Are you serious Apple? How much will be an unsubsidized 64 GB iPhone 6+ in the rest of the world? 900 € ?

----------

What about the RAM? I strongly suspect the iPhone 6 to have just 1 GB while the iPhone 6+ will sports 2 GB ....

UK prices:
Code:
		16GB 64GB 128GB
iPhone 6 £539 £619 £699
iPhone 6 Plus £619 £699 £789

Whats the price for unsubsidized iPhone 6+ 16/64/128GB?
I could swear I came over a configuration page in the german online store while looking for infos and the 64GB iP6+ was 899,-€. Unfortunately I can't find the page anymore... should've made a screenshot :-/

Disappointing that they didn't leave an option for people who like smaller phones. [...] why couldn't they have left a 3rd smaller one?
Apple's approach is to keep iPhone 5s and 5c offered to their customers. Not exactly the latest tech, but at least they will make the iWatch work with those (and even the 5) as slight compensation. The missing NFC in the older models can then be compensated by the :apple:watch.

Anyone have a guess on what a 5s will cost after these come out?
On the above mentioned page the 5s was 150,-€ less than the 6 (iirc).

Not only does the iPhone 6 have NFC

Apple is actually rolling out NFC!!!!!!!

NFC with a purpose!!!!

Don't like saying it, but Steve would never have allowed the design on the 6. Looks like Jony on his own isn't as good without the master guiding him.

why do you say that?

Funny because I hardly ever see anyone with a 5c

I agree, I see a lot more 5's than 5c's... but I suppose the numbers must be right.

As was the livestream. Dodgy Chinese voiceover, constant freezing and error messages, the whole thing was completely amateur... and here I was thinking Apple was one of the biggest tech companies in the world with massive dedicated data centres.

It doesn't really give you much confidence in giving them control over a massive percentage of in-store payments.

Yeah, it was pretty terrible... and their previous event livestreams have been so reliable too. it was probably their whole new "liveblog" style layout. And, it did at least clear up at the end.

Thanks Guys...I was searching for that info. Can you tell me where you found that.
Directly from Apple: http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

P.S. Looking at the backs in that comparison, I'm not sure many or any could say the iPhone 6 is nicer looking than the iPhone 5S or 4S if it was up there. However, I imagine the iPhone 6 is going to feel light and sturdy enough to justify the new design for many of us.

The "Retina HD" name is silly. They should have either called the Plus a FHD 1080p display, or just enhance their retina marketing brand a different way. Now people will think their retina devices, excluding the iPhone 5s and before, aren't HD lol.

Other than that, it was great to see Apple finally make the move and release a Full HD phone, and a second phone that is HD.

So instead of dropping 16GB and starting at 32GB, they keep 16GB drop 32GB and go right to 64GB.

D*** move.

I'm not defending them at all, but if this was my business I'd do the same. A lot less people would be buying the 64 if it was 32/64/128. They are trying to make $$$ not do you a favor. Just sayin!

No sapphire glass. Fail :(
1GB Ram. Fail. :(
No stylus. Fail. :(
No optical stabilization on 4.7". Fail :(
No 4K. Fail. :(
8 MP camera. Fail. :(
Apple watch has to be connected with Iphone for GPS. Fail. :(
No significant battery improvements. Fail. :(
Stupid U2 Crap. Fail. :(
Big fat barbie watch. Fail. :(

Agree with all but 4k. Nowadays "No 8k" should be considered as fail, because even a cheapest microscope can distinguish 4k pixels!

If the 4.7" version included the OIS camera I'd be all over that. But I would have to go with the 5.5" version for the camera.

It's a moot point since I'm only a year into my contract w/iPhone 5S. I'll hold out for the iPhone6S+ (that's getting a little weird). Maybe by then it'll have the sapphire display.

Also, no Apple-designed cases this time around?

Curious, as i don't follow this anywhere as much as everyone else does??
Why would he be against this?

Steve Jobs was famous for not really caring about what his companies' customers wanted in a product. He especially disdained selling products that had features prominate on other devices on the market. He actually did say "Customers won't know what they want until we (meaning he) showed it to them." He believed the iPhone had the perfect size and proportions for a touch interface phone and would have never released a larger one regardless of how much "market analysis" indicated the consumer demand for it.

help me guys... are there any detailed photos of the silver iphone?

im mean the silver color on the back might be the same as on macbooks... but what does the front look like? black? white?

Yep. Everything about is very nice but the back looks terrible. Luckily, it's something I'll easily cover with a case.

Steve Jobs | Walter Isaacson

Fifty years later the fence still surrounds the back and side yards of the house in Mountain View. As Jobs showed it off to me, he caressed the stockade panels and recalled a lesson that his father implanted deeply in him. It was important, his father said, to craft the backs of cabinets and fences properly, even though they were hidden. “He loved doing things right. He even cared about the look of the parts you couldn’t see.”

---

He insisted on making the circuit board inside the Mac look great

Nobody but Apple's engineers would know what the printed circuit board inside the Mac would look like, but Jobs was critiquing it based on how it looked.

An engineer said to him, "The only thing that matters is how well it works. Nobody is going to see the PC board."

Jobs response according to Isaacson: "“I want it to be as beautiful as possible, even if it’s inside the box. A great carpenter isn’t going to use lousy wood for the back of a cabinet, even though nobody’s going to see it."

He also believed he could cure pancreatic cancer with diet. He was wrong on both fronts.

Apple is still selling the iPhone 5c and 5s as their entry level iPhones - with 4" displays.

Yeah, but it would be nice to give people who want up to date hardware with a smaller screen, there is no reason Apple had to copy most android manufacturers in crippling smaller screen devices.

When the iPhone was first launched, Steve Jobs also told us that we didn't need an API for the iPhone.

What if they'd started at 32GB but at $299?

I think some people were expecting a price hike for the larger models.

Besides, regardless if they started at 16GB or 32GB, I'm still going to 64GB (or maybe 128GB) for my next one...

Apps take up a lot of space these days.

Apps and their storage. My Facebook app takes up over 1GB just by itself. It caches all the images and stuff from your newsfeed and there's no easy way to delete that garbage unless you uninstall the app and then reinstall it.

I have the 16GB iPhone 5 and have NO music and NO videos on it and I'm completely full. Just from apps and their cache storage and photos and iMessages.
