Why did they call it the same name as a previous different product ?
Same reason they don’t number or uniquely name MacBooks, MacBook Pros etc. It’s simpler and cleaner. Cars have been doing it forever. You don’t go out and buy a Honda Civic 9.0.
Why did they call it the same name as a previous different product ?
Yeah that frustrates me as well.. I remember they always use to say the price reflects the cost of doing business in the UK? Am I wrong in saying the dodge tax or vat?$399 in the US and £419 in the UK! WTF Apple?!
400$ for something that will get support for the next 4 years
Makes no sense at all. It's an iPhone 9.
How many of you would feel comfortable buying this or any new products coming out of China?
illl be waiting till the virus has officially gone or a vaccine is ready.
But now accessories will need to state "iPhone SE (2020) or something similar. iPhone 9 would have been odd, though, since it has better internals than the X.Re-used existing body, panel, and touchID manufacturing chains, check.
Put the latest processor into it which will reduce bulk order costs of the processor itself, check.
From a business perspective this is EXACTLY the same product and process of the last generation SE.
Looks like the phone dimensions are identical to the 8 and not thicker as some rumours suggested.
He's been right about a lot of things. So Prosser was right.
The lack of Face ID is a bummer.
Ah, thanks for the clarification. Disappointing about Night Mode...but the camera is still a great improvement on my first generation SE. Currently I often use my DSLR...this camera should make it less of a requirement.Button placement was not altered.
Night mode requires 100% Focus Pixels which the XR lens does not have.
Damn, $599 CAD. Apple really hedging on the CAD dollar drop more than usual right now.
The iPhone 3G and 3GS, way back in the day.Is this the first white-backed iphone to have a black front bezel?
But a cheaper phone with Touch ID is a killer for COVID-19 regions. The lack of Face ID is a bummer.
Looking at the specs it would appear, apart from the XR camera and IP67 rating and Touch ID there aren’t a lot of differences between iPhone SE and iPhone 11 now?
iPhone Stimulus EditionJust in time for those 1,200 checks. Prosser definitely nailed this. 9to5 needs to start showing him some respect.
Even as someone who is 6' 0", I prefer my SE over the larger iPhones.Too big and too heavy. We really need smaller and lighter phones, not everyone is 5' 11"
In East Asia, females are generally shorter but love bigger phones, as they make their face look smaller.Too big and too heavy. We really need smaller and lighter phones, not everyone is 5' 11"
Count me as one of those to be happy to still have Touch ID. I don't have a Face ID phone so I don't have TRUE insight, but Touch ID has always felt to me in theory to give me greater control, takes a very specific thing to instigate the unlock. I could be wrong, but that's why my gut tells me at any rate.Well, there are other models with that feature right?
Some people probably would say "bummer" if it had that feature too - so the choice to not have Face ID is still there.
I think Apple probably figured it all out.
