You’re welcome! Sorry about that snarky comment there, though.
Also, good job with the quotes lol

I'm not even going to lie. I have my Pro 11 sitting in front of me, and I was discussing with the gf that I think I want a new ereader... but then Apple has to go and put out a modern Mini.

I'm very, very temped. And I know mom is going to get one for her birthday this year.
Here is the thing, iPads will never be as good as e-ink (e-readers) for reading. I love my iPad Pro 12.9, but the Kindle Oasis and the Kindle Voyage have a very special place in my heart.

Damn... well the analysts INCLUDING the apparently always correct Koh, got it totally wrong!!

So much for a cheaper iPad Mini, was not expecting this at all.
But will be looking into it for sure. Damn powerful with what seems to be a hell of a screen. But still expensive hmm...

Yeah for a new mini! Too bad i don’t need it now since I bought last gen for $250 last Black Friday. It was way too possible that Apple was going to drop it.

And what’s with this ?air? Thing somewhere between base iPad and pro? I’m an Apple guy and even I have no idea what iPad products they have now.

I'm happy with the updates on the Mini. I was hoping for A11 or better, laminated display, and 3 gb ram (jury still out on that one). I expect to be buying one ASAP. I think the new Mini checks most of my boxes.
I’m pretty confident that both new iPads will have the 3GB RAM A12 out of the XR. But take that with a grain of salt.

Not sure where MR got their numbers, but Apple lists the iPad mini at $379 on the US site... not $399. Not a big difference I know.

They are getting it from the Apple site.

Wow Apple is literally just designing to whatever parts they happen to already have in stock

38% price increase for usable internal storage

Apple has it as 399 on the US apple website... If you show 379 please screen shot picture and post.

I take it the Touch ID on this is still the 1st generation with the clickable button?

But why the Apple Pencil 1? Having 2 different pencils that only work with certain iPads is bound to cause confusion.

Apple should be phasing all iPads to the new Pencil 2, not introducing brand new iPads that work exclusively with the older pencil.
Someone else mentioned that supporting the Pencil 2 on the Mini would be hard due to space requirements?

Crippled iPads to “make them less expensive”. Old design, fine, lighting, fine, but no Apple Pencil 2 support, lame. Would not buy for this reason alone.

Use my IPAD mini 4 128Gb for streaming of netflix, Twitch, Amazon prime some youtube etc and think its perfect still for it. Not worth really spending the 422 + tax and trading it in for 140 to apple credit. But maybe if a black Friday or christmas special lowers the price a bit more i may make the move. The screen quality specs are impressive for the Mini 5 but the display on the 4 is still crisp and i don't notice a lag. Maybe I can get a shmuck to by the mini 4 for 200 ish on the marketplace or craiglist!

will you guys stop with the iphone SE2 stuff there wont and never will be a Iphone SE2 if there was it would have been out buy now

Don't bother. These are the same people who talk non-stop about the Mac Pro thinking Apple cares about a fraction of a percent of customers. It's really annoying.

The average person won’t need or notice the difference between 1, 2, or 4 GB of RAM, despite what the self-proclaimed “pro” users claim on here.

That's what a salesman would say.

For smart consumers, 1GB was useless years ago, 2GB is absolute minimum without future proofing and 4GB+ is what's expected from a $400 device in 2019. The #1 hardware spec that limits future proofing is DRAM.
