Everybody's whining about the price?
Well, it's printed in the US.
Prepare to pay such a decent premium for the iPhone designed in California made in Detroit.
Why should something printed in the US be a lot more expensive than something printed in China?

Lost me at that bit.

Waiting for the next generation Apple Book 2 with holographic feature the next big thing! $400 would buy again!

Sent from iPhone 7

There is no shortage of hubris at Infinity Loop these days. Sad thing is, when you look at this book and see the Jobs era products and then directly compare with the non-Jobs era ones you have to ask why there is so much hubris there. Whatever great stuff Ive designed in tadem with Jobs that magic is missing with Cook.

As a PR move Apple should released a free iBook version too. Also why now? Why not at an Apple incorporation anniversary date or something. Does Apple really think it's going to make bank on these as holiday gifts? If they sell 5K worldwide at full price I'd be shocked.

I guess the retail workers will be getting this as their holiday bonus.

Apple as just reached the point that they could start selling toilet paper with apple logo on it for 69$ each piece and would achieve record sales on it.

This is just stupid.

There was a time that I worshipped apple produts... Right now I just think they are profiting the most they can from their status.

Regarding the first picture, which most people have a grudge against the most, you can charge this thing for 2 MINUTES to get 9 HOURS of battery life. If it really bothers you, charge it overnight.

I agree it doesn't look great but it's not an issue.
i don't regard it being an issue, my only consideration is that it's plain ugly. this, regardless of how long it takes to charge.
it doesn't really fit to a company that brags about their product's design.

Phil:"Hey Tim, remember the 100 pencil? We're gonna see if we can get 200 for a book"
Tim:"See if you can get 300 for a bigger size"
Phil:"Good idea. We'll launch it and delay it to build up some hype"
Tim:"Solid"

Really though, I'm sure it'll be cool but sorta funny still.

I would love to have this in my library...truly.
Too bad the MBP wasn't $200 cheaper. I might have sprung for this.

That said, I'd hope the book actually has detailed text description of their process and thinking...not just closeup shots of products.

Not sure if there is VAT on imported books to the UK.
That 'iconic' book looks intetesting - thanks for posting.
Dont pay £40.00 though as price was £26.00 a few months back on amazon.co.uk wait for price drop.
Is available from other sellers for <£30 delivered.

What the f... are they serious? A $200 book of pictures I can download from the web. Wow.

I'd really have said this was an Onion article without the link to Apple's website.

The lack of self awareness is staggering (and yeah, I'm going there, but I really do not think Steve would have liked this, it's the sort of navel gazing he stopped when he came back to Apple).

Wauw, sounds cool. I really like the first photos. But I do wonder if they're gonna add these marvels:

:p

Battery case looks actually bad.
Mouse and pencil are MEANT to be like that: it prevents you from using it in a bad way, stressing the port with movement and getting lame movement too, while charging.
Also, since you people are such geniuses, how would you have solved tha pencil thing? With a cable to carry around. What do you get more? Nothing but some more minutes of uncomfortable usage, instead of waiting fo it to charge. You can get the cable, if you want, but I totally wouldn't.
Criticizing a design choice without having a better alternative is just stuipid.
