A Shame it’s not available in the UK. I would give this a shot.
[doublepost=1553544091][/doublepost]I actually signed up to a similar service on a reduced price trial. I didn’t continue with the subscription as it ran out at the end of February because I was waiting for Apple’s version. I’m going to sign up again

Because everything you just said is a joke. People in finance read the WSJ to see what the public-version of events is, not for actual information.

You have no idea what you're talking about. The WSJ has broken countless news stories across a wide range of categories. Just look into a little story about a company named Theranos for an example. Their corporate board was stock full of corporate and political heavyweights yet they found out about the fraud at Theranos the same way WSJ subscribers did - by reading it in the WSJ. That story involved nearly a year of investigative journalism.

I just subscribed, but i only see magazines, where is la times, Wall Street journal and Toronto sun?

Why would any professional put on a painter costume before announcing the launch of a new service for the most valuable company in the world??
I don’t get it. I read a lot of the fashion mags he was showing off. NONE of them have foretold a trend of Sherwin Williams painter’s coveralls suddenly becoming board room/public presentation attire.
Lol, off-topic I know... but it was jarring enough that I didn’t hear anything he said.
I’m kinda hoping they stay with the theme- I want to see a plumber & a roofer, in full gear, announce details of the television service!

LOL, I saw that too and got a good laugh too. Maybe he was going skydiving after the keynote was over.

As some others have already said, Readly is by far the better value. Apple late to the game and missed the boat again, unfortunately.
I’m going to resubscribe to Readly my 3 month offer ended at the end of February and held off subscribing to wait and see what Apple had up their sleeves. I wouldn’t have minded giving Apple’s subscription a go but it’s not available in the UK.

I'm curious how quickly Apple will add new magazines and newspapers to the collection. Will they have 1 more publication each month or 30 more?

It'll likely take a bigger collection than this initial offering to tempt me to sign up.

Good idea, but about 10 years too late. $120/yr is a lot unless you already subscribe to several of these. Many are available for a lot less as stand-alone subscriptions. Also, hard to tell if content will be limited or otherwise curated.

Toronto Star. Trust me, you don't want the Sun. Actually it would be better to have the Globe & Mail which is like the WSJ.

I haven't bought any magazines in a long while and don't think I will subscribe. As for news, no way am I going to subscribe to any of them and pay.

Hate to say it, but this is probably DOA.

Yes, I have a feeling that the young Apple crowd is not that thrilled. They seem to be targeting an audience outside their optimal demographic.

And... Older folks like me know that most of the writing is boring, tedious, and generally useless in everyday life. People will try this, but find after a couple of months that they are wasting $10/month.

Definitely targeted at those who like to read. ;)
True. But are those the young folk, their best demographic? Those people are on Instagram, Snapchat, FB, etc. They aren't reading through legions of magazines. This is like aapl re-adopting DVD drives

I’ve tried signing up on both my iPhone and iPad, but am having no luck. It says purchasing but then that goes away and then nothing. I’ve tried numerous times and still not working.

I was looking for a hook to get me and didn't find it.
I thought it would have to be under $5 to get me to even look at it.
Boy did they miss that mark.
$10/month for listening to a choice of a million songs vs $10/month for a couple of magazines I may look at for a few pages?
No one raised their hand when this price was discussed?

Also, can you say when you start the trial or does it start when you update to new app?

Lol some people read more than they listen to music.

Yeah, haven’t been in Toronto for awhile, the only thing good about the sun, was the sun girl, but I’m sure that’s gone now
