UK gets ripped off again.

I'd love to know what exchange rate Apple base their UK prices on. We seem to be getting shafted. How does USD$29.99 translate to UK£25.00?
Gits.

Ok just noticed that this has already been commented on. Damn time lapse with comments posting and then appearing.

what time?

Does anyone know what time it will be available at the apple stores? Leopard wasn't available until 6pm. The reason I'm interested is that I'm off during the day, but I start work at 5pm. If it's 6pm, I may try to make other work arrangements.

The reason I want to go to the store is that for Tiger and Leopard they gave out t-shirts, and I want to have a complete set.

Anybody else notice that the store is still all weirded out? I just went to look at Mac Pros and iMacs and the page won't let me configure anything. Also, i had a couple of saved carts I created two days ago with a Mac Pro and iMac, and now it says that the products i placed in those carts are no longer available. Are we getting a iMac and Mac Pro upgrade, too, or is this happening because of the whole Snow Leaopard change?

imac page is weird for me too. oh dear god i hope it's an update. been holding off for a new imac and can't wait for the line to get updated / price cut.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE :)

I wonder if we'll get the free T-shirts at the launch like we did for Leopard. If yes, I'll definitely head out there to an Apple Store and wait, if not I'll probably just order online :).

I wondered the same thing but I like to avoid the Apple store as much as possible these days so I've pre-ordered.

Are the Apple stores opening normal hours or is it launching at 6pm?

I was wondering the same thing. In the past, Apple has always closed late aftenoon, then reopened at 6PM. They also, in the past, handed out some little gift to the first 500-1000 people in the store. I think last time was dog tags or something.

I just ordered mine!!!!!!!! Be here Friday August 28th according to the email.

Snow Leopard! Help me Please

Ok, Snow Leopard is great news, but I've got some issues that I'm unsure about.

When i bought my macbook, it came with tiger, but i bought it in the time where you get the discounted version of leopard, so, I'm wondering whether i have to get the £130 Mac Box Set or whether I can stay cheap and spend the £25 for just a normal upgrade. Do I need iWork and iLife 09 to run Snow Leopard?

The other problem is I'm running out of space on my internal hard drive, I have a 60 GB itunes folder. I was wondering whether I could just move the itunes folder onto my external hard drive. Would that work? or would it confuse itunes when I import a CD? or download something?

everyone's help would be valued,
Thanks

dog tags? I think it was a shirt. I too want to know if its closing in early afternoon and re-opening. Plus getting a free gift is nice too!

I take any language options when ordering are for the documentation only? The DVD's are all the same right?

Can I ask a dumb question though, what's the point of the family pack? Because it doesn't ask for a CD-Key does it? So you can just install it as many times as you want. Or is it more on the "honor system" or something?

We got Leopard t-shirts at the Stanford Shopping Center store when they did their late re-open last.

because apple trust you to be honest and agree to the terms that you have to click " agree" to. Be honest. Plus I have heard rumors of "phone home software"

Before i preorder from apple ... will Adobe CS2 work in SL? any way shape or form?

I don't see why it wouldn't, but double-check Adobe's website. If there's any conflicts, they'll post something there - plus their forums are helpful when there's a problem (or a least it's a place where people post their problems.)

Edit - Someone already caught my error. PowerPC removed from SL... yada yada :)

Guess my weekend has now been planned. Got 3 machines to install SL on. Debating whether to get that speedy SSD for the MP to go with it or will I just upgrade and do a fresh install later. :)
