It would be weird if m3 Pro and Max came to the MacBook Pros and the M3 didn't come to the MacBook Airs. I am going to say they update the following.

I think definitely we will see:

M3 24" iMac
M3 MacBook Pro (w Touch Bar)
M3 Pro/Max - MacBook Pro 14" and 16"

50/50 they update the rest of the line:
M3 and M3 Pro - Mac Mini ***
M3 13" and 15" Macbook Air ***
M3 13" MacBook Air (Original)
M3 Pro/Max - Mac Studio ***

1% Chance:

M3 Ultra Mac Pro ***
You're probably right on the touch bar but I'm still holding out hope for a redesign.

Would love a lower entry price for having more ports and a fan, but without needing to spend a ton of extra money on power I dont really need.

remove that M3 Pro Mac studio and M3 Mac Pro
M3 Pro belongs to Mac mini not for Mac Studio

Apple introduces the all new AirPort lineup with Wi-Fi 7 mesh networking. "Scary Fast" Wi-Fi.

I realize you may be joking... but given the prices of Wifi 7 tech, and thus the perception of enormous margin, I could actually see Apple jumping back into this. Where there's likely big fat profit, Apple is likely interested. It looks like there is huge profit in that tech right now.

It's gonna be an M2 iMac with possibly M2 Pro. And if there's a huge surprise then they reveal a 27 inch imac. Maybe an M3 iMac if Gurman is right. And zero chance for M3 Pro/Max chips: they're really gonna screw customers who bought a M2 Pro/Max in the first half of the year and people who bought a M2 15 inch just two months ago? Development cycles aren't that fast and they're prioritizing 3nm chips for the iPhone, which make up like 60% of all sales. They're not gonna focus on a low volume selling sliver of Macs which are less than 10% of sales.

And think about it: is Apple gonna tell people who are buying the Vision headset in first quarter of next year your $3500 starting headset is using a cpu from 2 years ago, while we released a M3 chip back in October? No, they're not.

Honestly, you can't really tell exactly what this is for, could be 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pro's or just the entry level models. Either way, I'm excited to see whats in store. Apple is on a roll this year. Its definitely gonna suck if you bought a MacBook Pro this year. Then again, if its how you make money, you probably made back the money already and will buy this upgrade.

Why is it scheduled for 5pm instead of 10am? It's a video event, they could have scheduled it whenever they want.
Also, it was not even rumored until yesterday, when Gurman said it was happening. This is a very weird event. I think it's either gonna be underwhelming (M2 iMac, no real changes otherwise) or it will have M3 Macs and be very cool. Can't wait to see.

32" iMac...32" iMac...32" iMac!! Come on, say it with me!!! 😁 It's probably not going to happen, but what can I say, I'm a dreamer!

Starting at $3500 iMac... $3500 iMac! Come on, go in debt with me!!! ;)

As we've discussed in other threads, I'll hope right with you... for you... but better get that Apple credit limit ready... and or start counting up the big cash.

8 p.m. Eastern going up against Monday Night Football?

Either Tim is not a Raiders or Lions fan… or he's signed a deal for the rights to the XFL!

I'm skeptical about M3s, but there's no way they would have an event for the iMac only.
There's going to be more.

5 pm pacific? What happened to the regular 10 am that just happens to be a great time for us over here in Europe?

Your turn to set the clock and wake up in the wee hours for a change.

Perhaps this is Apple revenge for "forcing" the world to go USB-C in that phone. Most of us Americans and now bogged down by accumulated pocket lint and feeling the pain of paying for constant repairs of wobbly port and broken USB-C tongues. A little sleep deprivation seems only step 1 of the great revenge plot for daring to undermine easy MFi profit. Just wait until Apple redirects the supply of $20 handkerchiefs so you can't get any. European noses will run. <evil Palpatine laugh here> ;)

I don’t see any reason Apple can’t bump the Vision Pro to an M3 prior to release if they need to. They’re clearly not at the mass production stage yet. And even if they don’t, does it need whatever spec boost an M3 will provide given the nature of the experience? I’m sure more horsepower would be useful but equally, they’ll be testing the hardware heavily and developers will be optimising for it. Suddenly shifting the hardware last minute might cause unnecessary trouble.
