And here... we... go...

Now it's time to decide if I want to do a clean install or not.

No, you don't have to prove anything in the store. You buy it for $29. If you don't have Leopard, it won't install. Its just that easy.

Just ordered my in oz

I wonder if we'll get the free T-shirts at the launch like we did for Leopard. If yes, I'll definitely head out there to an Apple Store and wait, if not I'll probably just order online :).

Very refreshing for Apple to be releasing something early and not at the last possible moment to to just meet their deadline, like iLife 09. I can't wait!

Wht's up with the rest of the site?

Anybody else notice that the store is still all weirded out? I just went to look at Mac Pros and iMacs and the page won't let me configure anything. Also, i had a couple of saved carts I created two days ago with a Mac Pro and iMac, and now it says that the products i placed in those carts are no longer available. Are we getting a iMac and Mac Pro upgrade, too, or is this happening because of the whole Snow Leaopard change?

If I go to an Apple Store on the 28th to purchase Snow Leopard, will I need to prove that I use Leopard currently in order to get the $29 price? This process is confusing me right now.

No. The installer on the update version will check to see if you have 10.5 installed before letting you install 10.6. So as long as you have 10.5 on your computer you are good to go.

How long to wait?

I'm usually an early adopter, but have so much upcoming work that I cannot afford to be working through glitches. Any idea how long it normally takes before the major bugs are worked out?

Also, is there a way to see if there will be any software compatibility problems?

thanks!

Placed my pre-order for the family pack. Now I have something to look forward to this week!

will retail stores like Best Buy be selling Snow Leopard on release day (28th)? I ask because i do not have a local Apple store, and would rather walk in and buy it than order online.
