It’s not called the iPhone 17 air. It’s only called the iPhone air. The marketing team thought there might be people like you so they made sure they didn’t call it that.
If the development team understood there were people like me, a lot of us, they might have actually had a better overall release today. This event was below subpar for Apple and rather insignificant.

Apple today acknowledged that Samsung and Google are continuing to separate themselves from Apple, who is in no hurry to reclaim those customers.

I was actually looking up the thermal coefficients of Al vs Titanium when they mentioned aluminum transfers heat 20 times more than titanium; so that makes sense why they switched on the Pro.
What doesn't make sense is why they went with Titanium on the Air, then (although the greater strength for a thinner body makes sense). I would think the Air has even more cooling issues than the Pro; hmmm.

For my potentially first iPhone Pro I think this looks great. The only thing that gives me pause is the base 17. ProMotion used to be one of the Pro selling points but since all the new models have it then I suppose the primary difference for me will be the cameras and A19 vs A19 Pro. My current 14 Plus is already the 256GB version and I am able to fit everything comfortably within 256GB.

I think I will still get the 17 Pro unless the cost here in Canada is simply insane. I am going to be waiting for reviews anyway.

Personally, I think the design of the 17 pro is a disappointment. Also think the whole story about thermal conductivity in the presentation is to hide the fact that it's a cost reduction measure vs using titanium. I really like the air, but afraid that the omission of the ultra wide camera prevents me from acquiring it. Strangely enough the 2TB tier does not seem to be available in the Netherlands.
No, it was a discreet way to acknowledge that titanium suck for high-performance devices and that the 16 Pro was a scam.

Battery life, sure. But also other things, like...

Ok, it'd mainly the camera: like the 8x zoom, and camera improvements in general. (He..ck, even the front camera looks brilliant).

And a minor thing: The lanyard attachment on Apple's own cases could tip the scale.

Also, I never really liked my 15 pro. There's something about it that just doesn't spark joy... ;)
Totally get it if it makes sense for you go for it!

I personally feel the main sensor on the Pro is to old now. They still use basically the same sensor as the 14 Pro.

What's nice, as of right now on 9/9. The trade in value (for example - a 13 Pro Max,) I think only dropped $20 bucks since I last checked on Sunday.

I was curious what the trade in was a few days ago, that showed $340

I’d guess that the chip in the Air is underclocked to operate cooler for longer?

Nice colour, amazingly ugly designs. Innovatively so even. One of those times I'm genuinely surprised the leaks were on point. I mean at least the pro won't wobble as much when laid "flat" but couldn't they have achieved that more aesthetically? And as for the Air, there seems to be literally no point when the camera bump makes it twice the thickness in practice. The image with the battery pack on the back of the Air kind of says it all lol.

In the article there is this line:
"Both devices can be configured with an all-new 2TB storage capacity, which is an increase over the previous 1TB maximum"
Is this correct? I can only see the 2TB option available for the Pro Max, not the Pro
