Looking at the specs it would appear, apart from the XR camera and IP67 rating and Touch ID there aren’t a lot of differences between iPhone SE and iPhone 11 now?

So basically a 3 year old phone (iPhone 8) with an up to date processor.

Not terrible...but the target audience could also just buy a refurbished 8 for around $250.

Without Portrait Mode, A13 Bionic, faster cellular speeds, etc.

The 8 is still a great phone, but this is definitely the better choice. Actually, I would buy this SE over the 8 just for the fact that it's more future-proof.

Incorrect. The virus survives up to 5 days depending on the surface. Longer in cooler conditions. Science.

iPhone SE compares poorly with competition in all regards but the processor. For example Samsung A51 has 6.5" super AMOLED screen, modern set of cameras (triple camera plus depth camera), under the screen fingerprint sensor and up to 8GB of RAM. It costs $350.

People were wanting a smaller iPhone with some of the latest tech, so that is what Apple gave them.

It was, for some time next year. Though Kuo left it open whether it would be a 5.5" similar to the 8 plus, or a 6.1" like the XR and 11. For me personally another 5.5" with A14 would be interesting, an 11s not so much.
