I'll turn the question around - why would they? It would be like sticking a V8 on a lawnmower - using 10 times the fuel for performance that you didn't need and couldn't even use.

Apple Announces November 10 Event, Apple Silicon Macs Expected to Debut

To be honest, another underwhelming event anticipated.
Rene Ritchie had been predicting the event would be announced next Tuesday for November 17th. I’m glad it’s a week earlier. Hopefully this means mass availability before the end of the year.
LOvetodream just leaked it’s only the 13 inch getting released. So disappointing if there’s no redesign. Given how Apple are leaning into Dolby Vision on the iPhone, any new Mac that doesn’t have hdr is dead on arrival to me.
No clue what point you are making, One More Thing has almost always been reserved for major announcements. Encore would imply just more of the same...
Since the title of the event is One More Thing, conventional wisdom would say close to zero.

I think Apple still has to organize this event, even though its virtual and cutting it close to Thanksgiving is a no-go for Apple. I think they had no choice but to hold it on the 10th, especially if they want to release the products right before Black Friday to catch the Black Friday/Holiday sales....
When L0vetodream tweets, you know its accurate. So, 2 products, and not 3...interesting...or maybe there is a 3rd product, but because it will be released later, China and the supply chain hasn't gotten their hands on it yet and so leakers don't know anything about the product? Could be.....
if you accept Intel, you ca update to great computer... but if you want Apple silicone, you have to wait one year.
What would a new appletv do? It already plays the top level of steaming output (Dolby vision and atmos lite). Is it just a speed bump you’re after?
My expectations for the new Macbooks:
1. Enough performance to blow intel laptops out of the water.
2. 15 hours of battery life.
3. Same price range as the current lineup.
