for so little. Now what are all these crazy over reacting people going to do if Trump actually does something, you know, outrageous, which he will. When we over react to the small stuff like its Armageddon, well boy wolf, etc.

SO just randomly calling people racists and bigots because they are ok with a measured approach to immigration is the truth you speak of....????

I, who have already clearly stated I am the grandson of legal immigrants FROM ONE OF THE 'BANNED' COUNTRIES ON THE LIST is now somehow racist against myself???????

My statement stands. You are a troll just popping off at the mouth. And the only reason you are doing it IS because you are anonymous on the internet.

Doesn't matter where you're from, anyone can be a racist. I'm basing what I say on the facts of your words, not randomly. You're blind, so you can' see it, but it's obvious.

This is all becoming so melodramatic. It isn't a ban. It's carrying out what Obama identified (and did before, BTW).

The hysteria is real and the internet is fanning the freakout flames. Everyone needs to calm down. Jesus.
Exactly. Many of the people freaking out have no idea specifically what is in the order. They hear what the media says and they freak out.

They forget Obama identified these risky countries to begin with.
Where were they when Obama banned immigration/visa travel from Iraq a few years ago???

Illegal Immigrants break the law 100% of the time when they arrive.
I don't believe that was the question. I believe the question was "How often do immigrants break the law the instant they arrive". Rather than answer the questions that are easy for you why not answer the actual question. With facts.

Well the thing is, I assumed you were American and understood English natively. I apologize and see now that you're an ESL student. Good luck with your studies, because most English speakers know that racist is routinely used as a synonym for bigots of all kinds. *sigh*

Also you're thinking of inference, not extrapolation.

Nope, wrong on both counts.

A bigot is one who judges. Anyone who does not judge is an idiot.

Canada has seen a spike in illegal crossings of foreigners from the US into the country, claiming political asylum.

Each and every individual and family who crossed illegally into Canada, were travelling on US foreign visitor visas. When these individuals were asked why they came to Canada, from the US, they all said it was because of the uncertain future of remaining in the US under the Trump Administration's recent edict.

NOW why would these foreigners have those concerns when they were only in the US on Visitor Visas?

OR did they have ulterior motives?
Who knows? But I'm glad there are gone.

This is as blatantly inaccurate as Nancy Pelosi saying "For every $1 spent on unemployment the government receives $2 back". If that were true the whole nation could go on unemployment and be out of debt in a few years.
Uk immigration of working age contributes £1.34 per £1 claimed in benefit (all benefit not just unemployment benefit by the way). Your answer once again has nothing to do with the question asked, I didn't even mention unemployment in my question

Ladies and Gentlemen - EVERYONE in what is now the United States came from somewhere else. Humanity did not originate here; even the Native Americans are "immigrants" to North America. So let's please stop with the whole "native-born American" idea. Many of us were fortunate enough to be born in a particular area of land that has, over only the past 75 or so years, started to care about and protect the rights of more and more individuals. We should not conflate that luck with an absurd belief that we, as Americans, are any more exceptional than any other group of people on the planet. We've been LUCKY. While it is tempting to confuse good luck with talent or skill, it is also wrong.

If anyone believes that an arduous process that takes 18 to 24 months is not sufficient for "vetting," well, then, quite simply they are either blind or willfully ignorant on how detailed that "vetting" process is.

Sure. People trying to protect their jobs, wages, and well being are racist. Racist card being thrown around like it's nothing - SJW style.

Protect from what, exactly? If you get replaced by a superior robot, or someone with a better work ethic, or someone who just plain does better work, the person to blame is in the mirror. Take responsibility.

We are a nation made stronger by skilled immigrants who are heavily screened and are truly needed. It's not made stronger by people who willingly break the law literally the very instant that they arrive.

Uh go reread US history and you will find many immigrants who came here illegally and have also contributed to the US.

Trump's immigration ban is a half assed with even worse execution. If the plan was to prevent terrorism, he failed. Most of the countries NOT on the list is where terrorists have come from. And whose citizens have killed US citizens.

I will not buy any Apple products before Apple stops with this political nonsense. Get a grip and pay your taxes to begin with!
I am pretty sure Apple pays every cent that they owe in tax.

Any company that is not legally minimising their tax bill is throwing money away and not getting the best return for their investors.
Whether that is fair or not is not for us to question.
Ask why such rules exist for tax minimisation and blame the people that wrote them.

Blaming Apple is like blaming a cop for not paying full price when they took up the 'buy a coffee get 2 donuts free' at their local mall.

100%. It's against the law to come here illegally. So if the come illegally they are willingly breaking the law.
Considering that this letter speaks about immigration, not illegal immigrants, I'm not sure what your constant prattling is about. One can be for immigration, yet still be against illegal immigration. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Apple, pay your taxes first. Walk the walk before you talk.

That said! Like in Full Metal Jacket, Apple you talk the talk, do you walk the walk?
After paying taxes and stop trying to evade them opening biz in other countries, then talk.

Show me proof that you're right. Facts, not biased opinions.

I don't have to prove anything, the fact are already out there, if you open your eyes.
Hey nutjob, there is no burden of proof placed upon me. It's all on the people who are all NAZI GERMANY OMG and all.

If those are the claims, you'd better bring some concrete proof to the table rather than internet whining and setting things on fire. Let's hear it.

Imagine if President Trump (say it outloud) did this. Most posters here are too young to remember this, but I certainly do (if you are misled by the dramatic media, no the child wasn't armed). Somehow this was just fine? I see. The hypocrisy is delicious.

Your question is irrelevant and purposely worded in a manner that I cannot answer in an attempt to win an argument that you cannot win.

Our immigration policy is a joke. Just because you can come here legally doesn't mean you are needed or a benefit to the nation. Not only do I want an immigration ban on the nations Trump called out, I want a 100% stoppage of all new immigrants to the nation for at least 10 years. We need to deal with the people that are here now before we take in more. I't unmanageable. We will be Germany before we know it, God forbid.

We need to deport all illegal immigrants in jail NOW. That's 30% of federal inmates. We need to fast track the courts to rule on all these absurd asylum hearings. Right now it takes up to 6 years for these hearings to take place, and when they do there is only a 15% appearance rate for these "non-law breaking refugees". Its a mess.

Yeah, great ... thanks.
Are you Canadian? Sorry man. I'm not glad that they are your problem now but I'm glad they are leaving.

Sure. The letter was about immigration. I am 100% against all immigration for the next decade. Therefore, all of my posts are relevant. I have also received about 200 likes in the past hour so my sentiments are not unique to me.
