browniemix said:Anyone know if it will probably work with USB 1.1? It says 2.0 recommended on the tech specs page, but 2.0 required on the apple store page. However, I just got off the phone with apple, and the guy said he had never heard of a Mac(which I have) not work with an iPod with USB 1.1. Any thoughts?

(Trust me on this... I used to own a black Audi TT. Now I own a SILVER Audi TT. I'll never buy another black car again.)

Apple had to take it off the market if they wanted to promote nano...most people would pass up 4gb-color-screen-ultrathin-ipod for 6gb mini if they were to spend $249. This was to market nano as the only option at $199-$249 range.
IMO, when 1.8inch hard drive makers (such as Toshiba) starts making 10gb drives, expect to see iPod mini come back into play then, probably at $279 or something like that (with nano price drop to $179-$229.
This was a very shrewd move by Jobs.

Mybe its just me, but I saw at least one new one ... the fram split in the middle and then each side opened like a double door, out toward the right and left side ...
Is this new? Could there be a keynote update in the near future?
Why is this a total rip off?alexeismertin said:Total rip off!!
Less GB's more money, and the suckers will flock to buy it!!
SAD DAY
Yvan256 said:Yeah I noticed that too! Maybe Keynote 3 is just around the corner?!
Did they ever add things such as new transitions with a regular software update?

corywoolf said:there's a 3rd party plug in that has lots of transitions for keynote. Keynote 3 is at least 1.5 years away.
mrgreen4242 said:I bet you are dead on. If I had to guess we will see at MWSF in January saying "Well, everyone was so sad to see it go... we had to bring it back. But better".
My guess is an 8gb mini and a 4gb nano rather than the 2/4 or 4/6 we have/had. $249 for the mini, 199 for the nano. Mini will get color screen, better battery, TV out for photos (while nano will not have this feature), and also maybe slightly lighter (say 3oz rather than 3.5).
The shuffle will get the 2gb model then at $149, and the 1gb shuffle for $99. Or less on both, say $139 and $89. The 512 will get dropped.
