You can't spot a joke?
So do we know if Apple has a nation wide time they plan to open the doors for Snow Leopard? (I remember last time Apple stores closed, then opened later that day for a launch party). From what I can tell its normal hours...so I'm looking into go to 24/7 Apple Store in NYC
Shakes fist at amazon!

I got Amazon.com Order Update on Snow Leopard!![]()
Hey, I asked if it was a joke. I joked back. Someone else trotted out all the versions...
but did you PUT the UTD disc in your cart? i.e did you actually order it?
it WAS a joke... i was poking fun at all the posts on here asking "well what date will i be able to get it?"... multiple requests for "are they going to have free t-shirts?" and endless speculation about the different ways SL will be able to be installed based on the multitude's of previous install configurations that people currently have!
So why did they hype the address space in 10.5 and now again in 10.6?
And how many apps could use the extra ram in 10.4?
If all this is correct, I don't see why so many people are excited about Snow Leopard coming out this Friday. Most of them won't be able to take advantage of 64 bit until all their favorite applications are written for it. They are all excited to get it because it's something new. When they get home and install it, they will find a bit of a let down from the excitement because they really won't notice anything different. If anything, it might cause more problems than it's worth. It seems that most of the cool stuff is deep under the hood and not very accessible until the applications catchup to the os. I suppose mid next year is when we will see the power of 64 bit and Snow Leopard. Until then, it's a bit of overhype for the casual user.

We'll find out on Friday when someone tries it.
All of this has happened before and it will happen again.Well, this will be my last post because the last 5 pages or so have been people who refuse to read back a few pages before they post the same questions over and over.
"Hey, did you know they are shipping on Aug 28th? Just found out that my UTD order will ship on Aug 28th, thought I would let everyone know so they can check their order".
"Will I be able to install the $29 upgrade disc on an empty drive?
"Is it shipping on Friday or delivered on Friday?"
"Does Leopard have to be installed before I install SL?".
Well, I have seen these same questions over and over so to the rest of you enjoy these repetitive questions since people refuse to read back a few pages and see these questions have been asked and answered.![]()
