Good question. It's a national holiday, so I would assume yes. I had the day off, but still needed to do some work from home.Just wondering, did Apple give its employees the day off?

amen to that, friend
I wish Apple had no political agenda and social justice goals to pursue.
Apart from self advertising and getting people to view Apples products, I'm struggling to see the connection here between a giant American consumer electronics giant Mr King Jnr's death?
Apple CEO Tim Cook also tweeted a photo of Dr. King and said "we honor [him] by working to help achieve justice and equality."
I assume you're talking about Trudeau. You should take this opportunity to move there. Personally, I live in a country where the millennials have elected a Prime Minister who is set on bankrupting the country through the transferring of wealth to individuals and groups who believe they deserve an equal standard of living to those paying the bill, without having to make a contribution themselves.
I wish Apple had no political agenda and social justice goals to pursue.
That's a complete, utter lie. Show me any evidence that shows the new administration's intention to eliminate the holiday. I'd love to see it. Otherwise, pipe down.
And Apple has not gotten this right. Apple and left wing companies like it are laying the groundwork for an incredibly ugly and depressing future where everyone's race is front and center, where you're an Asian American or an African American or a European American instead of just an American. Where your race factors heavily into what job you get, what school your kids get into, etc.
One example I noticed at Apple: a few years ago, almost overnight, I noticed that first tier Apple Support calls were being answered by black people, almost exclusively. Did Apple happen to suddenly hire a large number of black people just randomly? Of course not. Instead, Apple made a conscious decision to hire blacks to the exclusion of whites, and probably asians and every other group, largely because of their race, not their individuality. When the racial shakedown artist, Jesse Jackson, came to town and pointed out that there weren't many blacks and hispanics working in Silicon Valley, the liberal pushovers like Tim Cook fell all over themselves to apologize and pledge to "try harder", and never pushed back to point out how few blacks or hispanics graduated with technical degrees, or even bothered applying for non-technical jobs. But somehow, it became a failing of the Valley to not bend over backwards to recruit people based on their race.
For all of Tim Cook's love of MLK, I doubt he really understands the man. When King said "Free at last", he wasn't looking forward to a world that was hyper-aware of race, where everyone was evaluated by race first and individuality second. King was talking about a world where the individual was the only thing that mattered, REGARDLESS of race.
Tim Cook and Apple are moving in the opposite direction.
Apple's Leadership webpage shows 18 Executive Profiles of VPs and Senior VPs of which 15 are male and 3 female. There is only 1 black person.
You're obviously not "working" hard enough Tim.
Or could it be that you're an opportunist jumping on the MLK bandwagon for shameless publicity.
Either way you're a fraud and the sooner you go the better.
Sounds far less important than having a world that doesn't suck. But you're right I'm sure recognizing MLK Day took an incredible amount of resources from their hardware and software engineers.Apple needs to worry about releasing hardware and software that doesn't suck.

then they wouldn't be Apple... That's what made Job's and his vision for Apple different than other companies focused on profit onlyI wish Apple had no political agenda and social justice goals to pursue.
Yawn....Apple got this right. The only problem is that this is likely to be the last MLK Day because the racist fascists that are taking over the US government are likely to eliminate it as a national holiday.
We SHALL overcome some day, today is just not that day.
Pretty sure he backed Hillary.Claims to love Martin Luther King.
Reasons: Blackness, diversity appeal, civil rights movement, being on right side of history.
Real life: Supports republicans and Donald Trump.
I wish Apple had no political agenda and social justice goals to pursue.
And it's telling that you attack single mothers.

I completely agree, but at the same time **** happens and people fall into bad situations.I bloody well hope so. A basic edict, you should ONLY have a family IF you have the means to support and nourish that family.
Tim's a hack. Steve wouldn't have done anything remotely like this.
