It’s real simple, they said by “innovation” only.

Spinach green is NOT innovation.

As an Apple user, I expect the best products bc I’m paying top dollar.

And then when they come out with a spec bump asking for a fresh stack it’s no wonder people are outraged

Same here, I am an Apple user since a long time, If I pay such a big amount then at least I expect a really good product, Next year they will remove the notch and call it revolutionary and extraordinary. Like every other company is innovating and coming up with new cool things but Apple sadly is coming up with hardly anything.

We might be Apple loyalists but that loyalty comes with the minimal expectation of better products. Not just new color, faster charger, congrats! now go thanks.

You should review the list of improvements to the phone. Processor, screen, camera, materials, battery, all improved. Haha outraged, again - it's a phone everyone.

Did anyone else catch the “IPhone Pro now with 3D glass” part?

Does that mean that previous iPhones used 2D glass? That is WAY more impressive!

Assuming we're talking about the Max... $1099 usd is $1602 AUD. The US price doesn't include sales tax, which yours does, so add on another $140-150 AUD or so, and that gives you $1740-1750.

Meanwhile here in Canada, $1099 usd is $1445 cad, but it's priced at $1519, which is still better than last year, which I think was $1579.

They start at $1749 in Australia which is crazy

So you don't want them to think different, you want them to think like everyone else. They don't include 4 cameras for the shake or doing it, like everyone else does. Or make a frameless screen if it needs a strange mechanism, like everyone else does. And they don't change their design every year, because if you think your phone needs a redesign every 12 months, maybe the problem is the design itself.
Sorry but in 2019 fall top smartphone with wide bezels is not serious.

5G next year as part of the QUALCOMM deal.
It has wifi6 though you'd have to upgrade your home wireless to use it.
Face ID is faster and works at wider angels, this is hardware.
Reverse charging was scrapped last minute as they weren't happy with the efficiency of it. You'll see it on next years iphones. Along with 5G and in screen thumbprint reader and a new design.
Where did you get that Face ID hardware had been improved? The same 30% faster figure has been given for iOS 13 on current phones. If the Face ID hardware was improved, wouldn't they have at least spent some time emphasizing that since there were so few non-camera advancements on this phone.

Yes, I read on these boards yesterday that Reverse Charging was scrapped, but if Android has been able to do it for some time why can't Apple figure it out. It's like the charging pad that never happened. Whoever is in charge of that group is slacking.

Apple wanted to use the Qualcomm chip on the 2018 Verizon iPhone but was unable to come to terms. Since the feud ended, I'm thinking they will be using Qualcomm on the 2019 Verizon phones and not waiting until the introduction of the Qualcomm 5G next year. My Qualcomm modem in my 6 had superior range to the Intel modem in my Xs

Nope, 11 Pro not the Max model

I would say they’re “improved” but it’s like a spec bump.

Like we added 15 more horsepower to the new model vehicle but it’s mostly a carry over minus white stitch in the leather and new wood grain color options and new tail lamps.

Not innovation.

You must be following the wrong posters. I can list a dozen members who only know how to cheerlead and defend Apple.

This thread reminds me why I barely ever read the forums on this site anymore.

Complain, complain, complain.

Every. Single. Year.

Why are you even here?

Just move on if you’re that upset.

Yeah, i think the “Pro” moniker for a phone is kinda silly & pretentious really. But as a travel photographer, i do appreciate the 3 cameras. So i will definitely be upgrading to the iPhone 11 Pro.

Well..

100 watts of charging power vs the 12 watts max that lightning provides (that Apple calls fast charging!) and USB 3.1 transfer speeds out of the box for a start.
plus usb-c on every device on the planet and i can get rid of the 7 different cables i need to carry when i travel....

It's the camera that clinched it for me, too (along with the smaller form factor, going from a plus sized to the 5.8 Pro).

We travel a lot, and the phone have - increasingly - been our main (and often only) travelling cameras. And we take a lot of pictures, too. (Too many, to be honest.) :)

Oh, and the bump (nice pun), "vanishes" into the case, anyway (I'm not going "naked".)

Truly, these phones have more or less been the manifestation of the maxim that the best camera in the world is the one you have with you. I have a really nice Canon 7D with L glass to go along, and I only use it when I consciously decide to have a 'photo shoot'. Everything else is the phone. I'll take at least 100 iPhone shots for every DLSR shot I take. It's kinda nuts. But, nuts or not, if that's my reality, then it behooves me to have the best camera on me that I can afford.

It has improved face ID. Faster and works from greater angles.

Ineeded. I can't believe they haven't advertised this. Or maybe I didn't pay enough attention. "Face ID is now 30 percent faster. It works from farther away. At more angles, too. And it’s still the most secure facial authentication in a smartphone."

Keeping my pristine 7+ one more year (5G and TouchID under the screen).... but got home to live stream just in time for the presentation of the Camera capabilities - very, very impressive. Makes the bump less ugly - Form follows Function.

Same brother! Jet Black 7+ lives for another year at least or until it drops off the iOS update support!

The camera quality, resolution, etc is the same as on the Max model. Video recording is really great with stereo sound.
In comparison to iPhone 7 camera it’s probably amazing :) But you decide of course.

One of the best things about waiting a few years to upgrade is that it's really hard to be disappointed with the new hardware. ;)

So?

Sorry to say this, but the “presenters” of each product besides Phil, are kind of dull and drab. They don’t really create the excitement around the products/features they are introducing. Painful to watch most of this.
I think the presenters were great. My favorite was the woman that presented the iPhone 11. She seemed fun. Phil was pausing too much and he was cringe to watch. He kept mispronouncing things and in my opinion seemed a bit out of place out there, compared to all the younger looking presenters up there. Seems like a grandpa struggling to remember what to say.
