As a buyer for a University library, the prices are on par with other design and art books. I'm sure it's a small print run, high-quality book. It's basically a sequel to their other design books. (So Far, and the 1997 one).

Call me crazy, but for once, I'm actually kind of glad Apple has done this! It's something out of their norm, and just meant as a collector's item. So obviously it's not for everyone. $200 or $300, it's for a very niche customer, and I love that!

I think I'll get the $300 one.

Why not get two so you can view one and keep the other one hidden in the cold dark basement for years to come to keep its value. That's what any collector would do.

It's a f****ing book.

I think we all know why Apple want so much 'greenery' around the new HQ - they are evidently smoking it all to fast!

I wonder if the 10.2" and 12.75" sizes are hinting at next years iPads...
[doublepost=1479228233][/doublepost]These $200 and $300 books are more evidence of where Tim Cooks priorities lie.

An antique shop is more of Tim Cook's cup of tea than Apple. Nostalgia! Never thought Apple could get so boring.

Give me a break. Apple has tons of circumstances where for example apps like the remote app (true story) was made by ONE PERSON. Im sure a couple people worked on this as a side project. A side project that had no bearing on current products.

What's their excuse for not delivering then? I'd say a lack of focus is a problem so anything detracting from that focus should be burnt in a garbage bin.

Umm... I thought we had already established that. :p

guess not, it needs to be repeated about 200 or 300 times. :D
[doublepost=1479249303][/doublepost]Let's see, the price increase on the MacBooks and now this book is all going to be used to make up the difference in decline on the quarterly profits its been missing on.

300 Dollars? I'm seriously thinking about canceling my Macbook Pro Order, selling my iPhone 7 and my iPad Air 2 and leave this godd**** eco system and this company FOR GOOD.

But I betchya you won't! You're stuck or invested way too deep in this eco-environment and Apple knows this, that's one good reason to keep raising the prices not to mention it'll help fix any declines they've been having.

Id' just like to remind you all that those of us that went to college spent this much on a single book before that was absolutely useless. Just some perspective.

Can't count school books. They've always been expensive really because they can get away with it being partly subsidized by gov't grants and loans. I used to pay that much for the school .PDF versions.

I'll wait for the digital version.

Hmm... does the book come with the usual 14-day return policy? ;) Digital version hitting the internet in 3..., 2..., 1..., .... :D:eek:

If no return period, then I guess we'll have to resort to manufacturing defects... thinks I see a little string sticking out of the spine... wonder what happens when I pull on the string

Hey, there was not a warning that said don't pull on the string, I thought it was the power cord. I want my money back.

Does anybody know if it's going to be on a yearly refresh cycle or will they screw us over by making us wait 18 months for the next gen? 2nd generations of Apple products are usually the best but I'm getting the itchy "buy" finger. Trying to decide whether to get one now or wait.

Just note that the pages in this book are non-user upgradeable and you will have to buy a new book every year.

Wait - this just in. Next year it will be released in Rose Gold. Tim says it'll be the most innovative book yet to be seen no-one knew that they needed.

Pretentious af.
They can release a dumb book that nobody will buy, but they can't freaking update the Mac Pro, which THOUSANDS of people are willing to buy?! What is going on at Apple headquarters?!

Question is - will it come with the same 1 year warranty and 90 day tech support? Can I take mine to the Genius Bar when the pages start falling out? Will they fix just the broken pages or will they give me a full exchanged out book?

These questions need answers, come on!

Johnny probably said "I'd really like something that chronicles all of the eye candy I've produced over the years", someone said numbers are down so you'll have to figure out a way to productize it and generate some revenue... BAM, Johnny gets his book, we get the chance to drop $200-$300 on a book all about the $200-$300+ products we've been buying.
